Referendum Tuesday

Kids in Virginia had the day off today due to the election and because it was parent-teacher conference day at the end of the first quarter.

Barack Obama is having a sort of first quarter review tonight. Virginia at 7pm, New Jersey at 8pm and NY23 at 9pm.

New Jersey and Virginia each have relatively large numbers of electoral votes (15 NJ; 13 V). It is not insignificant that both of these important states went from being Democrat Blue States to Republican Red. That's way more important than what happened anywhere else. How many MORE states has Obama lost in just 1 year? That's the million dollar question. I suspect these 2 aren't the only ones he'll lose for the Democrats by the time the 2010 National elections roll around. And I'm sure this dynamic, while seeming to be ignored by the mainstream media and their champions in the White House, is weighing most heavily on their minds. New Jersey and Virginia have both become RED STATES overnight. That is no small victory for Conservatism

The most important thing to note about what took place tonight is that 2 states with a significant number of electoral college votes (NJ-15; V-13) just went from being Blue states to Red states...Obama losing both, only 1 year after having won them. That, and Obama's own statement on the significance of NJ is what definitely makes this a referendum on the Obama failed first year as president. As evidence of the rejection of Obama by the voters, esp. in NJ, this story was carried by MSNBC on Sunday during Obama's 11th hour rallies for Corzine in NJ: CAMDEN, N.J. - In a final campaign swing on behalf of the only governor seeking re-election this fall, President Barack Obama on Sunday pitched Democratic Gov. Jon Corzine's bid as a key component for the White House to make good on its political promises. "He's one of the best partners I have in the White House. We work together," Obama said. "We know our work is far from over." Obama drew 6,500 people at a rally in Camden and another 11,000 later in Newark, according to White House estimates. He urged supporters to work hard to give Corzine another term in office so he can work with Washington to help repair a brittle economy. A Corzine loss would be seen as a political embarrassment for the White House." __________________________________________ There isn't any way they would have admitted this had they not really thought Obama's appearances could put Corzine over the top. Tragic Tuesday and Triumphant Thursday
I heard Reid is no longer promising a completed Health Care bill before years end. What happened to all that 'YES WE CAN FORCE YOU TO CARRY PUBLIC HEALTH INSURANCE' mantra? These arrogant congress men and women need to be recycled. They have trashed our constitutional rights by spending our future for political power and political gain. They now believe they can FORCE AMERICANS to purchase a specific product manufactured and distributed by govt. i.e. Public Health Care. And that 'opt out' nonsense is exactly that! How can we be asked to pay for the program then asked to not get anything out of it. The very act of REQUIRING every american to hold health insurance is UNCONSTITUTIONAL. What the HECK is wrong with these law makers. This Thursday let's join Buchman in Congress and say to the elected officials - WE THE PEOPLE KNOW OUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS AND WE WON'T BOW TO YOUR 'REQUIRED HEALTH CARE PLAN'.
