HamNation: The Dysfunctional Exes of American Politics
Posted by: Mary Katharine Ham at 12:36 PM

In light of the ridiculousness from both sides of the aisle during leadership elections this week, I thought I'd analyze the motivations of a "dumped" political party, and how they respond to rejection. I'm no Dr. Phil, but I do what I can. Enjoy!

Great stuff, Mary!
Thanks for making the the Big Leap and actually eating pork rinds.

MKH...at Sundance Film Festival ?

MKH,

Great stuff.
As a result of this episode of "HamNation" and the GOTV parody of the dating chat line you did a couple weeks ago, I'm nominating you for "Blogger With Most Potential To Have a Successful Career as an Actress in Character- Driven Independent Films."

Say YES
Well, I say yes to MKH and Ham Nation. Pork rinds.. Good one :)

Wait a second...
Those weren't pork rinds, they were Funyuns! When will the lies out of DC end?
Mary Katharine writes: Thursday, November, 16, 2006 5:24 PM
I'm caught!
They were Funyuns! Gross! But they didn't have pork rinds at the store. This is definitely NOT the South.

Pork rinds....?
I think those were Funyons! Come Clean Hammer!

Whadda Mean She Isn't Coming Back!
You mean that sitting around in an old tshirt, eating ho ho's, and watching Ham Nation isn't going to win her back! I've been fooled!

Food Fight!
Excellent "Ham Nation", Mary Katharine!

Funyuns???

Ho-Hos???... C'mon!

The food of choice for distraught exes, especially those from the South; should be Turtles and Cookie Dough Ice cream!

Judging fom Pelosi's less than exceptional first outing ala Murtha/Hoyer. Shouldn't the Psycho Chick film clip have been Glenn Close in "Fatal Attraction"?

Jack.

Awesome analogy!!!
It was one of those "duh", hit myself in the forehead moments!

I personally like Funyuns. However, they are a poor substitute for pork rinds.

Worse than no pork rinds ...
MK: "They were Funyuns! Gross! But they didn't have pork rinds at the store. This is definitely NOT the South."

Worst part about living in DC: Being north of "the sweet-tea line." You have to buy that stupid bottled stuff that's always too sweet and is sweetened with high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS).

However, there is always Checkers, which has REAL sweet tea. A bit too sweet for my taste, but at least it's sweetened with sugar. And their chili dogs are OK, too. It's not The Varsity, though.

MKHam. . .
Living up to your name. Ha! Enjoyed that 4 minutes. And can identify to the max. I'm putting down my pork skins (we call 'em chicherones down here in Texas). My question is what are we going to do to dislodge these bozo's? And I'm not talking about the Congress/Senate. I'm speaking of those that plan and implement the strategies. The "strategerists" if you will. [The ones responsible for convincing "W" to ignore and "dis" his solid, ultra loyal base when they cried for help in securing the out-of-control southern border "and" instead pander and slobber for the hispanic vote (which never materialized).] Whew! That was a mouthful. Did I need more comma's there? I degress... But these scoundrels are the real culprits. And these are the ones we should be able to do something about. They're not elected but hired. And they can be fired. If they were descent they would have already resigned. My only idea so far is to find a way to cut off dollars. Stop contributions. But my measly donations won't be missed. But 50 million republican voters donations might be missed. I would think. MKH we need to recognize the real culprits here and develop a stategy for getting them out of these very important positions of influence. They are directing the party down some destructive path. I'm thinking Rove and Mehlman. But I'm sure there are others. Lets forget about the Senate, Congress and President Bush. They are all very lame ducks. They're elected and not much can be done about them. But we should have some say, as Republicans, as to what direction the party is being moved and who is moving it. Or am I just missing something? Ya Your Missing Something !!!
Darvin asked "I just missing something"? Well daa! This isnt the ending of the begining. This is the begining of the end. 20, 40, 100 million new non-educated, unskilled, citizens sucking on the public teet and all about to have new voting rights. A couple of Ruth Buzzie Ginsburg types getting appointed to the court. Well it was fun while it lasted. Hammie might have thought her vid was in jest but it spoke volume's.

Don't worry
Liberals aren't even up to speed yet.
After getting their noses rubbed in a fresh steaming pile of Liberalism the Repubs will start to catch on.
Forty years of flashback reruns is guaranteed to put some grit back into craws of Republicans.
They’ll get their fill of being drubbed soon enough.
Some true grit might even lead to the return of staunch Conservatism.
Go ahead George crawl into bed with the Demos, you just better wear some protection and climb out the window because Conservative Americans are watching.

