Bachmann's Fighting Alone Now
Posted by: Amanda Carpenter at 6:10 PM
The National Republican Congressional Committee, tasked with raising money for GOP congressional candidates, is blowing off Rep. Michele Bachmann after she came under fire for a recent appearance on Hardball.

Last Sunday I posted how the liberals were going crazy after Bachmann said William Ayers was un-American and openly wondered about Ayers's influence on Barack Obama on Hardball. Chris Matthews spun it to sound like Bachmann said ALL liberals were un-American, the liberal blogs blogged about it and Bachmann's Democratic opponent cashed in big time.

So what does the NRCC do when the going gets tough for Bachmann? They get going. Far, far away from her. Politico reported today they were "abandoning" her as her race became more competitive.

Here is her online contribution page if any Townhallers are inclined to step in and help where the NRCC won't. Bachmann is a reliable conservative vote in the House and you all know her from her blogs here at Townhall.

Update: Redstate is pretty mad about this as well. Editor Erick Erikson is calling NRCC Chairman Tom Cole words I wouldn't print here. He notes that Cole has been sending money to Don Young in Alaska.  Rep. Young is currently embroiled in a corrpuption scandal for earmarking funds for roadways in Florida in exchange for campaign cash.

This is what she said...
On Friday, Bachmann was asked by host Chris Matthews whether she believes that Obama may have anti-American views. She replied, "Absolutely. I'm very concerned that he may have anti-American views."

Now she says she never accused Obama of being anti-American.

Judge for yourself.
Dave writes: Wednesday, October, 22, 2008 6:24 PM
That's Right
Matthews spun it. That's what happened. No, she didn't make a complete fool of herself. It was Christ Matthews.

What's the beef?
We're entitled to question the motives and the intellect, judgment and patriotism of any citizen.

Back her back 100%. What is this thin shouldred stuff? We loathe Chris Matthews and most of us do think liberals are un American and would import Hugo Chavez as a hero into our lives if they could get away with it.

A generation ago these individuals were shouting "Ho Ho Ho Chi Min" at the military returning home from South East Asia.

Go Michele Bachmann.
RNCC get on the troop train.

Thanks AC!
I just donated $100. I also donated to McCain the same day he picked Palin.

I will not donate to the NRCC.

Oh, ore-ele, since when is it a crime to speak the truth. oblama is anti-american and so are each and every one of his supporters.

So stick that up your trunk and suck real hard. You'll need the practice!

No, amandahannity,
We went after her for saying that Liberals, leftist and Senator Obama were anti-American for "who they associate with". This, from a woman who suggested that her peers in Congress - Democrats only, of course - should be investigated for their 'views'. Joe McCarthy, anyone?

Bachmann, with her wild, loony eyes, railed for a full 7 minutes about 'associations' with "anti-Americans", never once acknowledging that by her own standards, Palin has ties to the VERY "anti-American" AIP in Alaska or that McCain has his own questionable ties to "anti-American" G.Gordon Liddy. Nor, I might add, did she address the fact that many, many, MANY Republicans have strong connections to "anti-American" Mr. Ayers - people like the VERY Republican Annenburgs, who are big time friends of Ronnie and Nancy Reagan. Shall we investigate Nancy as well?

This woman dug her own defeatist grave by being about as intolerant and loonie as one can get. The fact that she even made it into Congress in the first place is shocking, to win again would be heresy.

Cole must resign immediately
Tom Cole needs to resign ASAP. To think that I gave money to the NRCC because I thought they got the message in 2006. Call his office and tell him to resign Thurs. I already gave $ to her campaign.
karmic backlash writes: Wednesday, October, 22, 2008 6:41 PM
The RNC dumped her
and not surprisingly. It is TRUE that the Republican Party is trying to keep the incumbent seats in Congress - and yet, they're letting poor Michelle "Spinning Eyes" Bachmann fend for herself? Very telling, folks. Even her own, desperate Party has stepped away from her hateful, loony self.
Trampling out the vintage writes: Wednesday, October, 22, 2008 6:48 PM
Republicans seem to be abandoning a lot.
That is the message. What is the RNCC's problem? I am sick of Republicans having to mince our words in this overly sensitive media. The democrats have complete free speech, yet the Republicans are railroaded on every syllable. We need to clean up the RINO's in our party!

