As you can see, virtually every instance of fraud involves a handful of local, often part time workers. In addition, as noted above, ACORN can't on it's own throw away suspected fradulent registrations, they have to submit them to the state.
In Ohio in 2004, four ACORN employees were indicted by a federal grand jury for submitting false voter registration forms.
In January 2005 two Colorado ACORN workers were sentenced to community service for submitting false voter registrations. ACORN's regional director said, "we find it abhorrent and do everything we can to prevent it from happening."
On November 1, 2006, four part-time ACORN employees were indicted in Kansas City, Missouri for voter registration fraud. Prosecutors said the indictments are part of a national investigation. ACORN said in a press release that it is in part responsible in these individuals being caught, has fired them, and has cooperated and publicly supported efforts to look into the validity of the allegations.
ACORN was investigated in 2006 for submitting false voter registrations in St. Louis, Missouri. 1,492 fraudulent voter registrations were identified.
In 2007, five Washington state ACORN workers were sentenced to jail time. ACORN agreed to pay King County $25 000 for its investigative costs and acknowledged that the national organization could be subject to criminal prosecution if fraud occurs again. According to King County Prosecuting Attorney Dan Satterberg, the misconduct was done "as an easy way to get paid [by ACORN], not as an attempt to influence the outcome of elections." |

I sometimes wonder if you have a learning disability, because you always seem to completley miss the points I'm trying to make.
The reason ACORN can't prevent fradulent registrations from being submitted is that only the State can choose which forms to accept or deny.
Any group handling voter registrations has to submit all forms collected.
If a local office is breaking the rules all that the ACORN management can do is notify the state, which they consistently do when discreptancies arise.
ACORN can't by itself decide that a local office was breaking the rules and throw away the forms, that would be a crime.

Where did you cut and paste that crap from? ACORN has a long and rich history of voter fraud. It is appalingly easy for people to vote multiple times and evidenced by college kids doing it during the last election and then bragging about it.

It is just too easy these days. Must be why all the McCainiacs go nuclear when I show up. |
|
Glad to see you on our side, Nero!
The conventional noseholding wisdom is that McCain is always an innocent bystander in those situations. He speaks out in his failing efforts to prevent spending bills from passing (even though his own party controls everything) but leads the charge for landmark liberal legislation (to help the enemy break through his own party's opposition).

I also like Cicero's Juan Mequeno.
Juan Hernandez wouldn't like it. |

When the shrill voices on the right can't get any traction on their lies, distortion and smears, they quickly grope for new depths and slimier angles! Not one to learn from his mistakes, Jonathan is now hoping to find any goober that will stick to the wall of shame for the GOP.
Meanwhile polling results show a pretty heady Obama lead in nearly all of the formerly red states (VA??!! Wow.) SOMETHING isn't working in the McCain/Palin camp, and you can't blame the GOP economy entirely on the fact that the odious dirty politics don't also play a hand in ruining the "maverick" handle. |

because the reason for the fradulent voter registrations is that ACRON legally cannot pick and choose which registrations to submit.
All they can do is report suspicious forms as they submit them.
If one of their local offices is breaking the rules they cannot choose to not submit registrations from that office. If they started to do that, they would open themselves up for accusations of throwing away valid voter registrations due to bias.
Only the state can choose to accept or deny registrations.
ACORN cooperates with all investigations of voter registration fraud and has consistently notified states when fraud is suspected. |
