Position Change, Or Not?
Posted by: Matt Lewis at 12:05 PM

This clip is from '05.  It's hard to hear, and is obviously excerpted, but here goes...

("My view is that those who are here, uh, contrary to the law should seek to establish, uh, legal residence.  And if they do so, I'd be delighted to provide them support.")

Again, I'm not sure what this means.  My guess is the anti-Romney folks believe it is an example of "flip-floppery."  But the statement is nuanced enough to allow for some wiggle room.  For example, he is calling for "legal status" -- not "citizenship," per se.  I'd like to see the full video.  What are your thoughts?

News?
Romney has been among the flippiest of floppers for several decades now. See how sill you all look when you look to Fox and Rush for "news"?

HUNTER FOR AMERICA

Republican voters still get to decide who their nominee will be. Money only buys elections when people act like sheep. If 80% of Republicans are indeed seeking a conservative, we can nominate one. We can nominate Duncan Hunter. The money players won't like it and are trying to convince us only Rudy, Romney, or McCain can win. Hogwash. They want an open borders candidate. Give Americans a chance to vote for a candidate who WILL secure the border and watch turnout soar. Americans want their government to fulfill it's most basic responsibility.

The primary responsibility of the U.S. government is to protect the territorial integrity and people of this country. They have completely abdicated this responsibility. Both parties have been complicit in this. We are being told it is not possible to control our borders, enforce our laws, and thereby control our destiny as a nation. Hogwash. We are being sold out by corporations intent on importing workers for jobs that can't be exported with the taxpayers paying the true costs, financial and human. If we act like sheep and don't stop the inundation across our borders, we will lose our country without a bleat.

Whatevah...
Wouldn't be the first time "Mitt" has flipped on an issue (or any of the other losers for that matter)...why are we surprised...they are all liars...

let's vote in the Dems, let the country go to hell in a handbasket...and move from there...

it's like crackheads...sometimes they have to hit rock bottom to learn a lesson...that's America and the Republicans problem for sure...

so scared of Hillary, that they don't even see, they will end up in Hillaryville (rock bottom) regardless (Jorge Busho is doing a fine job of taking us their with his sorry, feminized way of fighting a war, sorry stance on the war on terror...)

I am done...sitting this one out...

Call me when its time to clean up the mess from the ruins ;-)

we sure wish McCain would flip-flop

Matt Lewis,

This is hilarious, you speak of "anti-Romney folks" in the third person---as if you're NOT one of them.
Romney didn't flip-flop on this issue, but we sure wish your candidate John McCain would flip-flop, because he's just plain wrong.

Matt, what's really funny is that you believe it's preferable to be consistently WRONG (John McCain) rather than for someone to come to your position on an issue.
I can just imagine you asking out a girl who has already turned you down for a date.
When she changes her mind and decides she'll give you the opportunity to take her out, instead of saying, "Cool, let's go catch some dinner Friday nite," you'd probably shake your finger at her and shame her for being a flip-flopper on the issue of going out with you !
