That is right. I am sure Munck would accept a republican state official's word on such an issue were it a republican in the same situation. It seems Munck trusts any lib state or federal officials no matter what. What an odd way to think. He wants to be subservient to the state as all good libtards do. |

...he will definitely have a record. The Rasmussen poll shows that in that poll at least people like Romney's record as much as they do Obama's 6-month record.
And at this point, Romney is rising; Obama falling. |
...you have one.
That's why BHO and Hillary did so well: Absolutely NO resume. NO record of accomplishment. Since they never tried to do anything, nobody can hang anything around their necks.
Maybe that's the future of America. Voters electing people with NO experience only promises that people can pin their "hopes" on.
Then, when they see what the candidate actually does, they throw him out for the next promise-maker with no record. |
Clay, I get your point but if records matter then HOW did we get O'Vomit? He spent ALL his time from the day he was sworn into the Senate running for President. He voted "present" 143 times to avoid creating a trail that we could point to.

WHY did you THINK Hollyweird dug up one of the most arcane and unknown incidents in the Old West and ran the film to coincide with the beginning of the Primary process? Aside from the History Channel NOBODY has brought up Mountain Meadows for 150 years until now.
Can we say "Big Love"? Sure the main characters are sort of fuzzy/weird/personable but there are a LOT of deranged ones cast as the "real Mormons" as well.
As Rush has advised the public: "Look at the Conservatives the Left tries hardest to destroy and those are the ones they FEAR most." This goes for Palin AND Romney. A Romney/Palin win would be worth any effort just to see the bowels explode in newsrooms all over America.

I wasn't listening to Beck much during the election, but I do remember that he wasn't necessarily supporting Romney even though Rush, O'Reilly, Ingraham, Savage, Levin and a bunch of financial gurus were.
It's in error to say Romney is not supporting the Pubs. He's been doing nothing BUT supporting Republican candidates and donating money from his PAC.
I believe it's also in error to say he's just running for his own aggrandizement. That would be the Clintons. Or for personal aggrandizement, political power and pure ideology, that would be Obama.
When you actually take an honest look at Romney, you see a man whose basic MO is serving others and I believe he's sincere in his desire to serve the American people.
I see a smart, good man who sees himself in a position to be a servant-leader.
MassCare, though apparently a mess, came from Romney's sincere desire to take the money that was already being spent in the ERs and apply it to universal insurance.
But he's still for free-market solutions not government messes: A far cry from proud progressivism.
Fact: The economy will still be in a mess by 2011. Fact: SOMEBODY will need to run against BO unless the Pubs and Cons just roll over and let him have another 4 years. Fact: That somebody needs to be somebody with name recognition who exudes competency on the economy.
Who else is there? Jindal? Cantor? Ryan? Maybe. But they are all young and not well known and may want to keep their powder dry for 2016. After the Enfant Terrible, BHO, maybe people will be in the mood for a sensible grown-up even if he's a tall rich white guy with perfect hair. |
You are probably right. Too bad all are not more concerned with salvaging this country as opposed to just being self serving. |
That would be nice ,but Mitt just does not have that in him .His record of flip flopping shows that he has no core values ,He simply markets himself to the constituency he thinks he needs at the time. His lack of conviction minimizes his good attributes and renders him ineffective. |
I believe tha Romney would best serve the party by pointing out Obama's failure to understand basic economics. I do not believe that he will have a shot as president but do believe he could do a lot of good right now if he showed what a failure the Mass health care system turned out to be. He could clearly admit that it was tried and failed. He really should do more to promote his party and not try to promote himself for a presidential run. |
Romneys less than stellar performance as governor of Mass. coupled with his complete lack of charisma make him a flash in the pan .His name will come up over the next few years but his record will kill his hopes. |

Right you are Rommney will be destroyed by the Mass health care disaster. If he was smart right now he would be out showing the failure that this socialized medicine attempt has been and what was learned from this attempt at socializing medicine. I think he would pick up more respect by admitting to this failure. |
I think that the guy is OK. His one problem will be Mass Healthcare, which is similar to Obamacare. Neither one will work. Mass system is a disaster.
The key to the elections today or any elections in the future will be the independents & the hispanics. Whoever captures their vote wins! |
The real problem the GOP has, and especially Romney, is that the non-white voters are increasingly turning against Republicans.
There was a very interesting article on this in RCP yesterday, but I'll paraphrase.
In 1976, the electorate was 90% White. Had that been the case in 2008, McCain would have won, because he carried the White vote 56-43. but in 2008, it shrank to 75%. Blacks made up 13% of the electorate and Obama carried 97% of them. hispanics made up 9%, and Obama carried them by a 2-1 margin.
Now, in the face of that problem, Romney is probably the worst candidate the GOP could feild. He's whiter than white bread, and belongs to a religion that didn't admit blacks to full membership until 1978 and still holds in their scripture that dark skin is a curse from God. His pandering to the Virginia Pats of the world means he would have lost the hispanic vote by an even bigger margin.
He also makes a point about how the youth vote is going Democratic... which I can attest to. Meetings of my local GOP is the only place where I can be the youngest guy in the room these days...

