Hey, Sign Me Up.
If folks are so stupid that they walk into a lamppost while texting, the obvious solution is to remove manhole covers, stairwell barriers, and wood chipper guards. This would provide endless amusement for those who aren't so sadly afflicted.

Then again, the Big Brother Brit police are watching these hapless losers marching to their fate on CCTV, so why don't they issue warnings over the public loudspeakers?

Now, as for the helmet/elbow pad suggestion, this is what I call universal health care! Give everyone a helmet and elbow pads. We all would need to wear a mouthguard, too. Call that universal dental care.

Criminalize obesity - put me in the lock-up for about 8 months on bread and water, so I can fit into size 34 jeans again, just like Tony Orlando!

Now that I think about it, why give any protection to kids? They haven't earned the right to swim upstream. Most of them are ungrateful, have poor hygiene, and carry horrific rhinovirii. Let them earn those hideous disfiguring scars, like the rest of us.

Survival of the fittest, I say! Once they hit 21, or 18 if are a straight-A science/math student, then they earn their helmet, pads, and mouthguard.

It would be wise to teach one's children not to whine, because that would make it easier for the boogiemen to find their next meal!

You do realize that the ban on the "walk 'n text" is just around the corner. The only question is whether they'll ban walking and chewing gum first.
