More Thoughts On Steele

It's remarkable how much strife Steele has tolerated in his political career. A lot of other people would have called it quits.
Not this guy.
He's had Oreos thrown at him, been called Sambo and endured all kinds of hateful, racist attacks for having the nerve to be black and Republican.
These are things I have known for awhile, but I am guessing the liberal left who already has an eye on destroying this guy, well, they have no idea what he is made of.
If you want to know more about what Steele had to go through while carrying the GOP banner in the true-blue state of Maryland, here's a good place to start reading.

First the Republicans stood tall together in the House, then this. This has been a fabulous week for Republicans. Suddenly, Republicans see a light at the end of the tunnel and truly authentic hope&change for America's future.
Certainly Mr. Steele is capable of rising to the challenges that will be thrown his way. Mr. Steele can help our promising rising stars restore America to her proper place on her pedestal.
What these radically liberal Democrats in command now fail to understand is that most Americans truly love America and think she's the most wonderful country on earth. There's no place we'd rather be.
IMHO, America was blessed by God while our founders were busy writing (and praying). That's what makes America so miraculously great.
Now the question is: are Americans willing to accept a forced lowering of our standard of living and just be mediocre? I doubt it. |

Congratulations to the GOP for electing Mr. Steele as its new chair. It's good news for all Americans that a more moderate and potentially more unifying candidate emerged compared with some of the more extreme and polarizing voices out there.
Included in the latter is that of Brickhouse: "What these radically liberal Democrats in command now fail to understand is that most Americans truly love America..." This utter tripe unfortunately often passes for political commentary at TH and other forums. One hopes that Mr. Steele will marginalize voices like Brickhouse and provide leadership more worthy of American ideals than the GOP has offered in recent decades.
And, as a bonus, the selection is another break in the color barrier that may allow the party a future other than the Grumpy Old White People's party. While it could make Dems like myself nervous at times, it's ultimately good for the country. |

Steele is going to move the GOP forward. His election is a sign that the bitter clingy bible thumpers ar no longr charting the helm of the GOP-Steele understands the need to build coalitions and outreach.
Steele is not going to involve himself with moderate purges or the politics of Rush Limbaugh-indeed it is a fine day. |

The last two posters are moronic liberals who do not understand the reason for Republican decline. We ran McCain, remember? He was the most liberal Republican the MSM could foist off on us. The tactics the Democrats use are to have the press select a candidate for us that no one will vote for. |
|
|
And I am sorry for the crap he has put up with. |
|
M. Steele is a leader. Thats something that The GOP really needs right now. After having none during the fall. The Dems are going to come after him because they fear him. No way he sits still for the attacks that are no doubt coming his way. This man is a born leader with a clear message. I have no doubt about the way he will lead the party. |

...of the emperor's legions are already trashing Mr. Steele. See the blog preceding this one. Now that they have elected a half-black president, they will perceive a built-in immunity when attacking a Republican of full African lineage. It's moronically ironic that these lefty-lib minions of the emperor lob the "oreo" label against conservative black people, but give a pass to their own half-white emperor. |

My now 95 year old father-in - law and his old doggie, made the trip from N.J. to Maryland to cast a ballot in person for Mr. Steele. He did not want to mail in an absentee because "we know what can happen???" This old gentleman was so impressed with this fine man that he put himself, his old Beagle, and everyone else on the N.J. turnpike in jeopardy to witness his ballot dropped in the box . Yesterday was a great day for the R.N.C.! Congratulations !! |
|
"He's had Oreos thrown at him"
You do know that that turned out to be something that Steele himself made up, right? |
|
|
Uh no it wasn't. Showed it on the local news during the election. So please talk about something you know about... |
|
"Showed it on the local news during the election."
That's my local news, too. Never happened. Steele said on WTOP that a single cookie may have rolled near his foot. The Baltimore Sun investigated it in depth, interviewed a whole bunch of people who were there. Not a single person collaborated the rumor, and no one would admit having started it.
If it had been shown on the local news, there would be pictures available on the web showing it. Heck, there'd be U-tube clips; this was supposedly just three years ago.
And remember, Steele has been caught lying before. |
|
...it is lefty libs who constantly project their own obnoxious, racist, intolerant, hate-filled, incoherent, illogical, irrational "feelings" unto conservatives. Your predictability is legendary.
Logically one assumes you must be a GOP tool - a Rovian creation. The fact is, your postings are very counterproductive to your professed ideologies. So you're either a GOP tool, or you're a psychopath. |
|
Mr. Steele gave it right back to Mike Wallace 's lame interview . " Are'nt you afraid of been called an obstructionist if you don't roll over and gimme a paw ? " Isn't the job of the other side to put up road blocks? When we acquiesce " cave " , they rub our noses in the mess forevermore !! The hosts of B.O.s suck-up talk shows are still all a gackle over this Cotton club escapee. Hey , the smoke filled back rooms are back ! Party hearty! Love to see a debate between Mr. Steele and the presselect. What a hoot ! |
|
This is the first time in a long while that I feel some confidence in the D.N.C. This man is not flipping around like a tooth fairy, extracting gold teeth for a nickel under the pillow. As an aside , did B.O. lose Kentucky ? Has there been a mention ? Mr. Steele would have done the right thing, reach out to the folks ? Even though it's not a welfare swamp, the good folks are in need .
