Dem Debate: The Good, the Bad, and the Hillary
Posted by: Mary Katharine Ham at 1:10 AM
I wrote a Democrat debate wrap-up as a column this week because the whole two hours were so very ridiculous, it just warranted a little awards ceremony.

A taste of the superlatives I handed out:
Most Grating Intonation-Control Problem:

Does Hillary Clinton ever know her mike is on or has some clever double-agent infiltrated and convinced her that the American voter equates diaphragm strength with national security credibility, so she must project her way to the presidency with a little Tippecanoe-and-Tyler-Too mike-less nostalgia? We all understand that she can only communicate in one tone, but must it be so loud?

BAD NIGHT FOR HILLARY

Can Hillary give a straight answer anything?

Voice
If her voice were not strong, you would criticize her for feminine weakness. If she had fainted on stage, you would be saying "That proves she can't stand on her own two feet". If she were Snow White, you would describe her as cohabiting with seven deformed men, each with a different lust.

Hillary's not my first choice among Democratic candidates---I am troubled by her pandering to the right wing. But nobody could possibly say that Republican coverage of her is fair.

Aflak?
Sorry, my mistake. I certainly thought it was Aflak making those harsh, screaming rants!
