Now You Love Him . . . Now You Don't
Posted by: Carol Platt Liebau at 5:38 PM
The Democrats who appear in an ad praising Senator McCain are now blasting him for using their own words against them.

Most noteworthy, of course, is the denunciation of Francophile Jacques Kerry (a man who does, indeed, know a little something about flip-flopping).  He's clearly the most dishonorable of the lot, having not only sought to put John McCain on his presidential ticket four years ago, but also having benefited from McCain's defense of his military service back in 2004.

The larger point about the ad, of course, is that it helps McCain with independents -- and, as a big bonus -- makes Democrats look like hypocrites when they come out now to denounce him.  It raises the question: Was their praise then insincere, or is it their condemnation now that should be discounted?

McCain wasn't my first choice.  Among other reasons, that was because so many liberals liked him so much.  But now that he's the nominee, it's entertaining to watch them try to squirm out from under the accolades they offered when McCain was a burr under Republicans' saddles, rather than theirs.

So what?
McCain was gushing about Pelosi and Gore just last week. They are all playing for the same team.

Vote against the one-party system. Pick a 3rd party candidate, any one will do.
ScarletPimpernel writes: Thursday, August, 07, 2008 6:00 PM
hahaha, you guys don't get it
McCain almost was VP for the Dem/lib party! He's still quite likely to ask Webb or Lieberman or Bloomberg to VP up.

As Bugs would say about y'all: "What a gull a bull".

Once again, McCain is re-opening the door for raising taxes, less than a week after he said he wouldn't. Just after he said he would, before he said he wouldn't. What is everyone afraid of? Are you going to vote for the least funny of two Bozos?

Don't waste your vote. Vote against the one-party system of the entrenched criminal class of weasels. Vote 3rd party.

Phil
Well, in the article you linked, it doesn't seem like Grover Norquist is too worried about it:

"Some tax-cut proponents remain optimistic McCain won't let them down.

Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform, said he ``didn't go nuts the way some other conservatives did'' over McCain's July 27 remarks because he's been reassured by the senator's aides.

``McCain's saying: `Yes, let's talk about everything,''' he said. ``But that does not mean he'll agree to raise taxes.''

Just in case, Norquist is keeping handy the clips of McCain pledging on national television to not raise taxes. "

And he was hardly "gushing" about Pelosi and Gore. That's an overstatement.

McCain (D-lite) Loves Them Anyway
Even when they say bad stuff about him.

He's always collegial with Ted Kennedy, Russ Feingold, Joe Leiberman, and other Democrats, his GOP colleages get F--K YOU!

Pretty much how he feels about most conservatives.

Leiberman for GOP nominee!

Makes as much sense as McCain.

McCain ALWAYS lets CONSERVATIVES down. That is what makes him "mavericky". If he is such a good candidate, why are his positions virtually identical to Obama's? Is THAT why the only thing you ever read here is fear-mongering and race-baiting directed at Obama? Virtually NO ONE who visits TH is going to vote for Obama. Why not try to convince convince conservatives that we should without trying to infect us with your irrational and over-the-top fear?

MCCAIN SUCKS!!!!!! There is nothing good to say about him.

Obama /McCain - What is the difference?
This country is being used as a tool for other countries in amnesty and integrating governments. Global war on "terror" is a global integration tool for tyranny.

Nose-holders
I listen to many people representing varying interests every day and I can assure you that Wall Street doesn't like EITHER of these guys but is leaning Obama because he has a good economic team. If you want an idea where the "mental recession" is coming from, it's management in non-global corporations who have to face the reality that the Fannie/Freddie bailout is going to suck all of the capital out of the banking system and so they have to scale down for lack of capital to finance their growth. The real inflation rate is in double digits. Put THAT in your economic models and all of a sudden, you can see why Fannie and Freddie stock prices are near their take-out price ($7 and $5). They are insolvent and there is no reason for anyone to own those stocks because Paulson has already said the shareholders are screwed. They will soon be in receivership. They are about to become wholly-owned government enterprises that can still spend $20-30 million per year lobbying Congress. This will end up costing the taxpayer $5 trillion plus whatever more is looted by management.

Let's vote for that! Support the one-party system! Change is too scary!

We don't deserve a good government. Too many nose-holding girly men/

McCain and Obama run nothing
McCain and Obama are used by international and the US banking system to consolidate power and assets.

This was all engineered by the Federal reserve. They created the discount window to 1% in 2001 to suck the Americans dry and drive them up to debt.

The Federal Reserve issues money out of nothing and puts people in debt, and when homeowners can no longer pay the debt they claim (REAL assets) on the people (theft). Then the media says, oh it is the business cycle. No this is created and engineered by precision.

The Federal Reserve uses the issuance of credit to consolidate real assets and claims America is a capitalistic system, while they transfer wealth to JP MORGAN (etc.) and away from Americans.

The only solution is to follow the constitution and have gold and silver be implemented as legal tender from the US Governement (not a private bank). However the government has very little gold (all held by the IMF banks). So that means that the US Treasury should issue debt free notes and abolish the Federal Reserve.

Again with the truth stretching
Race baiting? Where, Phil, specifically where is there race baiting? Vitrually identical positions? What, like on nuclear energy? On abortion? On the captial gains tax? On the 2nd Amendment? On the surge? Again, thanks for the comedy of saying that everyone is fear mongering while peddling theories about one world governments, illegals taking over the U.S. and how we are open borders. I'm always amused at how that is not fear mongering, but saying that Obama wants to pull troops out of Iraq is fear mongering. One is actually backed up with concrete evidence. By the way, what "good economic team" member is saying that doubling the capital gains tax is a winner? Or that a windfall profit tax on oil companies is a winner? Wow, some heavy duty economic team. Keep on keeping on with the theories and the truth stretching.

One Reason
One reason I don't much care for Christians is they like to watch other people's pain, ergo "The Passion of Christ" is the largest grossing Christian film ever.

", it's entertaining to watch them try to squirm out from under the accolades they offered when McCain was a burr under Republicans' saddles, rather than theirs."

Don Henley wrote it a little differently in "The Last Resort". He wrote, "Call someplace paradise, kiss it goodbye."

By definition, paradise seekers are graceless. Christians are graceless and taking delight in another's plight is so Christian.

Color me atheist. I would never want to spend eternity with people like you. Not ever. Color me faithless not because I do not believe in a creator, but because I do not care much for paradise chasers, they are all as crass as you.
