I like how they stress at the end of the clip that it is illegal to carry on campus!
They should put up a sign.
"Attention Robbers. It is illegal for law abiding citizens to carry firearms on this college campus. If you wish to rob them or assault them at gunpoint, do it on campus property because the students are not allowed to carry firearms on campus property."
As far as the students go, my advice to them is to stop announcing that you are carrying a concealed weapon.....and also.....get a good holster. Thugs carry their guns loose in their belts. You should know better. |

It is better to be judged by twelve than carried by six, so carrying concealed is a good idea. Like most young people they need to learn to keep their mouths shut. Local Law Enforcement will not tolerate Vigilantes . |

did you read any of the previous posts ? all encouraged caution ,Carrying a gun is a very serious matter and not to be taken lightly,even when a firearm is used in a clearcut selfdefense situation there are serious consequences .use of deadly force should always be the last resort taken when there is no other option.

I am not thrilled at the prospect of students having to carry guns to protect themselves but I sure as heck understand when they attend a school, which I am sure charged plenty of tuition. does nothing to make them safe. |

As for "no gun on campus" policies, well, that's just the sort of liberal-lefty hoplophpia that was meant to be ignored. No one should obey irrational gun laws, much less unconstitutional ones. I have a CCW and carry into the US Post Office all the time, even though there is a Federal law prohibitng that. Screw that Federal law.

of permit to carry a weapon, I support 100% the students rights to carry on campus; however, I do not condone 'trolling' for trouble.
Word of advice, if assaulted or threatened, aim for center mass.
One more word of advice, 'The Judge' is a nice piece with the capability to shoot a .45 or .410 shotgun shell. The .410 puts them down. The .45 puts them away....for good. |

would be fine for open carry with standard holster fare but not a good choice for conceal carry. There are better 45s that conceal better than a judge IMO. |

Ought to be available to anyone not a felon. Vermont has it right - carry open, carry concealed - nobody cares until you shoot someone not in need of being shot - then it's yr arse.
One other small point - if you own a carry weapon, make sure you own more than one - because if you ever have to use it, it becomes evidence, and you'll feel naked walking around without it - so have another one.
As for talking about it, well, concealed means nobody can tell, and if I am asked about whether I am carrying, I'll probably lie, because I don't think it is anyone's business what I own, how many, or if I happen to have one along. I own motorcycles, just how many is nobody's business. There is no point in concealed carry if attitude or conversation unmasks the carrier.
If you ever do have to draw that concealed weapon, make sure you are prepared for the consequences, and to clean up the mess - because just pointing it at someone does not guarantee compliance, and if you are not ready to do more than point it, you'll probably end up wearing it.
Assuming you are prepared to shoot, aim at the center of the largest part of the body and shoot twice. Observe the result - if the threat still advances, shoot it twice more in the same general area. If the threat still advances, go for a cranio-occipital (head) or groin shot - a broken pelvis will usually stop forward progress.
From my standpoint, anything less than a 9 mm is not enough - and a 9 might not be enough. My personal carry weapon is a Glock 30 - 45 caliber small enough to hide, noisy and accurate. The Judge, mentioned here is also a good choice, and I just might have to go and get one for myself - but it is harder to conceal.

Not exactly the best thing to carry around with you, but a great piece of mind for home protection. I've got mine in the nightstand right beside the bed. The first 3 chambers are load with .410 shells, the next 2 with .45's.

One other recommendation: Practice shooting whatever pistol you decide to carry.
Practice until pulling and firing are instinctive, almost "second nature".
Practice at least once each month at a firing range. Get a dry firing cartridge and practice dry firing every week.
If and when the time comes that you have to use your pistol (and I pray that you don't), your practicing will allow you to use your pistol in a manner that reflects why you got it.
Practice will also increase your accuracy. I would rather have a .38 Special that I am accurate with than a .45 that I can't hit the "ocean from a dingy" with. (And I own and carry pistols in both of these calibers.)

You see, unlike you, I'd go the constitutional route. You want to undo things like Roe, for example, by simple law. You are afraid of a constitutional amendment process because you'd lose. Two illegal aliens, Ralphel Resindez, 23, and Enrico Garza, 26, probably believed they would easily overpower home-alone 11 year old Patricia Harrington after her father had left their two-story home.
It seems the two crooks never learned two things: they were in Montana and Patricia had been a clay shooting champion since she was nine.
Patricia was in her upstairs room when the two men broke through the front door of the house. She quickly ran to her father's room and grabbed his 12 gauge Mossberg 500 shotgun.
Resindez was the first to get up to the second floor only to be the first to catch a near point blank blast of buckshot from the 11-year-old's knee crouch aim. He suffered fatal wounds to his abdomen and genitals.
When Garza ran to the foot of the stairs, he took a blast to the left shoulder and staggered out into the street where he bled to death before medical help could arrive.
It was found out later that Resindez was armed with a stolen 45 caliber handgun he took from another home invasion robbery. That victim, 50-year-old David 0Burien, was not so lucky. He died from stab wounds to the chest.
Ever wonder why good stuff never makes NBC, CBS, PBS, MSNBC, CNN , or ABC news........an 11 year old girl, properly trained, defended her home, and herself......against two murderous, illegal immigrants.....and she wins,
She is still alive.
Now that is Gun Control! :-)