When will we finally lose our free speech completely? You can bet your butt that the Fairness Doctrine will be back soon! Isn't that anti-America? Barack wants to take away 1st Ammendment Rights to free speech... isn't that anti-American? The answer is YES!

Obama does have some anti-American views! Just wait until after the election if you don't believe me! Come on RNCC, support Michelle Bachman when she calls a spade, a spade!
Chrystopher S. writes: Wednesday, October, 22, 2008 6:51 PM
Yeah... She
stepped in it, but the RNC shouldn't have cut and ran on that one.
Oregon Elephant writes: Wednesday, October, 22, 2008 6:53 PM
Don
Whatever on the insults.

It's amazing that you said "she spoke the truth" and she DENIED having accused Obama of being anti-american, after she accused him of that, and now says she doesn't think he's anti-american.

So...do you still think she's honest?
Oregon Elephant writes: Wednesday, October, 22, 2008 6:54 PM
Also Don...
Using military service dates, as if that makes your opinions more "right", is a little silly. I was in the military too, but that has nothing to do with whether I'm right or wrong.
JD2008 writes: Wednesday, October, 22, 2008 6:57 PM
The only way Bachmann
is at fault here, is if the NRCC specifically told her and all republicans to stay away from Matthews, otherwise she should get the money. The real mistake Republicans made this year was splitting the party and allowing the president to be sacrificed and the media define them. In 06 the admin was wrong for not dumping Rumsfeld earlier, (Lincoln went through 6 or 7 top generals before he found Grant), and splitting the party with immigration. This year the party was wrong for leaving the president hanging and not going after Pelosi, Reid, and Frank more. So this Bachmann thing is dwarfed by comparison, but the party is wrong.

Hard choices
Look, clothes at Niemann-Marcus in Minneapolis are really, really expensive, folks. So when Sarah needed 75 thousand smackers to pay her bill (plus another 75 thou elsewhere) you just have to cut corners.

Times are tough, haven't you heard? Like all American families the Repubs have to make these decisions every day!

Support Bachmann - She's the Real Deal
Bachmaan is the type of congressional leader who the founders had in mind when they envisioned a country represented by principled, courageous, hard workin Americans with sound judgment.

In contrast, the nut-rooters and the MSM despise her and want to railroad her. Pelosi is targeting her directly.

I just made a contribution at her website and I encourage all of you to consider.

She has a record of fighting for American principals and we will need her in Washington regardless of who wins the election.

Not Surprising At All
The RNC as it's currently organized is a bunch of Democrat-Lite panty-waists that need to swept out. When you are willing to surrender at the first shot, you should not be in the fight. We have only a few willing to fight for us and Bachman is one of them. It's the RNC that's the problem. They wanted McAmnesty.

It's no longer a double standard, when it comes to them there is no standard, and when it comes to us, there is a bar unattainable.

There IS no Republican Party
Just a country club of elite liberals who wish they haled from Democrat districts. People like McCain for instance. Have the good sense to vote AGAINST the one-party system by voting 3rd party. You are only making things worse trying to get McCain elected. The GOP has taken us to the brink of a major global depression and has responded by nationalizing the banks and opening up the flood gates of deficit spending. How bad can Obama be for the next two years? We need to set ourselves up for 2010.

I have a feeling Bachmann will be there in 2010 but will the Republican party? Not if McCain wins!

GOP Stupidity
This kind of stupidity will guarantee that the Republican party will become and remain a permanent minority party for generations to come. What is it with these spineless national GOP leaders? They need to grow some balls. Can you imagine the Donkey Party abandoning ANY of their candidates, no matter how stupid any statement or depraved a behavior? Heck, for the Democrats this would be resume enhancement.

Bachmann and MSNBC(S)
Anybody who goes on MSNBS is foolish. I love Bachmann, but in this PC world, with the media we're in, she got herself in trouble with that comment, especially with Matthews on Screwball (to quote Mark Levin) for twisting her words, which is what the Liberals do on that network, courtesy of the Daily Kos and Media Matters.