Please, guys like Romney are what caused this economic mess. Because for the last 30 years, people like him have been systematically dismantling the middle class.
We'll take away your union, send your good paying manufacturing job to China, use every recession to downsize you into a job that pays less... but not to worry, we'll let you invest in the stock market and flip your house. You can be PART of the Exploitation. Whooooopeeee.
Except most of us aren't saavy enough about the stock market and real estate to actually do that. So along came September 2008, and we found ourselves with worthless 401K's and Mortgages where we owed more than the property could be sold for if you could even find a buyer and a jumping unemployment rate as everyone started panicking.
Now exactly how would nominating one of the very people who got us into that mess help us.
A working person voting for Mitt Romney is like a Chicken voting for Colonel Sanders. |

I'D TAKE ROMNEY, OVER ALOT POLITICIANS. AT LEAST HE KNOWS ECONOMICS, AND THAT STIMULUS DO NOT WORK BUT SEND US INTO MORE DEBT AND PROLONG A RECESSION. AS HISTORY TAUAGHT US THAT THE FDR NEW (RAW) DEAL DID IN THE 1930'S PORLONGING THE DEPRESSION. I BET ROMNEY STUDIED U.S. HISTORY TOO. AT LEAST HE IS NOT A LIBERAL SOCIALIST LIKE OBAMA!!!!1 |

Check out the videos for "Medical Meltdown", "Beacon of Hope", and "The One Thing". Beck, who supported Romney, shows what a disaster Romney's "Commonwealth Care" plan has become. And this is very similar to what Obama's proposal for health care reform is. Romney lost because people saw that, despite whatever success he had in the private sector, as a public servant he sucked hard. |

"The citizenry of the United States have a tangible interest in seeing the birth record of someone who is now their President."
And you can. I put a pointer to an image of it in the comment at 9:44 PM above. The State of Hawaii has certified that it is authentic. What you don't need is a certified copy of it for your very own. |
“State law prohibits the release of a certified birth certificate to persons who do not have a tangible interest in the vital record.”
The citizenry of the United States have a tangible interest in seeing the birth record of someone who is now their President. Why the secrecy? What does Obama have to hide? |
"Very easy to produce a fake document such as a birth certificate"
Yeah, but this one was certified as authentic by the State of Hawaii. That wasn't true of your fake driver's license last year when you were 16.
Here you go. Note the date.
“There have been numerous requests for Sen. Barack Hussein Obama’s official birth certificate,” said Chiyome Fukino. “State law prohibits the release of a certified birth certificate to persons who do not have a tangible interest in the vital record.”
Citing her statutory authority to oversee and maintain Hawaii’s vital records, Fukino said she has “personally seen and verified that the Hawaii State Department of Health has Sen. Obama’s original birth certificate on record in accordance with state policies and procedures.
"Therefore, I as Director of Health for the State of Hawaii, along with the Registrar of Vital Statistics who has statutory authority to oversee and maintain these type of vital records, have personally seen and verified that the Hawaii State Department of Health has Sen. Obama’s original birth certificate on record in accordance with state policies and procedures," Fukino said.

Wish we'd had a debate between Mitt and Obama (without any teleprompters to help Obama read his script).
Romney talks a mile a minute and says a lot while Obama reads with feeling but stumbles on his own.
Romney hit us with his firehose of ideas while Obama kept hammering hope and change. Was it a vocabulary issue? Did Obama read us bedtime stories and lull us to sleep while Mitt tried to get us to reason and compare?
Romney is better understood his second time around. This time we know what "hope and change" look like and we don't like what we are seeing.
When Romny said he couldn't wait to get his hands on Washington to cut out waste and duplication, we collectively yawned.
When he said Washington was broken, we switched the channel.
When he compared his leadership experience, we said he was only the governor of a small state, fixed a world-wide Olympics that we've since forgotten.
We didn't understood economics so his record of successfully running a venture capital business we didn't know anything didn't impress us. Bains sounded like a weak word to our ears.
Our reaction was "He looks like a business man and talks like a college professor." Plastic and stiff were used freely to describe his personality.
And then the doomsday Christians came out in full force, all but saying that a vote for Romney made a person less than a good Christian because he was a member of a church people were throwing rocks at. Huck's question to the media all but sealed Mitt's fate at the ballot box in Iowa where lots of good Christians live who didn't want to be labeled as bad Christians.
Is it any wonder that Romney is rising now that the American public can see the 'change' candidate Obama in office and see the former candidate Mitt working as a patriot? What a contrast. |

