What's "tragic" is the fact that even after the military and intelligence knew this guy was having all these psychological conflictions about being a Muslim on the one hand, and an Army officer for the U.S. on the other- they took no action to ameliorate the situation before it came to something like this.

My wife said, "Boy, somebody on his staff is going to get fired - they didn't even tell him about the shootings." Obama gave his shout out, pointed his politician's finger at a guy who was probably embarrassed at the impropriety of Obama's demeanor. So after a few minutes, Obama wipes the campaign half smile from his face when he realizes "Oh, yeah. Gotta talk about this shooting." My father, my uncles and most of the soldiers who fought came from European nations with the same cultural and religious background of those they were fighting.

I do think it is important that we wait to pass full judgment until we have a better understanding of this incident. However, the facts that we know are that he is a Muslim, and I don’t think it is irresponsible to state that fact. Whether it was an act of terror or whether it was a mental crazy person snapping will be debated over the coming weeks, but the fact that he is a Muslim is as relevant in the speculation going on as the fact that he was a major, or that he was a psychologist (or psychiatrist?). These are all facts that we know. We’re just too afraid and too PC oriented to include his religious affiliation to the discussion.

Colonel Tom Lee reported that he had heard Hasan say that Muslims fighting Muslims wasn't right. He was a Muslim. Recently in Afghanistan, the military raided and captured a Taliban base camp. There were many children there. As US Military videotaped some of the children (mostly boys) after capturing the base, it was noted that the children were extremely joyous.

Yes I think this misfit to society uses the name Lonny as well but I suspect we will see a new moniker to replace the septic one very soon. Very easy to spot though the same trash always comes out. |

Me- No, I don't blame the victim. The victims were 13 soldiers who were caught in the crossfire, not the institution of the Army that probably knew this guy was a problem but kept him on duty, anyway.

we are so desperate for warm bodies to fight the "worldwide war on terror" that they didn't do anything to get rid of this guy. Their standards are quite low these days, and even with low standards, they are having trouble attracting soldiers, etc.
We need to reinstitute the draft, though that will assure that 95% of the draftees will claim to be gay or lesbian. |
