NBC: Coulter Nay, Lewd Blogger OK
Posted by: Amanda Carpenter at 6:21 PM
Matt Drudge is running an exclusive story saying Ann Coulter has been "banned for life" from NBC.

According to his sources, the network spiked a "Today Show" book interview with Coulter in favor of the lewd, gossip blogger Perez Hilton who is best known for photoshopping sexual graffiti on celebrity photographs.

"I guess this ends the 'they just want to get ratings' argument about liberal media bias," says a statement on Coulter's website. She's scheduled for Fox and Friends at 8:15am tomorrow.

NBC is denying the "lifetime ban" Drudge reported, but doesn't have any explanation for booking the celebrity sex blogger over the New York Times best-selling author.

"We've had Ann Coulter on 'Today' many times, but because of the news in Washington and the Middle East, we decided to cancel her appearance tomorrow," NBC told TVNewser. "Understanding the media as well as she does, we are sure she knows this happens from time to time. We look forward to welcoming her back in the future."

thanks for the plug to get people to read my blog lol

I have my first lib fan. haha

I know that Ann is generalizing the welfare state, but when I saw her on Hannity & Colmes the other night I changed my mind about buying her book. She came across as completely lumping every single mother into one pot and that simply is fair. She is entitled to her opinion and yes there are studies that prove points of hers. However, I am an educated young woman with an excellent job raising a baby without the father and my son wants for nothing, is healthy, happy, smart, and well loved and cared for. I will raise him with TRUE traditional values.

But I will NEVER apologize or be sorry that I had him out of wedlock because he is an absolute blessing.

As for 'rights', the Constitution is not stagnant or stuck in 1789. Can't wait until we have a majority that feel that way. Soon, soon."

Surely you see the silliness, here, yes?

On one hand, you revere the Constitution as it is interpreted in heralding in your choice for President, done by the natural right of expressing individual thought, yet in the next sentence, you state that it's intent shouldn't be held because old white men, born over 200 years ago, and their ideas are stagnant and don't reflect society today.

That's nice. Really.

One more example of collectivism for you, since I am trying to help...

Remember the 200o election?

Which political association was going around chanting "the will of the people"?

Which political association always does during an election when the results don't seem to go the way they wish?

FYI, the phrase, "the will of the people" is collective thought.

Learn it.

As for collectism, we just elected a community organizer whose political beliefs resoundingly mirror collectivism.

If you cannot see, or feel collectivism, when we had a significant debate in this country recently, then you may add that term to the list of political philosophies you are ignorant of.

Let me help: try reading some Thomas Paine, for starters.

And collectivism? Really? Where?"

There is no such thing as a "woman's right to choose", and this, more than anything you've cobbled together since this litte tete-a-tete shows your ignorance.

You have 10 rights. Ten. That's all. Do you think that the founders didn't know about abortion? Gays? Any of the other social "rights" that "liberals" such as yourself seem to predicate your existence on?

Do you understand the messes society gets embroiled in when government gets involved in the "rights" business, or is your hubris too challenged to admit that which you see before your very eyes?

Do you know what a natural right is, and where our founders acknowledged their creation from? Do you think that the source of those natural rights would have sanctioned homosexuality, or abortion? Do you understand the "Bill of Rights" and why they deemed them inalienable?

Do you understand why the founders made it absolutely clear that governments (and their branches) have no business creating, or granted through judicial activism, natural rights?

If there is a "right to choose" why are contemporary liberals such as yourself so afraid that a turn of political tides will erase your "rights"? Your "right" is supposedly inalienable, yes?

And you call yourself a "liberal"?

You know nothing of fascism; and, that is clear. I'd like you to post scientific evidence that youths are certain that conservatives are fascists; ergo, they cannot vote for them.

Fascists, indeed.

If that's what you call control, than isn't the "women's right to choose" mantra pretty much the same thing for the left? Oh, that's right. It's only controlling if the side you're against uses it.

It seems like the equivalent of "free-thinking" for political people is wearing an Obama t-shirt to the Southern Baptist Convention, or a Palin t-shirt to a Hollywood premere.

Chloe and Fascism
"The youth vote cannot vote for conservatives because conservatives are, at heart, fascists. They want to control people's personal lives. They hate those who are different than they are."

First, learn what fascism is before your wanton ignorance continues to debase whatever point you tried to make in addressing the matter at hand.

It is not conservatives telling me that I must submit to a collectivist system in the name of "unity".

The basis of your argument, that conservatives are "anti-liberal" merely shows your confusion, as it is conservatism that most highlights "classical liberalism".

You stated that you were a liberal in an earlier post. I take that you mean a contemporary liberal. If so, then you also need to learn the difference between a liberal and a contemporary liberal, and then, you will understand what conservatives fight for, and how far your ideas have strayed from classical thought.

