Minority Leader John Boehner just gave a press conference, and blamed Speaker Nancy Pelosi for killing the vote. Boehner said it would have passed, "had it not been for this partisan speech the Speaker gave on the floor of the House." He went on to lament that just before the vote came up, "... the Speaker had to give a Partisan voice that poisoned our caucus ..."
Rep. Eric Cantor said of Pelosi's speech, it "was inappropriate in this discussion."
National Review's Rich Lowry writes:
"House Republicans will get blamed, and the likes of Mike Pence indeed played an extremely irresponsible role. But Pelosi didn't exactly make the sale with her own members, more than 90 of whom voted against it."

Wake up woman, this is a problem of the Democrats wanting to socially engineer our country. This problem has been brewing since 1992 with Clinton and his community re-investment garbage. The only things that the Republicans are guilty of are not holding true to their fiscal conservatism. Do some real research and find out how the whole thing came down and stop being ignorant and listening to sound bites created by people like Pelosi, Frank, Dodd, and Schumer. They knew about the problem for the last two years and still refused to do anything about it. Wake up and smell the coffee baby, this is a bi-partisan problem. |

The only thing to thank Pelosi for is having a big mouth lol
Most of the votes were cast against the bill inspite of her incessant babbling about how Bush is evil and the GOP are to blame for everything to ever go wrong in America.
And Rashum I couldn't agree more. Makes blood pour from my ears...blah!!! |

I think I hear the same thing - also when congressman f-g speaks! |

Thank God for Pelosi and everyone else who voted against this bill. This is a high crime for Bush and all the wall street thugs. When did we the people start getting bullied by wall street to cough up the money or they will lead us to oblivion? Tell them to take their greedy panic-based 'bail out plan' and go get a real job. |

Rich Lowry is an idiot! There are too many Beltway conservatives concerned about liberals' good opinion of them! The American people know a bad plan when they see it and this was the largest corporate welfare bill in history. The House made the right call in voting it down! America will survive. |

in the same world as the rest of us?
BTW, haven't seen KL on today. The AM version of him must be studying for a test or something. |
|
All I hear 95% of the time Pelosi speaks is that voice the adults have in Charlie Brown.
Wahawawawaha
There needs to be more accountability here. If I don't pay my carpayment, should I call Pelosi and ask her for the cash? |

....is the perfect figurehad for a hapless, rudderless party thathas no ideology at all save for the blind hatred of the far left.
Even if they did suddenly discover principles (such as representation), they are too far into the pockets of Soros and company to have any freedom to do anything but spout the party line.
It is amusing to me how genuinely confused they look every four Novembers to find they have lost again. They truly don't understand that America rejects them.....
Nancy was a useful idiot for the good guys today, so we should be thankful for that.... |

I guess we can add the name "Shelly" now! |

We need more time to allow Americans to know what really caused this crisis before we go about trying to address the problems. We need to let these institutions fail, let institutions that are doing their jobs correctly pick up the peices and once that is done, we can put a stimulous package together. The media MUST get the message out of the truth behind the sub-prime mortgage debacle that people like Barney Frank pushed down the throats of Americans. This videa is the best one out there for now. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5tZc8oH--o |

I frankly haven't watched her speech, but if I know her and I believe I do, she is just like Katie Couric and Bill Moyers (actually those two would make a beautiful couple). Nancy Pelosi is no less partisan than say Ted Kennedy who probalby is on his way out of the Senate permenantly. No Great Loss. So without seeing her speech, I say, "give her the benefit of the doubt.......till I hear otherwise. Colonel Jon Rambo |

Pelosi and Harry Reid were the ones pushing hardest for this bill, they could have had it passed last Friday but she "wanted repubublicans on board" so if the boondoogle failed she could blame the R's instead of the D's.
You really need to get your head out of the sand, it was the demoncrats that got us into this huge financial mess in the first place.
I for one am glad that she let her freudian tongue slip once again, it just shows the shill that she really is.
Bush did not create this mess, and I am glad the R's abandoned him this time. It was a bad bill through and through.
Let Wall street fall on its face, let the banks that were strong armed by the Democratic party fail too. Their worthless paper mortgages will be picked up by a reputable lender when the time is right and all will be well in America once more. |

We CNBC on tv at work - we were all shocked that Pelosi started her speech with a partisan attack!
Not to mention what she said was complete nonsense. Bush inherited a tech bubble that had burst from Clinton! |