Nice!
Brava! An excellent analogy, especially with regards to the ongoing Republican idiocy. BTW, my sympathies for having to actually EAT the funions. Yech! The reason pork (both the pig and the money) is so insidious is that it is SO bad for you but it tastes SO good! Still and all, keep up the great work and confusion to the socialists!

Given that it's Trent Lott who's back, I think you should be on the couch eating Moon Pies and drinking Dr Pepper - the classic Southern comfort food.

Great video. You're cute and smart. Great combination.

Is anyone Listening?
The message is being sent... is the GOP leadership listening?

Doesn't appear so.

It's all the voter's fault the GOP lost. After all, it couldn't possibly be the fault of the politicians.

I always love seeing your updates. I liked the comparison to the psycho-ex, but pork rinds? I know the point is the pork, but pork rinds are EXCELLENT. And, for those of us who are trying to drop a few pounds, they are an excellent snack food with 0G of carbs!

I started reading MM.com on my second tour in Iraq. That was right before the start of HotAir, where I saw you for the first time. You hit right where it counts like Malkin... only you're funny. I love it and I'm hooked.

P.S. Despite that, I promise not to send any threatening letters to anyone in your honor...

Keep it up!

Not listening
Mary - I loved your skit!

While I knew it was coming, I was still shocked to know that Pelosi and Gang were going to be in control. Horrors!

I am mad at our elected Republican officials for letting this slip through their fingers. The president is just as much to blame. It was hard to make such "disloyal" statements at first, but not now. They just didn't listen, and haven't for a long time.

The endless scandals made me dizzy and I wondered what was going to be the story of the day when I woke up in the morning and turned on the TV.

They just didn't listen and it seems they're still not listening. Thanks a Lott for nothing.

Wow - the girlfriend analogy was frighteningly perfect. Now imagine the psycho ex steals your credit card (an overstretching of the analogy to the presidential election in '08). Ouch.

Keep up the great work. Your stuff is fresh, funny and devastatingly on target. Thanks!
jetpilot writes: Saturday, December, 02, 2006 3:23 AM
Oh my gosh
This is the most simple minded provocateur bull I have heard in a long time. Yes, I think the advertisement of a commercial film on the birth of Jesus would have been fine, if the sound level and video display where done tastefully, BUT SO WHAT IF THE CITY DOES NOT WANT IT, OK, FINE. I know the story and have a Bible. Why do you always imply it's conspiracies with the left. That is retarded. What liberals don't believe in GOD? Really. I am a moderate independant and have to call bull on your insinuation.

As a Christian I abhor using religion in politics; Christianity is a personal thing, a joy. Many politicians and pundits are not devoutly religious or spiriatual, at least based on their words and actions.

The only thing this Ham Nation video had right is ENJOY your Christmas. Good advice.

THE last part of the video YOU MAKE A suggestion for "lefties" get together and act like terrorst or Muslims at an airport and flight is stupid. (BTW I am a commercial airline pilot, may be you should be reported.) Telling people to ACT like terrorist on planes is STUPID. Stop it. You are not clever or funny.

WHAT THE HECK?? I get it, lefties are like terrorist and "want the terrorist to win." No one is condoning the actions of those 6 Imams/muslims, no one! As an Airline Captain on a large Boeing jet, I don't think its funny.

As far as the 6 Imams, I'd throw them off my plane for one reason and one reason only, not complying with my cabin crews instructions. Clearly they where provoking and acting like jerks. If they want to pray in the terminal, fine, but in the plane they did more than enough to get kicked off, from what I heard. Your HAM NATION description is more egregious and bombastic than anything I heard, but I don't believe much you report any way, you exaggerate and are uber partisan and very deceptive. I did not hear all the other accusations. What is your source? (book of fear mongering)

In another Ham nation video you tired this BS before. You suggest Dems make outspoken rapper Kanye West a Dem's spokesperson for some reason. (Remember West said Bush does not like Black people.) What does Kanye West have to do with Dems? Saying the words Kanye West and Dems in the same sentence is a lame attempt to make an association between the Dems with a radical rapper. By the way, many Blacks do feel that way about George "Brownie you're doin a great job" Bush. That was a horrible lack of leadership. Over fly the gulf coast at 5,000 feet, brilliant.