No liberal I know is afraid of a dead man whose widow is actually a proponent of very liberal causes like stem cell research. Were Reagan alive, he'd have had a cow over Palin. Sarah Palin is nothing like what Ronald Reagan was--Reagan was a very smart, experienced man. Sarah is a fraud.

Coulter is like the Wizard of Oz, a fake. But keep making her rich. She laughs all the way to her lesbian lover.

As for Libs fearing Christianity, not at all true. Many of us dislike what some people claim they do in Christ's name (like being anti gay), but not Christ.

As for the 'killing of babies', that's just another way that you righties get controlled by your cynical leadership. How come you can never pass a law that abridges Roe? How come, when you could stop gay marriage (or so you thought) in California, you still lost the parental notification initiative?

Are Republicans the only "minority group" that would patronize a business that so clearly and so disrespected it? Would Blacks go into a diner knowing they would not be served with the same regard as White customers? Would Jews or Hispanics or Gays spend money at a business that was anti-Semitic, or anti-Hispanic, or anti-Gay?

So why should Conservatives? Republican politicians, Republican voters, even those who can walk pass a Republican without spitting should boycott NBC and MSNBC.

Maybe then NBC would learn the meaning of the phrase "fair and balanced".

Chloe:

"Oppose us? Then how come Mr. Obama won by 7.2%? How come Dems control the Senate and House, perhaps by veto proof majorities? Because you conservatives won the day?"

Obama won by winning the youth vote by a 2:1 ratio. These same kids will swing the other way when they realize that one cannot put a politician's campaign promises into political reality.

What is a "veto-proof majority? The President is on their side, so what would they veto?

Conservaties did indeed win the remaining contests, most notably in Louisiana and Georgia, particularly in the runoffs because blacks and youths did not attend these elections as they did in their misguided zeal to elect a black man for President.

The last point, I hope, is not lost on you as to who the Democrat party caters its campaign message to, but will inevitably kick to the curb yet again when vote harvesting season has run its course.

The monolithic black vote has never learned that lesson; but, the youth, all inclusive, and upwardly mobile, will, and these are the voters who will swing conservative as time passes.

If we are judged by our enemies, Ms. Coulter should feel complimented by being banned by NBC.

for Republicans to supposedly care so little about NBC, they sure have alot to say about this hag being permanently kicked off. What kind of person gets dismissed from an entire network of television! That takes a special kind of jerk. Congrats Coulter!

Her book will likely be a best seller because controversy sells - not because the slime in there has any substance. Don't get it twisted.

Amd she can say what she wants about Michelle's wardrobe versus Cindy McCain's but it's Michelle's wardrobe that will hang in the whitehouse closets - and last I checked, that's what counts!

She is a childish, child-less, anorexic lonely person who has simply been dismissed by a network who would rather lose the 10 people who would like to see her on their stations rather than entertain her nonsense. GO NBC! well done.

Liberals will continue to run the show, folks. I love the fact that conservatives have to hope that our country gets attacked and goes further in the economic hole so they can get their power back, power they use mostly to enrich really rich people, and to tell consenting adults what to do in the privacy of their own homes.

This is the best piece of free press I have seen since the NBA initially banned those red Air Jordans in the 80s since they did not like the color. Every kid wanted a pair when Nike ran that commercial. They thought they were banned for performance reasons.

People do not like censorship! If NBC was hoping to hurt her book sales, this is going to have the polar opposite effect. People are going to want to know what she wrote that upset NBC so much.

However, I will concede that CNN slightly leans to the left, and MSNBC is far left. But just like Fox, both networks have their tokens. People like Joe Scarborough, and Pat Buchannan have a heavy presence on MSNBC. And on CNN, Bill Bennet, Tara Walls, and Amy Holmes play their part.

Much of this partisanship is a result of Fox's entrance into news business. Fox has been able to get high ratings as a result of its partisan slant. The other cable networks (particularly msnbc) have foolishly copied this format in attempt to do the same

So then you ascribe to the argument, put forth by the Cassandra of the Right, Coulter, that Sarah Palin is running a 'farm team for future criminals and social outcasts' by helping to raise her new grandson?

"foxnews is far from balanced" well it is sure as heck a better attempt than any other channel. At least we see "weak" liberal represenation on fox opposed to the total lack of any conservative representation from CNN and Good Morning America and on and on. When there are conservatives on the anchors throw hand grenade questions. Sure fox is right leaning but my goodness, all the other news channels are laying on their left side.

Fox news channel is far from balanced, anyone who has ever watched the network should know this. I love how they bring on far right people like Bill Kristol, and Fred Barnes, and then insert these weak pathetic liberals like Juan Williams and Mara Liasson on Fox News Sunday.

Mara Liasson is a joke and Juan Williams shows his true colors on the O'reilly factor where he’s nothing but O’reilly’s lapdog and agrees with everything Bill-O has to say.
Then there’s Alan Colmes, who has been nothing but Hannity’s sidekick and doormat for eight years.

