Blasting Obama: Hillary's Last, Best Chance For The Oval Office
Posted by: Hugh Hewitt at 10:08 AM
Hillary keeps the heat on Obama:

"I don't think he really gets it that people are looking for a president who stands up for you and not looks down on you," Clinton said. "After seven years of Americans feeling invisible to this president, President Bush, it's time that we level the playing field and begin acting like Americans again."

Last evening, her campaign released a television ad with Pennsylvanians saying they were insulted by Obama.

The controversy goes to the heart of what, at least in recent elections, has been the Democrats' Achilles' heel: perceptions by some voters - fueled gleefully by the GOP - that their party is led by liberal elitists who patronize, and, at times, even scorn middle America. Four years ago, Republicans lampooned Senator John F. Kerry as a millionaire windsurfer whose positions changed with the breeze.

Obama is from the far left side of the already too-left Democratic Party.  Hillary is only slightly less left, but she knows Obama cannot keep the charade of being a "moderate" going much longer, and she's going to make sure that the Democrats will have no excuse for nominating a far-left candidate if they continue down that path.

Clinton could still pull this out, but she needs a decisive win in PA to do so  --the sort of win that wakes up the half of the Dems still is in love with the idea of a moderate Obama appealing across party-lines.  Expect her to be blunt and focused.  This is her last chance at becoming president, the week that she will be replaying in her head for the next 20 years if she does anything other than go all in.  She has to be loud enough to compete with the pope and tough enough to make the argument that Obama cannot win and could well lose in a landslide.

Crying won't work.  Bill cannot help.  To win, Hillary has to do the unthinkable: She has to be brutally honest with the voters about just how unelectable Obama is.

Does she have it in her?

Hillary
HIllary definately has it in her. I think she will win this state by 6.

I hope I am wrong.

teamwork...

is what it takes...

Hillary working with all of the conservative
punditry to put Obama in a rapid cross-fire is
definitely the best chance. I never thought I
would see the day when it became so clear how
similar Hillary and the conservative pundit-elite
really are. Same tactics, lack of decency, scorched
earth, win-at-all-costs. Mirror-images with different daily conference-call talking points....

I'm embarrassed I ever called myself a Republican.
The decent conservative values of Buckley and Reagan
and distant memories and long gone...

Do I sound "bitter"?? ;-)

Will win by 13pts.

She is ahead in the catholic vote by 40+.

13pts will be enough for her to survive.

Doesn't get it
Neither Hillary (old politics) nor Obama (do nothing but promise change, spending, entitlements, and big government) "get it".

Let them both explain how higher taxes, a nanny government and more spending will get us out of debt. Let them explain why they should not be considered far-left socialists. Let them explain their stance on illegal immigrants, amnesty and citizenship. How about the 300,000 illegal immigrant babies who were given citizenship because their parents snuck over the border and had their babies here in the USA at taxpayers expense. Let them explain how they will bring jobs back to the United States. Let them speak to any of the issues instead of giving us their constant rhetoric about ending the war with no plans to do so. Let Obama explain why he surrounds himself with America haters, racists and hates many things about America himself. Let Hillary explain her husband and daughter campaigning for her but are not allowed to be questioned. Let them say something feasible and worthwhile. We are getting politiced out, weary and worried about our future. Let any candidate give us some reassurance!

After writing a 5 figure check to the IRS today.

Y'know what you can do for me Democrats pols?

Two words - Resign / Emigrate.

The first will do, but the second would put a big smile on my face.

Hillary is not going to win
I would love to see the Democratic Party go into complete meltdown with Hillary stealing the nomination, but it is not going to happen. Obama will be the nominee.

McCain will be the next President.

McCain is not perfect, but he is a darn sight better than Obama or Hillary. Time for so called patriots to wake up to that.
NoDonkey writes: Tuesday, April, 15, 2008 11:19 AM
100 Million in the Bank
And this is the woman who denigrates CEOs.

So getting a huge corporation to make a profit when opposed by the government and the trial lawyers is a piece of cake, whereas giving speeches to Emirs, selling pardons and extorting corporations is REAL work - according to Democrats.

From swift boats to bitter guns.

You people need to buy more records.

In case you haven't notice we are at war and the economy is getting worse.

But oh year, bitter guns! all day long.

This isn't a Town Hall. It's a big group hug where whether its chanting "Reverend Wright" or "Bitter Guns".

The litany is tedious, monotonous and boring to paint it in the best light.

