Breaking: LA Attorney General's Agents Raid New Orleans ACORN Office
Posted by: Meredith Jessup at 2:41 PM
BigGovernment.com is reporting on some developments out of Louisiana this afternoon regarding state action against the community organizing group ACORN:
News of the raid comes from Marcel Reid and her colleagues at ACORN 8, an association of former ACORN leaders and board members. Many of the individuals involved with ACORN 8 were fired from ACORN for demanding a forensic audit following an embezzlement scandal involving Dale Rathke, brother of ACORN co-founder Wade Rathke.
According to NOLA.com:

Attorney General Buddy Caldwell has served a search warrant at the ACORN office at 2609 Canal Street, according to Tammi Arender Herring, a spokeswoman with the office.

Investigators in khaki pants and polo shirts loaded several dozen computers and other electronic items into an SUV. They are also carrying records out of the building on handcarts.

The large office building sits at the corner of Dorgenois and Canal. ACORN staffers were given no notice that a search would be conducted today, Herring said.
Whole story here.

From WDAM in New Orleans:

Assistant Attorney General David Caldwell said a warrant was obtained to seize computers, hard drives and other documents after ACORN attorneys said two unidentified former employees took computers and other items when they left the organization.

Caldwell said investigators will copy records and hard drives, then return them to ACORN.

He said the original allegations of embezzlement were made last year by ACORN board members who were fired after they asked for a forensic examination of the group’s books.

ACORN fired the longtime director of its Louisiana chapter last month, citing a lack of accountability.

Whole story here.

The ‘longtime director’ of ACORNS’s Louisiana chapter is Beth Butler, the longtime companion of ACORN co-founder Wade Rathke.

Stay tuned--I'll try and keep you updated as more info becomes available...

Thank you FBI.
Please keep supporting the American law. We are more and more feeling like no-one is following the law, and Acorn has a presidential pass to break as many laws as they want.Unfortunately it will take a civil war to wipe them all out.Keep em loaded people.

Why did this take so long?
If it was determined there was just cause to take this action-----WHY NOW?

It's not as if any new revelations have come forth on this scurrilous lot.
Hmmmmmmmm....perhaps the feds gave ACORN plenty of time to hide the nuclear weapons---as was done in Iraq before we ultimately went in there?

If this is Louisianna
law enforcement, then Assistant Attorney General David Caldwell will be OK. If Mr. Caldwell is is a federal attorney general, then he ain't long for his job!

Go get 'em
Between newspapers going under, the free publicity of FOX and talk radio by the WH, the awakening of the public to their empty wallets, and the rapid destruction of ACORN..., conservative victories in '10 and '12 are looking more promising.

And if the Dems socialize the healthcare industry (even more), the Democrat Party will be toast for at least a generation. Maybe more. Heck, we could even see Democrats in DC change parties, ala '94.