On the rare occasions when Fox brings authentic liberals on the air (people like Phil Donahue, Clarence page, Michael Eric Dyson, or Bill Maher) you actually see a good and lively debate. However, Fox prefers to perpetually use deferential and conciliatory liberals like Williams, Liasson and Colmes who only serve to give the appearance of balance on the network, when the network is anything but balanced.

Your retroactive reasoning stinks about as much as the left's condemnation of Israel in their fight for survival against the terrorist axis. As the major media have moved ever leftward, surprise, a new network appears to the right of them. This new network can then be blamed for the rest of the medias' leftward bias. You will, no doubt, subscribe to the chicken and the egg notion and say it is unclear which came first. You are the kool aid drinker here.

fox to the right? come on..
the only reason why people like frank say that fox is leaning to the right is because networks like nbc, msnbc and others are so looney left and of course being balanced makes you stand out like a sore thumb.

facts, non partisan groups have found that fox is balanced and leads the pack on equal opportunity bashing and praising.

so get your facts straight.

NBC vs. Fox
NBC has made the strategic decision to capture all the viewers the Fox network alienated by oing 100% partisan over the past eight years

As a business model it will work because the cable paradigm defies the rule of three-NBC can afford to directly confront FOX as counter balance be perfectly within their rights and get away with it. I mean why not? Fox has done a variety of beyond the pale things that republicans have accepted as business as usual.

Fox will continue to represent the right and now the NBC corp will continue to shift left.

This opening shot at coulter was a brillinat move because it continues to psuh her out of the mainstream and force republicans to decide if they want to stand with her statements or not.

If we are to believe the popular myth that the MSN was in the tank for Obama then we must admit that part of said bias resulted from the creation of our own right wing new media which frankly was partiuclarly mean spirited last election. Neither sours grapes or Ann Coulter are going to get republicans back in power-however more polarization of media is the last thing either side needs now.

Lola C - You are not quite a master at projection of your own toxicity, but you are an able practitioner. The contortions you must assume in branding Coulter a mysogynist rather than applying the term to the men who use these women and then leave them to raise children alone are incredible. Have you considered joining the circus?

Those of us in the stands await the non-negative, loving, mainstream non-spew of your new statesmen of non-depravity - Al Franken.

According to Coulter
Sarah Palin and clan aren't welcoming the miracle of a new life to their home, they are operating a 'farm team for future criminals and social outcasts'.

So now that we have Coulter's blessing, is it ok surround the Palin home with torches and pitchforks?

Why would a NEWS program on a MAJOR network ban anyone. She is only banned because she doesnt share the same ideas that the nbc idiots share, and their answer is to just BAN her from their station. I thought the airwaves they take up were LOANED to them and belong to us. That the reason WE even let them use the air is that they are SUPPOSED TO BRING US different views and let US decide for ourselves but not any more. And they are mad because she has come out publically with their shameful and bias stand and that they dont report the news they MANAGE it so it means what they want it to.I dont watch nbc, I try and everytime I change the channel in utter disgust and yet at least I try. They need a wakeup call as to how most of us see them and what they do.

Bony a**, but meaty commentary.

Yes, Coulter is SO unpopular that every time her column is posted here, the trolls mass along the borders in droves, hoping to be the FIRST to post, some of them those that have already appeared here. So glad to include you among the many that are testimony to the ratings she brings anywhere she appears.

I'm watching her right now on Hannity's show and can not wait to spend some of my earnings on her new book. I look forward to everything she may have to say about Obama in the next four years, the laughs will be a welcome break from the tears and outrage. The fact that I don't have to tolerate Rachel Maddow for even one second in the hopes of catching Coulter are just a plus.

As for NBC, MSNBC, CNBC or any of their affiliates, I've already heard enough, tingles up the leg by Matthews, heavy breathing by Olbermann and all. And, speaking of Olbermann, give the makeup airbrush a rest, already. He looks as synthetic as Tim Allen as the fake latex Santa in Santa Clause II.

Trash Talk in Book Form
Is everyone here absolutely convinced that Coulter actually and seriously believes the things she says? I'm about 60% convinced that she's doing it all as a shtick, an act, as entertainment and self-aggrandizement. Kind of like Andrew Dice Clay or maybe Don Rickles, throwing insults in all directions just for the sensation.

I've had similar thoughts about Rush Limbaugh. Certainly a lot of what he says is meant to be sensationalist, but I'm more certain that he actually believes his core message. Coulter, probably not.

"We are just not interested in anyone so highly critical of President-elect Obama, right now," a TODAY insider reveals. "It's such a downer. It's just not the time, and it's not what our audience wants, either."

Sooo, only Obamots will watch NBC?? I thought so. They say Annie'll be on CBS's Early Show tomorrow - if that's the case- all 5 of my TV's will be tuned to CBS- and the last time that happened was- ummm NEVER.