I hope Bachmann wins, she was right on the bailout, great on energy, believes in victory in the war against Radical Jihadism. It's bad move for the RNCC to back that crook, Young and NOT Bachmann.

No GOP member should go on MSBNS with any of three stooges are on that network: (David "Karl Rove will be indicted" Shuster, Chris "I get a thrill up my leg" Matthews and Keith "Go back to Sportscenter and stop giving Special Communist Rants" Olbermann.

You get my drift. I'm not a fan of MSNBS.

Note: the House GOP better wise up and make Mike Pence the new Minority Leader and Tom Price or Steve King the new head of RNCC. Remember, Pelosi chose Rahm Emmanuel (former Bill Clinton staffer) and Chris Van Hollen, two Liberals to run the DNCC. It's time for true Conservatives to get back in the House Leadership to stand up to the Moveon.org Democrats in Congress and the Media.

Living in Minnesota Michelle is one of the few Conservatives we have left in this state. This coming from the state who may elect Al Frankin our next senator.

I pray is she can weather this out and hopefully run in four years for the senate seat held by Any Klobuchbar

Go Michelle you represent your district and your state well.

Take Responsibility For Your Rage
America is tired of bug-eyed fools like Bachmann labeling anybody they disagree with as "Anti-American" -- it's Rush Limbo's favorite ploy.

And there are millions of working folk who will vote for Obama and they're sick of being called traitors.

That's why you will lose this election. Thinking your raging fundy base of talk radio loons could continue to influence the election outcome. No more.

Rush etc. are about to find j consigned to the dust heap of the 20th century as history rolls over the dying carcas of the rabid neo-con GOP. Rebulid it for the better.

MSNBC has become a one stop shop for liberals. People can learn how to commit voter fraud, select future supreme court judges, choose the president and vice president, cover for the thugs in congress that put us in a financial crisis, report absolute lies about Sarah Palin and John McCain.

Crazy People on the Far Right
The majority of the commenters on this thread give me renewed hope for the coming death of the republican party and the conservative movement. They are enthusiastic, rabid supporters of Bachmann, an obvious complete loon, and willing, even eager, to split their own party into pieces for her.

I'd bet that 99.9% of Bachmann supporters are also strong Palin supporters. There's a strong similarity between the two: crazed far-right opinions, self-centeredness, complete conviction in the correctness of their fruit-loop ideas, a shallow intellect and knowledge base.

typical RNC
Some folks in the above thread nailed it: the RNC is a delicate flower when it comes to defending the Truth.

Here's another secret: there are plenty of black republicans (some of who are actually conservative as well) running for office but the RNC/GOP refuse to back them with money because they think they can't win NOW. No need to plan for the future I guess. What a bunch of short-term thinking fools. That's why, instead of the first Black REPUBLICAN prez - the Dem/libs get to have one. Yay! I wonder why I won't vote for the Stupid Party this time?

There are many dems who are un American and it is about time someone called them out. With Obama stating how our national image is not good is a person saying he does not love his country. He praises the infastructure in a town in China he saw on the television and criticizes our infastructure. Sounds un American to me. Even Chris Matthews, along with uber furher Olberman, despise, hate this country and you are a liar is you dispute this. I will support and donate to this woman. About time someone called a spade a spade.

I've been
getting periodic begging letters from the RNCC and send them back ..empty..and informing them I
am supporting individual CONSERVATIVE candidates.
When I heard Cole got the job, there was no way I'd give that RINO the time of day never mind one red cent.
I just sent in some small contributions to several individuals..Russell, Sand, I just forgot
the other one whose going against Lurch in MA..it's up on the ceiling somewhere. Instead of voting third party, we should support the ones that are individual conservatives. The more we can elect to join Mike Pence the better.

I AM calling RNCC tomorrow. It's outrageous that
they won't help black conservatives get elected,
because in their opinion, being the raving geniuses that lost the House in '06 they don't think they can be elected..sooo give it to the DemonRAT running for the same seat..DUH...and we think Biden is STOOPID!