Very easy to produce a fake document such as a birth certificate ,I would prefer that a bipartisan investigation verify this document and lay this to rest .It should not take more than a few hours and then it ceases to be an issue . What's the harm? |
"I bet he would let us see his actual birth certificate."
Here you go: http://twitpic.com/au99s |
that should be Obama 40%, Palin 42% |
...is that he had NO record to cause distrust. He was elected on rhetoric alone.
Now that he's actually making (hard-core leftist) policy and showing himself to be a big fat liar and worse, a bunch of people are going to have buyer's regret.
But, I bet he would let us see his actual birth certificate.
What Jillian failed to mention is that in the same poll Obama beats Sarah Palin 48-41%. Sorry Palin fans. |
would be the Republican Mondale...
He'll carry Utah... and that's about it. |
Well, Cool This says a lot more about the American voter than either Obama or Romney.
Maybe people are coming to their senses--that the country needs a steady-at-the-helm, common sense grown-up over a too-cool-for-school, manic-spending, egomaniacal, delusional, quasi-Marxist thug.
Me- Or that people just don't have an opinion at this point...
First, it's Rasmussen, which already tells you it has no credibility.
Second, any poll at this point is just name recognition.
Let's be honest, 2008 was supposed to be Rudy vs. Hillary.... if you believed teh polls.
The perception of Mitt is far removed from his record ,He ran mass as a left of center Arlan Specter Republican ,. Mitt is not a conservative he is a political chameleon who panders shamelessly to any potential voters . |
...demonstrated EVERYTHING that is wrong with the fundy wing of the GOP: dumb-as-a-stump ignorance, ability to swallow whole whoppers with a single gulp and regurgitate them ad nauseum, and blind allegiance to any Elmer or Ellen Gantry wearing a cross on their lapel or on a necklace. |
Romney tanked Romney...
If he showed himself all along as he did in his concession/suspension speech to McCain, he would have been the front runner.
Since height and hair make a difference, he does a good chance against Obummer. (sorry to burst your bubble, but looks do make a difference in POTUS elections.) |
My "point of view" is pragmatic, not extreme. Huckabee's team did the damage to Romney, as well as, some mis-steps by Romney himself. I didn't state it in my previous post, but I would've voted for Romney if I'd had a chance. I thought I made that clear by my reference to the Ferrari - maybe you didn't get that?
Are all governors "stupid" or are some more stupid than others? Are governors who take their own party to task in order to root out corruption "stupid"? Are governors who negotiate complex energy deals with recalcitrant parties "stupid"? Who would you give as an example of a "smart" governor?
No candidate can win the presidency relying on only their "base". BHO didn't nor did Reagan. All candidates must persuade the voters that their plans and policies are better for the individual, and the country as a whole, than the opponents'. McCain, Dole, Ford are examples of poor, uninspiring communicators and the voters chose accordingly. |
Majesty, El Nerd-Dweeb-Preachy, out there on the Full Court Press, Babycakes! 20/24...7/7..'Yo!
He's wearing badly and refuses to see it. The Ancients called it 'Hubris'. I call it 'Over Reach'...Either will do. He's running just as fast as his pedicured footsies will carry him for the SHIPWRECK. Very CooL!
Just when my wife and I thought there was respite for Baseball...King Baby shows up for the first Girly pitch at the All Star Game!
Keep it comin', Yo! |
...Huck/Sarah voter? What a disgrace you are to them, America and your faith.
Good. Do not go to the polls "if the next Republican do not have a solid voting record." Go back to school, get some long term therapy and a few meds wouldn't hurt.
But please. Do not vote in ANY election.

