Obama Mocks DC Snow School Closings
Posted by: Matt Lewis at 2:37 PM
I actually agree with him on this one.  But now that he has said it, how much do you want to bet his children's school won't close the next time roads are treacherous???

He'd think differently
if his daughters rode a school bus that cannot manuever in the snow much less ice. But as they are the president's daughter's, they get to ride in a limosine.

I agree that schools close too often, but when you have life on the line, its better to err on the side of safety than to risk a fatal bus crash.

Welcome to DC
Drive around here in a hard rainstorm, much less a snowstorm, Barry. Take note of all the crazed drivers, and then rethink that 'keep the schools' open idea.

Yes but
In Chicago because of the teachers union lobby they only have 5 hour school days courtesy of Obama's Teacher's union legislation. They dont really teach there (as is evident by the national scores) and since they dont have the kids interest as a priority they could care less about the weather conditions.

Scary O'Hairy
First little girl, I have ignored you for over a week because of your venomous spew in each and every word you post. Now I have to take objection to your accusing me of whining.

You show me anywhere in my post above where I am whining. I dare you.

You cannot however, because in my post, there is nothing but concern for the safety of children. All children, includind Malia and Sasha.

Yes, I know in your world you view children as "disposable", however, I do not. I value each and every life, including yours even when I don't agree with you (which is never).

So you stop your venomous vitriol and start acting like a human being for once in your pitiful little life.

In other words Scary STFU if you cannot be somewhat restrained in your spew. Nobody cares about you and your ranting until you can be somewhat respectable to all others.

To All
The woman Liberal Loon Scarlett has so much pity and sympathy toward is (was) named Karla May Tucker. And what did Karla do that Scarlett is so sympathetic too? Why this delicate flower, using a 3 foot Ax, hacked a Houston man to death. She must have been a lovely woman that Karla.

So ask yourself................
..........what kind of person has pity for an Ax murderer, yet whould gladly stick a pair of scissors into the base of an unborns skull? Liberal Loon Scarlett that's who.

Nice? Merely nice?

I think it was outstanding. Way to go Kathy although you may be demanding a higher level of personal responsibility than is possible by S, O'H.

a little common sense please
Here in NC they quickly close school with any threat of ice - why? Just last year we had two high school kids and their siblings killed driving to school on ice - and we have had several teacher deaths in the last 5 years - ice is very dangerous and black ice, which is prevalent in these parts, is worst. We have a new teacher this year from Michigan who laughed at our snow day last week until she was getting in her car and fell badly hitting her head! True story. When the good President;s kids are driving around he may think differently. For now, he better experience life down here(the mid atlantic) for a while before he goes commenting about it - he sounds inexperienced and callous instead of tough and strong.......hmmmmmm - are we just talking about the weather here???????

DC may have learned
a hard lesson about snow and ice and school closings.
The Atlanta area learned a hard one about 20-25 years ago.
I'm doing this from memory and don't have the exact facts, just a general rememberance of the incident.
A woman was in the hospital having her 5th child and her husband was with her. The roads the night before accumulated some ice and snow. The couple's 4 other children were home and not on the bus route. Their ages ranged from 16-17 down to about 5-6 yoa. The schools were not closed so the oldest was pressed into service to drive himself and his siblings to school. He had no previous experience driving in snow/ice. He lost control of the family car, hit a truck head-on, and all were killed. An extremely sad situation. Now, any snow or ice and the schools are generally closed now. May or may not be a knee-jerk overreaction but that is what happens now here.

O
would not be the one behind the wheel, trying to manuever on ice. I've tried it, believe me, when my BUS did not run and I needed to get to work. I drove onto an expressway and immediately got off at the first exit and went home. I did not want to be one of the cars I saw skid off the road (a situation I have been in before, and one which resulted in a rear-end accident), nor did I wish to be involved in a multi-car accident. It was not worth risking my life, or the life of others.

I'm surprised O does not consider the safety of the driver, much less the safety of his children.

So SOH, before you spew your nasty comments, let us know if YOU'VE ever driven on ice and tell us what wonderful experience it was, OK?
