He lamented the fact that the Constitution neglected to list what the government must do on your behalf: insure economic equality and justice thru redistribution of wealth.
But not to worry. The Constitution could be circumvented by the legislature and the judiciary.
Of course, this was all tried (to great economic disaster) by FDR. At least in FDR's day, the courts fought back.
Nowadays, nobody sees a national health care plan as unconstitiutional. But it clearly is as well as mosst Proud Progressive policies. |

Every major policy that Obama has endorsed/pushed is a policy that I believe will contribute to the failure and ruination of our great nation. For starters: the stimulus bill, cutting the military, stopping missile defense, de-nukifying our country, diplomacy with (and tacit support of) tyrants, sucking up to the Arab world at the expense of Israel (he's still working up to officially throwing Israel under the bus), health care reform with the "public option," cap-and-trade, and nationalizing private industry. I'm sure I missed a bunch of policies, probably related to ACORN and the unions, but that's plenty for now. |