Mitt Romney did not win becuase he is a RHINO like john mccain. Mitt Flip caused him self to lose by practicing political expedient words ust like obamanation. Mitt could not buy his way into the white house then and he wont buy his way into the white in 2012. He is a phoney!!!He is the first repub im sorry RHINO, to sign a government run health care with 50.00 gift certificates for abortions. His state was the first state to start GAY marraige! First he was a Democrat who cried he was not for that BUSH REGAN crap" who ran to left of TED Kennedy then he became an independant then he became a Republican. He left Massachusetts with MITTCARE and the state is going bank rupt...Tell me if he is such a business man, why is the state going bankrupt. MITTCARE, HILLARY CARE, and OBAMACARE they all lead to bankrupting america and as a Black Conservative Independant that normally votes Republican, will not vote for OBAMA or ROMNEY!!!If the next REPUBLICAN DO NOT HAVE A SOLID VOTING RECORD, I WILL NOT EVEN GO TO THE POLLS...WILL NOT WASTE MY TIME ON ANOTHER RHINO ( I.E. JOHN MCCAIN...THERE ARE ONLY 2 REAL REPUBS THAT CAN TRULY garner enough enthusiam within the Republican party and that is Mike Huckabee and Sarah Palin...They have consistant voting records and they always put the people first...MITT FLIPP is another version of OBAMA!!! |
your point of view lost in the GOP primaries, again and again. Your fellow voters wanted to give the key to Cotton Mather, not a seasoned, intelligent man. Your fellow GOP voters wanted to have someone 'just like them', even if that person was stupid like Palin.
Don't blame the Dems for Romney. Maybe he can beat Obama in 2012, depending on many, many issues. But Romney can't win relying on the far right 'base'. |
right wing evangelicals did. Just like they think Obama is a muslim, they know that Romney's a Mormon, so can't have that. has to be a bible belt guy just like ensign, sanford, vitter, craig.
Romney is a grown up. And were he president, he'd be doing what he did in MA. Healthcare. |
That's a pretty broad brush you're painting with. Not "all" Christians "hate Romney" - as you claim. I'd say a significant number of Christians of all stripes, even many Evangelicals, supported and would have voted for Romney. Why? First, we know there is no "Religious Test" in the Constitution for public office. Obviously, a candidate who adheres to basic tenets outside of mainstream thought (witchcraft and voodoo come to mind) might necessarily self-select as being "unelectable". Do I have significant theological disagreements with the Mormon faith? Absolutely. But this isn't the forum in which to air them.
Second, we recognize his business/economic skills and maturity on both domestic and foreign policy. He has had to demonstrate the ability to compromise with his opponents when he didn't have the leverage of a majority in his favor. BHO has never shown nor demonstrated that ability, nor has he ever run any type of business.
The American voters have given the keys to the family Ferrari to the 16 year-old who just earned his learners' permit. I'd rather have someone who's been around the block a few times, even if I don't agree with all his driving techniques. |
Don't lie, you hope Huck has a lover in argentina,or anywhere else that is all you live for in you pathetic life is to have a target to look down that long snout of yours. Sad to be that petty. |
This says a lot more about the American voter than either Obama or Romney.
Maybe people are coming to their senses--that the country needs a steady-at-the-helm, common sense grown-up over a too-cool-for-school, manic-spending, egomaniacal, delusional, quasi-Marxist thug. |
An innovative while practical business guy is exactly what we need right now. Talk about an improvement! |
They better not go after the Mormon religion with Obama being the 'Muslim' fathers son. The Prez., certainly is not a true Christian, as his abortion stand and former support of anti-white/America mentor Rev., Wright depicts! Hostile Wright gives lip-service to the Christian faith! Seems like the ignorant Obama would have been more successful with his costly health care stand now, if he and Congress had been fiscally responsible, instead of so irresponsible; regarding the faulty stimulus and other unworthy debts they have piled up for us and our grandchildren to pay for! Ex Democrat |
To make me spew my coffee all over the monitor on a Monday morning over something this ridiculous.
And don't let the 'christians' know about this poll...they hate Romney, remember, he's not a 'real' christian.
when you go back and read Reagan and Thatcher, and Goldwater and Buckley, you'll know what real conservatism is. It looks a lot more like Romney than anyone else on the right, but because he won't be christian 'enough', well, bring on the anti-gay, anti-social liberalism agenda and someone like Huckabee. Hope HE doesn't have an Argentinian mistress. |
What's the difference in comparing socially liberal attorneys from the Rockefeller Republicans and the Liberal Democrats and a pseudo-conservative from Alaska? This is not news except to the moderate Republicans on "conservative" talk radio. |
this doesn't make me feel any better. Wasn't MittCare in Massachusetts similar to Obamacare? At least, in the sense that the GOVERNMENT TOLD YOU THAT YOU HAD TO BUY HEALTH INSURANCE, OR ELSE! |
Will not even report this right now. I heard someone last night touting how Obama's popularity still is so high that he can get health care through. All polls that I have seen show him dropping quickly and show that he is no more popular at this point in his presidency than many before him. Also the polls on the popularity for Universal Health Care have changed dramatically but still many on MSM fail to report that as well. |
Don't let the liberal media know. As soon as they find Obama and Romney tied, they will begin to give Romney the Sarah Palin treatment. Thats right after they start attacking Mormons again. |