That applies to McCain as well.
When is someone going to have the gonads to ask him directly what comes after "Secure the border first"?
When will someone ask him why he has Juan Hernandez and his "Mexico First" agenda on his campaign.

If you want the laws enforced and the border secured, you are out of luck in this election.

The RNC wanted an amnesty candidate to prevent anything being done about illegal aliens. McCain won't enforce the laws.

Juan Hernandez wouldn't like it.
GOPsaver writes: Tuesday, April, 15, 2008 11:29 AM
OK Guys, here I go!
McCain is a great American War Hero who is a lousy Senator and would be an even worse President.
I think Hillary would be a better President then McCain. There I wrote it.
McCain is a hard headed a$$ who will give us shamnesty in the first 18 months. McCain will be just as much a democrat as Hillary. The differance is Hillay can be swade by polling to do what we want.
Yes she will raise Taxes but she also knows where her bread is buttered. She might even give us a Corporate income tax break. That would do more to save retirements in 401ks then any one thing I can think of aside from a Cap. Gains tax cut.
Hillary would not have the nads to take us out of Iraq before the Iraq Military is trained. She might make the Government of Iraq work faster then Bush has to get to a end game.
I think Hillary could be moved on energy and drilling in the USA.
Remember that Hillary's bone to pick and payback to be had is with Mike Moore, Sorros, and the DNC for throwing her under the bus. That rath of Hillary may be far worse for the left then the right.
PC writes: Tuesday, April, 15, 2008 11:29 AM
Hillary cannot and won't win
Unfortunately, Hillary picked the wrong year to run. Even if she were a spectacular candidate (she's far from it) there would be nothing she could do against the first black man running for the dems. Obama is owed the nomination and will win it no matter what. It doesn't matter what Hillary does. If the roles were reversed, and Hillary was in the lead as Obama is now, he would still win. He has to win either way because the democrats cannot afford to lose the black vote. Even if they know they will lose in Nov, they are still going to nominate Obama. Their party would be in serious jeopardy without the black vote.
GOPsaver writes: Tuesday, April, 15, 2008 11:31 AM
OK Guys, Here I go Part Two
No I will not vote for Hillary or McCain. I think she would be a better President then the RNCs guy.
The RNC has controlled us and have continued to keep us on the RNC plantation every bit as much as the DNC has neglected the Black voters on the other side.
As I have said before. I am looking for a new home. Aside from Jesus Christ himself being on the ticket with McCain. I will not vote for that A sswipe. If McCain had two brain cells he could rub together. McCain would put Mike Steel on the ticket and just maybe McCain could win but not with my vote. I have seen enough.
Go ahead and blame me if you want, I could give a rip.
I could also run the RNC far better then the Bush guy has been able to do and that in itself sucks.
The RNC had a Blue print from Reagan and Newt that was all but un-beatable. Bush and Rove were far smarter then those guys and now we have Socialists vs democrats with NO conservatives to be found.
Although History will be kind to President Bush. On Conservative issues he was weak and killed a entire party. Republicans would do better to move into the democrat party and take it over instead of trying to save the RNC.
GREG writes: Tuesday, April, 15, 2008 11:32 AM
Hillary's problem
A negative story only becomes a devastating story when the news coverage is relentless. Most people never heard of Congressman Mark Foley until his text messages to congressional pages became front-page, nightly news stories for weeks on end, actually lasting months up until the election. The press has no interest in making "bitterblunder" or Rev. Wright that kind of weapon against Obama. The arrival of the Pope will suck up coverage until the Pennsylvania primary, and after that they will say it is time to "move on." Hillary no longer has the advertising funds to give the story a long life independent of free media.

Hillary's Problem
Hillary is the perfect woman to do this.

Who is better a the politics of personal destruction?

Who really thinks this is the last FUBAR'ed comment SnObama is going to make?

She is going to kick Obama's butt from one end of the country on this.

She is relentless and now she can taste the nomination.

40 Days of the Democrat version of the Night of the Long Knives - couldn't happen to better (really, worse) people.

eddie too writes: Tuesday, April, 15, 2008 12:21 PM
If Hilary moderated her positions on

taxes, health care, abortion and homosexuality she would win the nomination and the general with ease.

She would not need to adopt the GOP positions on these issues, just move definitely to the right of Obama. This should not be that hard. The question is does she realize this and will she do it.

I prefer Hilary over Obama. I plan to vote for McCain in November.