YOUR SMUG ATTEMPT TO SUGGEST OR ASSOCIATE "LEFTIES" WITH RADICAL RAPPERS AND TERRORISM (or fear of) IS SHAMEFUL. Shame on you. You are paranoid or duplicitous or both.

You're the reason America is in trouble. A house divided WILL fall. We are all Ameicans. Stop attacking Americans. Was it a slow news day? Did you have nothing negative to say about Pelosi or Clinton? Gosh give it a rest.

Here's my suggestions. The GOP should support the KKK. Trent Lott and Mr. George "mckaka" Allen will be grand wizard and co-wizard for the GOP. Of course the department of gay pedophilia will be handled by Mark Foley and Ted "on the bottom" Haggard, who will also be in charge of Meth labs.

REMEMBER, not supporting the Dems is like wanting the terrorist to win. There I said it.

Actually my sarcasm and attempt at parody of the GOP's campaign tactics is really true. If you DON'T want the Dems to be successful you are against America. I hope they do good for all our good. I thought the same hope when the GOP took full power. They let us down, big time.

PS, the film in Chicago is a commercial film, for profit. If Chicago does not want to advertise it at a Christmas festival, fine. I go to church, read the bible and love my Lord without movie films. SHAME SHAME SHAME for making this about politics. This is a Bill O's rant straight from Fox news. You are pandering to the Evangelicals.

The GOP by the way as courted and co-oped the "Evangelicals", disingenuously for political gain in my opinon. Religion should work on peoples salvation and spiritual life, NOT getting involved directly with politics to get theological legislation rammed down peoples throats. Feed the POOR, don't contribute to campaigns. We have free will, because God gave that to us.

What happened to GOP small goverment that stays out of our personal lives? I agree with that, but that is not what the GOP did is it!

People like Pat Robertson, James Dobson and Jerry Falwell don't speak for me. These Gentleman speak "in tongues", call to kill Chavez, say Katrina hit new orleans because of gays and tell people to give them money or God will strike them down! They don't speak to my faith. These are the ones influencing Government and the GOP!! They and also big industry should not have excessive influence. ITS FOR THE PEOPLE BY THE PEOPLE.

By the way anyone of these Evangelical leaders could be the antichrist? They all seem to be polarizing. We know the antichrist will come warped in a facade of being holly. Hummm? I really don't think that, but its not too far fetched. By the way, don't worry James Dobson, is heading a committee to turn Ted Haggard straight. It's going to take 5 years.

Remember separation of Church and state and freedom of religion. What does a movie Ad have to do with that? Government should stay out of our lives and should not legislate religious theology. I do believe we need to keep GOD in our country and keep the traditions as they are, but lets not go crazy over a one festival.

Carl Rove has used this religious paranoia tactic to perfection. Now every time a Dem use religious code talk the GOP complains and whines and cries. They think that's their trick pony. The GOP does not care about the Evangelicals and laugh behind their backs, calling them fools and idiots.

People of faith do not put your trust in man. Don't be fooled by all this lefties are heithans talk. Lefty is code for Dems. If you are a believer in GOD, than you know his power. If you are weak in faith, I can see how Ham Nation telling you the LEFTIES HAVE TAKEN A RELIGIOUS film away would get you all worked up. Relax. Get your bible out and read. Ham nation is just trying to be a provocateur.

By the way Senator Bill Frist (R) lied several times during the Terri Schiavo case, not to mention lies about AIDS transmission. With his other pandering to evangelicals and questionable morals and hypocrisy, I have little respect.

You know what you get with smug, self righteous glib superiority complex: Ted Haggard and Mark Foley, banging gay prostitutes, doing crystal methamphetamine and being a gay preditory pedophile, NICE! A great day for Evangelical, GOP and Righties. Please.

There is a special place for hypocrites. Be careful with your Holier Than Thou and without Sin, Ms. Ham Nation. Stop with the Carl Rove play book, conservatives/GOP are some how connected with Jesus and Dems are not. Please that is offensive and retarded. I put my faith in GOD, The Father, Son and Holy Spirit. "Go and make disciples of all nations". That is disciples for GOD not the GOP.

Thanks,

Iraq Casualties: 2885 soldiers dead, 3 unconfirm in last day for 2888. Now that is a problem we should work on TOGETHER. Telling people to ACT like terrorist on planes is STUPID. Stop it.
