ANOTHER Sotomayor lie exposed by Rush!!!
Yesterday a caller from Wappingers Falls, NY named Anastasia revealed that she also graduated from Cardinal Spellman HS in the Bronx the same year as Sotomayor. Hmmmm.

Then Leaky Leahy whined that the candidate was a product of the projects and "not exposed to the classics" like "others" (meaning I assume "white people"). The caller offered up from her scrapbook the summer reading list for Senior Year. It included some Shakespeare, "Catcher in the Rye", "1984", "One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest" and some works of Emily Bronte for the girls.

Hel-LO!! can we say LIAR? Leahy assumed a story that fit his liberal template and promulgated same which IS a lie no matter how you dress it up. The only classics she was not exposed to as Rush and Anastasia both pointed out were the works of Marx and Hagel, the liberal Bible.

The CURRENT list from that school includes "Lies My Teacher Told Me" which exposes the drivel that passes for "education" in America today. In Spellman and all other Catholic schools they stress civics and history, NOT revisionist feel-good propaganda!!

Unlike democrats, I'm not hung up on skin color.
Nor does diversity mean much. I'm hung up on what
we have in common not what seperates us. The country did not get to be great by seeking to divide but by seeking to unite people into a cohesive prosperous country. It is the democrat platform to relegate minorities to second rate status that need to be taken care of by the superior "white democrat". Hand outs aren't liberating, but they are degrading.

"look how the Taliban got into Iran back when our folks were held hostage"

Once again, the impressive grasp of history of the right-wing shines through. Suggesting that the virulently anti-Shiite Taliban participated in the Iranian hostage crisis is yet another example.

A tiny hint, Jeannie: the hostage crisis was in 1980; the Taliban didn't even exist until the early 1990's.

Where did you get your information regarding the Founders. Who wrote the book and where did he get the information.

Yes, SOME of Founders were slave owners, and
John Adams fought hard to have Thomas Jefferson's
phrase in the Declaration be retained. Jefferson included slaves as well as free men in it and had determined to free his own slaves. George Washington freed his own slaves per his will and but couldn't free Martha's but I understand she did that upon her death.

If that phrase hadn't been struck from the Declaration, the South led by Rutledge of S.C.
would have WALKED and you, m'dear would be eatin' tea and crumpets at four in the year of Our Lord 2009.

Furthermore, your beloved Barry Soetoro a.k.a.
Barack Hussein Obama's ARAB ancestors bought and sold slaves to the white slavers AND Barry's
mama's ancestors were among those who bought and OWNED slaves.
So before you go trashing the Founders who were
from an era you have not lived in, you'd be wise to just SHUT UP about our Founding and our Constitution If you don't like the Original Constitution, why doncha move to Venezuela.

Proud of our diversity. I am not proud that we elected BHO. I am also not a racist. There are a number of African-Americans, Hispanics, and women that would have made me proud, had they gotten elected. Why should we be proud of BHO? Historically he is the first mixed race President. He spent 20 years "embracing his 'blackness'" in a Black Liberation theology church, after growing up in a white home. He gained access to all the right schools (because he is black), yet he won't release any of his records, and has spent millions hiding these. What is he afraid of? His entire persona is based on a myth, and if, and when the truth comes out, that with will be shattered like Humpty-Dumpty, and no one will be able to put it back together again.

Ethnicity is bunk
Who had to be complicit to make slavery happen?

Black Africans.

Who has completely exploited Casinoes for personal gain?

Native Americans

Who have continually supported and made excuses for Presidents that have degraded and mistreated women?

Feminist Women.

Folks, diversity only divides and division only leaves countries open for takeover. look how the Taliban got into Iran back when our folks were held hostage, our president did nothing and the students clamored and whinged among themselves.

Divided they fall united they stand.

You got the wrong groups here. Color is not what will strengthen. American values are supposed to be free and clear of any racial 'tone'. Unfortunately, people of different 'race' are choosing to identify with very specific traits and choosing to ignore that they are not only no longer from these countries, but these countries were even back then trying to leave and come here because the governments were not serving their people.

Diversity is the biggest scandal going and this was NOT what MLK had in mind when he said that he hoped that people would not notice another's skin color.

Every time someone of one color says 'we' did it to others of his/her color, he/she takes another step backward from MLKs dream of color ignorance.

As for Mathews, he probably went to Ancestry.com, found out he had a slaveowner in his ancestry and has decided to be an apologist for life so nobody will be mean to him.

Sotomayor's reversal rate is based on something like 5 cases. Alito, as has been pointed out, had a 100% SCOTUS reversal rate before he joined the Court.

so let's put that canard aside, ok?

that being said, we *should* be concerned about Sotomayor's weird ideas. these include her thinking that she will make BETTER decisions than someone who happens to be a white man.

9 white men managed to agree on Brown v. Board of Education. was that just dumb luck?

merit has been replaced by skin color as the most important consideration in this country. it's the reason Obama is president.

He won't release his SAT's or LSAT's, but it's believed he was the beneficiary of Affirmitive Action in getting into Harvard. And his Suma-cume Laude graduate standing means he graduated in the top 20% of his class at Harvard. And Editor of the Harvard Law Review is an elected position, not based on academic performace. Barack Obama's election gave great hope to many Americans who long ago thought that they were forever going to be subjects of abject and ongoing discrimination. While his election did not eliminate discrimination or racism, it was a great step forward.

Which law school did you attend? You don't have to name it, just tell me what NCAA football conference it is in. Kinda doubt it is Pac 10 or Ivy.

Beyond that, have you read her decisions? How many times did she overturn trial courts? Isn't that what you folks hate, overturning trial courts and being activists? Which foreign law is she planning on using? Where didn't she uphold the Constitution (if you say Ricci, she was joined by 2 others in a unanimous upholding of a trial court decision that the enbanc 2nd Cir. also upheld, and the Supremes overturned by one vote.

She did well at Princeton and Yale (you recall you do not get graded by name, but by number, so she didn't get a boost there). Besides, affirmative action mostly benefited middle class white women academically.

Where did Obama say he would not use empathy in healthcare issues? The very concept of Obamacare is to try to equalize things.

Yes, our racist, sexist, and elitist founders (no disrespect, they allowed slavery to continue, did not allow women to vote or own property, and you couldn't vote unless you did own property) might be spinning, but frankly, who cares? They only established a framework, not a set in stone way of doing things. Otherwise, you'd have never gone to law school, dear.

For Kaboom
I would prefer being proud of a new justice of the Supreme Court who upholds the law and construes the constitution, instead of Sotomayor's comments about using international law, and issues outside the law to decide legal issues. That's not to mention her wise Latina remark and her boast that she's an affirmative action baby because her grades weren't good enough to get her into Princeton and Yale BUT FOR her ethnicity and gender. Obama says he wants a justice who'll decide the law with empathy, but on the other hand, he said his Obamacare will NOT use empathy to make health care decisions. HUH?????

So, I won't be crying with joy because a Hispanic female is on the bench. I'll be crying for our country because now we decide these matters on skin color. Our Founding Fathers are spinning in their graves.
