Today, I'm excited to unveil a project that's been a long time in the making: Rightroots.com. For the first time ever, Republicans have the power to contribute to any Republican federal candidate -- not just the ones approved by party leaders -- from one website, like ActBlue.
In the beta version, you'll be able to search for candidates in an easy-to-use, shopping cart interface. We have multiple slates to help you get started, including a list of House conservatives who've voted 100% of the time against all earmarks (including Townhall's very own John Campbell), a list of Presidential candidates (tip: Rightroots' processing fees are lower than most candidates' websites, so this is the place to contribute), a list of key House challengers, the leaders in the fight against the immigration bill, and key Senate races.
Coming up: the ability to create your own slate, with embeddable widgets and graphics to promote your slate.
Townhall's Mary Katharine Ham and Matt Lewis will be advising us as we continue to build and improve the site. Watch our for an announcement later today of more bloggers who are supporting this effort at our beta blog.
We're not done with this yet by any means. I'm sure we'll get a ton of suggestions and constructive criticisms, and we're inviting people to weigh in over at the blog on what they'd like to see next. This is a site built for the online community, by the online community.
If this sounds at all familiar: yes, this grew out of the successful Rightroots campaign last year which raised $300,000 for conservative House and Senate challengers. The name stuck, so we're in the process of renaming the entire site in its honor, with contributions proudly (and cheaply!) powered by ABC PAC.
With the rightroots flexing its muscle in the last few weeks, a huge online training next week in D.C. for tech-savvy conservatives, and now Rightroots.com, conservatives online are fighting back and ready to beat Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.

you didn't say you were supporting the Dems, I never said you did. But, when we withhold support for our side, we are essentially helping the others. I've held my nose, contributed to the party and voted for imperfect candidates my entire life - because the alternate of sitting on my hands is essentially helping the Dems get elected.
Again - don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good. |
|
I agree with you.
Where is the fence?
As a Conservative I do not see much differance between Republicans and Socialist (d) on many issues. If the Socialist (d) would move the Blacks off of their social experiment plantation and boot the envirowhackjobs to the curb. Our two political parties would be one in the same.
Out President and House of Rep. are the best Government Mexico has had in many years.

Please, if you would indulge me, where in my post did I say I was voting democrat? One thing which persistently occurs on this site (and others, to be fair) is reading so many responses which: 1.) do not pertain to the original message 2.) inject meaning into the original message which was never there. 3.) take out of context that which was in the original message 4.) other examples of the responder not fully reading the message they are responding to. One such example occurred earlier today with a response I received from Illiterate Patriot (on another article here).
Moqui, I mean no ill will towards you, believe me. Please know there are many ways to send a message to a political party, other than supporting the opposing party. I believe the republican party is fully aware that contributions to the RNC have flagged. Despite comments by liberals, leftists, commies, socialists, democrats, victocrats, and the like, I do not think republicans nor the RNC are st*pid. Slightly dense? Perhaps.
Moqui, I am a conservative first, "nuff said. |

I have been contributing to those who I want to support now for 8 years. The RNC simply does not share with us those House or Senate races with some new , bright, up and comers who are conservs especially in the primary races. This time has come and I pray that you will, Patrick, put this out on more than townhall.com forums so many Pubs can make use of this service. |

None of the links work to the site. I get a "Server Error in '/' Application" message and "The page cannot be found" message. Maybe because it's lunch time. |
|
thank you for taking the lead in getting the GOP in the game.
clarityseeker: as Hugh would say, whatever your problems are, I guarantee the solution is not electing more democrats. Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good. |
|
clarity seeker, find out which ones follow those ideals, whether and democratic or republican and donate man.
I think that sees the end of my donations to the RNC. |
|
|
In my case it's easy... Build the Fence... |
|
|
about dam* time! GREAT idea! |
|
|
Sweet.....now all you have to do is convince me that republicans will follow more conservative ideas, platforms, thoughts, concepts, with a good dose of follow through, and I will then know where to go to contribute to such representives of same. Not until. |
|
I just looked at the site and it seems a great idea both in ease of donation and in its commmunity building potential. The consolidation of data and the ability to immediately act upon that data is something that has been missing from the net for right thinking people.
Perhaps it will also contain the planks and stated positions of the opposition candidates and relevant information and links that can help us (in our local communities) to successfully refute them.
Thanks Patrick and all others working on this project |

Glad it is up and running! |
