Book Trailers!
What an interesting way to get people interested in reading! Book trailers are like movie trailers, but for books! You can find them all over the internet now, but here is a site that's featuring them on YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/booktrailers

Worthless
He has no charisma and he looks like a gargoyle. What do people see in this guy? Watching these videos are like the political equivalent of watching paint dry.

Questions
Fred is a professional actor and he was a lobbyist and Senator. He has years of experience in front of cameras and in impromptu discussions. This is the 3rd mess up (CA speech, Kudlow and now this).

It raises real questions about what is going on and why. Is there something wrong? Can he run a traditional campaign without blowing a 1/3 of his presentations. Why does he struggle if he gets off of script? He does well with a telepromter, a script and a director. Why is he having so much trouble with unscripted answers?

I watched his VA speech which his supporters claimed was good.

His delivery is distracting from his message. Romney, Rudy, McCain, Huckabee and Hunter all have a better delivery. Even Brownback and Paul are doing as well as Fred at times.

Fred cannot win the nomination much less the general general election with this level of campaign skill. I like Fred. Right now I feel somewhat sorry for him. Don't hype him anymore as the reincarnation of Reagan. He delivers well at times but he just does not look Presidential.

General Election
LISTEN FRED!HEADS: Do you really think this man can win the general election? YOU WILL NOT GET BALANCE FROM THE MEDIA. They will play every gaffe, uhh etc. Watch Chris matthews response to Mitt at the 1st debate, when asked about Catholics denying communion- Mitt handed matthews his head. Do you think the man in these videos can handle a hostile media?
Fred! supporters- name a time you have seen speak extemperaneously in a hostile situation ("Hunt for Red October" doesn't count).
Fred! may not be a member of a "cult", but no way in the world does he win the general election. Bank on that.

Um, Hello
I agree, Sen. Thomspon says Um too much, but this was the question and answer section. The speech flowed and was powerful. He needs to work on the Ums, but remember, Reagan, had years of practice before he was elected. Maybe, Thompson should have more time, but I don't think that takes away from his overall abilites.

Fred is NOT the real deal
Fred D. Thompson, despite his appeal as an autoritative actor figure, is not presidential material. There is no articulation of thought or substance behind these remarks. He is a lightweight when it comes to real leadership. He's never managed anything larger than a senate office. His acting is great, but his "on his feet" delivery is non-presidential. This is worse than G. W. Bush's worst.

Some have compared him to Bob Dole, who, if you remember, was eaten alive by Bill Clinton. If we run Fred D. against Hillary, she will similarly eat him alive.

Mitt Romney is looking better all the time.

Thompson as Politician
Whence comes this notion that Thomspon is a gifted politician? He was first elected in 1994 to finish Al Gore's unexpired term. 1994 was a remarkable year for Republicans, and both of Tennessee's Senate seats went to the GOP that year (the other to Bill Frist) for the first time since 1976. He was re-elected in 1996, running against Democratic candidate Houston Gordon. Who? That's right, Houston Gordon, that's who.

By itself, I don't find this very impressive.

And I don't see the red pickup truck playing any better outside Tennessee than Lamar Alexander's plaid shirts.

Uhhhh, I wish you would, uhhhh
Give Fred uhhhh Thompson another uhhhhhhh chan.uhh.ce. Don't uh, fall for uh this Mitt Romney uh propa uh ganda that Dean uhhhhhhhh Barnett is uhhhhh throwing uhhhhhhh out there. Fred is uhhhh a far better uhhhhhhhhhhhh communicator than uhhhh Mitt Romney.
swanman writes: Wednesday, June, 20, 2007 12:40 PM
uhhhhh where is the fire?
Fred doesn't inspire me at all. He's a great guy but so is George Bush. We need more than a good guy with a souther accent.

Come On Fred Stop The Hype...
It's time to go out and campaign like the rest of them. Or are you afraid of people getting too close a look?
littlehouse writes: Wednesday, June, 20, 2007 12:21 AM
UH, Fred, UH, please.....
Fred is going to have to work on the UH thing. He said UH so many times I could not bear to listen! The transcripts kindly omitted these UHs, perhaps I will return to reading them.

Zach writes: Tuesday, June, 19, 2007 11:24 PM
I love and have loved Fred but....
If he really thinks he wants to be president he'll have to do a lot better than this. I notice the usual fredheads are silent on these videos.

Truth is I think almost anyone who is a republican likes Fred Thompson in theory. If he can pull out the actor that delivers his canned lines to deliver in non-scripted moments he'll kill in the election.

Where is that Fred??

The Great Communicator?
Hi, uuuhhh... my uh.. name is Fred uuuuhhh... Thompson and I uuuuhhhh... I uh, shucks, uh... I'll uuuh... run for president I uh, guess.

This guy is the next coming of Ronald Reagan? Give me a break.

I was excited about his candidacy when he was a non-candidate but once I get a real look at the guy, I realize he's just another Senator with a pretty good speaking voice.

I know that Dean & Hugh are Romney supporters, but listen to this and read the full transcript and tell me that someone else should be President...