A big player in throwing the party under the bus are the talking heads. They were relentles and insistant on trying to cram a candidate down our throats that was GUARANTEED to be divisive to the party. Romney. A man who until two years ago was a died in the wool liberal. A man that conservative media decided to back at least a couple of years ago. How can we tell this? A couple of years ago they began trying to distance the party from religious conservatives. Take Hugh for example, he morphed from a self-proclaimed "Evangelical" to a "Evangelical-Presbyterian-Catholic", and all programming that appealed to his Evangelical audience was dropped. Media's bet was to back a candidate, throw the Evangelicals under the bus and try to pick up moderate Democrats who would have no problem with Romney's track record. It backfired.

The talking heads divided the party. McCain's campaign was all but done. But he astutely saw the opportunity to bridge a gap, and siezed it. The rest will be history.

We need to spread the blame where blame is due.

Not Acting Like Americans?
Just what in hell does this mean?:

"After seven years of Americans feeling invisible to this president, President Bush, it's time that we level the playing field and begin acting like Americans again."

What have we been acting like, Hills? Canadians? Frenchmen? Mexicans?

Personally, I feel I've been acting like an American by voting against Democrats every chance I get.

It's a great day when a man can get up in the morning and cast a vote against one absolutely worthless Democrat or another.
KGK writes: Tuesday, April, 15, 2008 1:58 PM
Hil must denounce liberalism!
Can you imagine how Hil would do the above? After all the real evil here is that these two socialist pacifists are both liberals who would not know what real economic free enterprise is, wouldn't know the real enemy of America is(Islamofascism), wouldn't know that the more govt. we have in our individual lives is Marxist, wouldn't know that to embrace Wright, Carter, Gore's own particular fads is anathama to many Middle Class Americans. Frankly, I hope they keep up their hurls at each other till Denver. Today, Sen. McCain actually came up with two economic policies which would actually aid those Middle Class Americans and small town as well as urban workers who need cars. The two leftist socialists would never have thought of ever CUTTING A TAX. They are both bad for America.

Reality Check
Black bloc voters vote Dem because it says (D) next to the name on the ballot. The name doesn't matter. If there were a TBD (D), TBD would get the checks.

Seriously, why would a low income inner-city black vote for a John Kerry? Answer: In the final analysis, the candidate just doesn't matter. It's a Party affiliation, and an irrational one. If there were individual rational decisions in play, blacks would already have left the Dem Party in droves. But it's archaic groupthink, and they aren't budging - even if Billary gets handed an unearned nomination by establishment Dem pols (AKA super delegates).

I think if Hillary manages to seize the nomination, black voters will not vote for her.

And they might complete give up on politics altogether, which would be a good thing for them.

Anyone who waits around for the government to help them is going to be sorely disappointed.

I see Hillary winning the big states, many more than Obama, and McCain having no chance to win more than a few - a very few. The conservative Republican base has put McBush in checkmate.
Zelsdorf Ragshaft III writes: Tuesday, April, 15, 2008 5:24 PM
Can not win
It looks like either Democratic candidate will lose the others supporters. That being the case, McCain is a shoe in. In my opinion, McCain is far from a perfect candidate for the Republican party, but since this next President will nominate at least two Supreme Court Justices, it is unbelievably important someone with some conservative credentials does the nominating. Either Clinton or Obama are capable of doing long lasting damage to this nation. The question for moderate patriotic Americans is which socialist do you want to tax you to death, B. Hussein or Hillary R.?

Expectation game
Because he is going to lose in Pennsylvania, Obama will take a page from the Clinton playbook and define winning and losing, which the MSM will buy into. Example, if Hillary wins by anything less than 12%, it will be defined as a loss for her. If she wins by 15% is is a modest win. Only if she completely slaughters him will she "meet expecations." It is the same strategy as a trial lawyer confessing the worst parts of his case to the jury in opening statement, so that when the damaging witness takes the stand, the jury thinks, "Oh, yeah, we already know about that."

I first voted back in '80 as a registered
Republican and just changed my registered status
over to non-partisan here in CA. Definitely have
considered myself a "moderate" Repub which now
seems to be a dirty word. The last 7 years pretty
much made me feel like the party left me behind...

I still probably agree more with what today's self-proclaimed conservatives claim as their own
views than what I disagree with, but hey, it
definitely seems like if you've sat and watched
your party have many, many years worth of potential
opportunities to make some serious changes and then
basically let it fritter away and the best you can
do is simply to blame somebody else (MSM, libs, dems, etc) versus acknowledge your own faults and taking some responsibility, then you are really
no different or better than that which you so despise.
