'A dozen al Qaeda plots to kill people were stopped because of the information they got from coercive interrogation.'
Posted by: Mary Katharine Ham at 9:25 PM

Watch the video.

An ABC report using anonymous sources confirms the success of coercive torture techniques, with information from CIA agents opposed to the techniques.

Not only did they break Khaled Sheikh Mohammed; not only was the information he gave them valuable; not only did it save lives; but Ross’s sources include people within the CIA who are opposed to the practices.

The best part, though? Learning that Ramzi Binalshibh cried like a three-year-old girl.

Awaiting reaction from Andrew Sullivan.

Bonus: O'Reilly picks a gangsta handle, and picks well.

Update: Kim Priestap has an update on what went down in the House today. A House committee backed Bush's detainee interrogation program.

Rough Interrogation?
Don't buy that cr@p that interrogation is just "Red Hot Chili Peppers" and uncomfortable rooms. We all know that fists get used, and there are plenty of first person accounts of beating prisoners in Iraq, especially out of 4th ID. Another technique (probably not used now) was to tie prisoners prone on the hood of a hot running humvee and let them burn and cook for a while. As I have said before, if you want rough techniques, then stand behind them, even if the wrong person gets hurt. We know that lives have been saved, but we have grabbed and "interrogated" the wrong guy at least once. (A German citizen on vacation in Bosnia. We took him to Afghanistan and held him for months while we worked him over. The CIA finally admited he wass the wrong guy, and returned him to Germany. The German govt is upset, to put it mildly, and it has likely poisoned their cooperation with us.) If you want to be able to smack the bad guys, then fine, but own up when you smack the wrong person.

A good quote, Kimberly. Sadly, It seems clear that now our values include torture and in essence reducing ourselves to the level of the people we claim to be against.
