Awarding Democratic Delegates (Of Diverse Ethnicities and Sexual Orientations!) in South Carolina
Posted by: Mary Katharine Ham at 3:30 PM
The S.C. Democratic Party's website, which incidentally effectively illustrates the online gap between the parties when compared with the GOP's, has a clear run-down of the state's convoluted delegate-appointment process.

In addition to being just plain useful, the explanation includes bonus self-parodic support of pseudo-quotas, too!
Our goal is to elect a delegation that is at least 50% African American, as well as at least 3 GLBT delegates and 5 who are under 30. The election of At-Large delegates may be used to reach this goal.
Hillary is already lowering expectations and talking up delegate count, which has become the loser's mantra in this strange primary season.

Obama! Obama! Obama!
Through the muck of dirty politics a true "statesman" reigns. Hillary and Bill could stand to learn a lesson from a man like Obama. He is a "statesman" with integrity and ethics.

Dan-- Mitt's *real* immigration views?
What are Mitt's *real* immigration views?

Dreher, Rod. 10 January 2008. "Huckabee for President"
http://blog.beliefnet.com/crunchycon/2008/01/huckabee-for-p resident.html
....made me wonder: why haven't I come out for
Huck, given how interested I am in his campaign,
and how, in fact, he's the only Republican candidate
that interests me (Ron Paul was the other, but the
bigot-grams story ended that).
==
The first things that come to mind are Huckabee's
record. I don't know that I trust his about-face on
illegal immigration; today I sat in an editorial board
meeting with two pro-immigration advocates running
a sophisticated campaign to overcome opposition to
illegal immigration. One, a Republican, said, "We all
know how Romney and Giuliani really feel about
immigration, and we know that after the election,
they'll do the right thing." He didn't mention
Huckabee, but I'm not sure if that was just an
oversight. But what's the alternative? I'm
encouraged that he pretty much lifted his current
plan from Mark Krikorian.

RASMUSSEN SHOWS ROMNEY SURGING
Look at Romney's national surge post-Thompson:

January 26th.
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Saturday shows John McCain and Mitt Romney are starting to pull away from the rest of the field in the race for the Republican Presidential Nomination. McCain earns 27% of the vote while Romney attracts 25%. These are the first results based entirely upon interviews conducted after Fred Thompson dropped out of the race. Trailing the frontrunners are Mike Huckabee at 17%, Rudy Giuliani at 12%, and Ron Paul at 6%.

Say no to amnesty and Washington talk.

Go Romney in '08!
