Peggy Noonan, Mike Murphy Caught on Tape Disparaging Palin

After an interview on MSNBC, The Wall Street Journal's Peggy Noonan was overheard saying:  "It's over," in refrence to Sarah Palin.

When MSNBC's Chuck Todd asked her if Palin was the qualified woman the Republicans could nominate, and Noonan responded, "The most qualified? No. I think they went for this, excuse me, political bullshit about narratives. Every time the Republicans do that, because that's not where they live and that's not what they're good at, they blow it."

This, of course, is doubly damaging to Noonan -- who just this morning authored a fairly positive opinion piece on Palin, which certainly did not reflect her true views.

Meanwhile, GOP strategist Mike Murphy referred to the decision to pick Palin as"cynical" and "gimmicky."

I think what you have here is three media elites more comfortable with the Georgetown cocktail set than with average Americans. That's why they don't get Sarah Palin -- or her appeal...
