The Incredible Shrinking Candidate
Posted by: Carol Platt Liebau at 7:40 PM
Barack Obama puts out an ad mocking John McCain as a computer illiterate.  (The ad is here -- for now, at least.)

Only problem -- for Obama, that is -- is that McCain can't use a keyboard because of the wounds he sustained in service to his country.  According to a 2000 piece in The Boston Globe:

McCain's severe war injuries prevent him from combing his hair, typing on a keyboard, or tying his shoes.

Oops.  Think of it this way, Barack:  McCain's willingness to risk that injury you've tried to ridicule is what gave you the freedom to serve as a "community organizer."

flattered some
I agree with Darryl above. Also,McCain has passed his physical satisfactory. His mother is in her 90's,that says alot in regards to the age issue.People are living longer now. Educated, active people,as McCain are expected to lead healthier, longer lives. It has been proven. In regards to his computer skills,so what?!That is a lame attack. That is like a bully school kid picking on another kid.Usually, the bully is insecure and jealous and trying to prove something only to himself. And if you sit and e-mail all day, you wouldnt get anything done! Do you really want a president sitting at the computer all day? Id rather see him involved in our country!John and Cindy McCain do love our country, and they are doing good in others! Much of which our biased media do not talk about. If you take more time researching the issues and the truth about Obama, you may make a better judgement call for president.Obama will tell people what they want to hear, depending on the audience he is speaking to.He is all about himself, appearances. He is so transparent. Those following Obama,I find are like an infatuated person who only sees what they want to see. But, when the romance is over you will see the faults. Compare it to your past dating,or failed marriages... this is a similar dilemma in regards to Obama. It is a fantasy. Much of the media has fallen for it too. It is a shame.Lastly,I am very thankful and proud of what McCain has done for our country! We are a military family and my son is serving in the Navy now too!I am 100% behind McCain! I believe he would keep our military as safe as possible and be the best man for our country! I am terrified to consider Obama with our country in his hands! Talk is cheap, and he hasnt done a great job of that, as far as I am concerned! Apparently he has flattered some, but not me!

IMPAIRED
FDR was probably the greatest president in the memory of anybody living today. He had suffered polio as a young man and could not walk unaided. The media at that time had a little class and very few citizens knew he wore very heavy braces on both legs. He could barely walk unsupported by another person and had to hold onto something when he gave speechs. I see no reason why a physically impaired person cannot serve as president. What I don't want is another ivy league type -- dozens and dozens of which have fouled this country beyond belief.

A not-related subject:

A congressman from TN said: "Jesus was a community organizer; Pontius Pilate was a governor." Guess he forgot that Pontius Pilate voted "Present."

The Bronze Star Medal received by Max Cleland had nothing to do with combat injuries. He received the medal for something he had done with runnin wire communications. He lost his arms and one(?) leg when he picked up a live hand granade after leaving the officers club (a tent, probably.) Not so very good, Buccaneer! I'll leave it to bone carriers as to whether he was drunk at the time; I don't know.

Any of you left wing Momos
Before you knock a man's past I suggest that you try to walk in his shoes, how many of you left wing kool-aid drinkers have ever been in the military, how many of you ungrateful Sob’s have been in a POW camp. How many of you kitty faced momos have been beaten with out recourse. That writer to say he brings out his POW card when he gets into trouble is a un patriotic statement in my opinion. Lets see what your candidate can claim experience to, a community organizer, a state senator, a US Senator, how about a 20 year term in Pastor Wright's anti American program, and then deny he is not the man I knew, how about hanging around with that commie terrorist Ayers, or the financial wizard Tony Rezko.
Just look at what and whom he gives earmarks to, in the few short term of Obama he gave nearly 1 billion dollars to his trumped up phony friends starting with the most corrupt, the Mayor of Chicago's relatives. When I came home from the military I went back to school and was asked told by some liberal teacher that my proficiency in English grammar was below standard, he continued to say you will have a rough time making it in this world, he also said what will you do? I simply said that why I have a secretary. There is no reason for McCain to use a computer, all he has to do is read and direct people. So all you computer wizards do us a favor go out a find a job and become a productive member of society, not a layback momo looking for some change that will never be, I wonder if Obama realizes that his running mate Biden has been around Washington longer than McCain, Biden got an exemption from the draft for asthma what a joke he simply a draft dodger, I had asthma when I was young and the only thing that was told to me, by an old salt sargent was, "LT keep your head down. Asthma, my butt Lmao.

Barry O gives a new meaning to the

word lightweight.

Who in the world are these people in the polls who say they will vote for tis lightweight? Do they really think they can trust for chief executive someone who has never ever supervised an operation as large as a convenience store?

Barry O could not even get hired to manage a convenience store!!! He lacks the executive experience.

But his followers want to elect him to run the U.S. government. Who are these people? Are they completely without intelligence and understanding? Or have their concern for themselves taken complete control of their lives?
Spudder writes: Saturday, September, 13, 2008 10:13 AM
Obama's judgement lmao
Let's face it lefties your candidate doesn't look deep enough into a issue before he uses his judgement. Where did this Momo surface from? what has he done?
esides voting 130 times present and according to Hillary give a speach, that his credentials, and all of you whiggers are elated, his judgement is chit and belongs in the bowl along with him and his supporters.

UPI defends Gov. Palin
The double-standard Gibson applied to Palin, compared with the uncritical media platforms repeatedly offered to Obama, who has had zero executive experience running anything, was especially striking. ABC and Gibson focused on Palin as if she were running right now for the presidency rather than the vice presidency. He and other media pundits, by contrast, have never asked the Democratic vice presidential nominee, Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware, if he has ever had to make a decision on anything.

Gibson's aggressive approach appeared to take Palin by surprise: He was clearly attempting to put her on point by presenting her as having extreme religious views. This again, however, appears to be a double-standard, as Palin grew up in the Assemblies of God, one of the largest Christian denominations in America with 16 million members, and is now a member of the Wasilla Bible Church. Even now, Obama has yet to receive any comparable grilling on his 20-year attendance in the congregation of the notoriously racist Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

Interesting
I find it interesting that the libs who post here cannot bring themselves to admit that Obama might have made a mistake (I guess that would blow the whole perfect messiah image). Instead, they become hateful and indignant. It is not a pretty sight.

I want to be clear, whether or not McCain is computer savvy means NOTHING to me! As president, he will have a staff to take care of most things that need a computer. We saw what happened when a president tried to micromanage (Carter--the disaster), and I would rather have a president tending to the people's business instead of surfing the net and engaging in minutia.

What we see in Obama is a candidate who operates under one set of principles when winning, and then when he is losing operates in a totally different way. In my neighborhood, we call that unprincipled, and we have no trust for people who take a firm stand and then change their behaviors and "beliefs" when it gets tough to keep the original stand. Obama has shown a lack of character, and now he is showing a total lack of class. It just goes to show that a fancy degree and money can't get you much when it comes right down to it.

What the Democratic Party has become
So now in order to try to "get tough", they mock an old man for not being as able-bodied as they are. And it turns out it's because of injuries suffered in a war over thirty years ago. When this is pointed out, there are no mea cuplas as they continue to mock him. Here in the real world, away from politics, we'd call that sort of behavior childish, immature and just plain mean.

I guess the saying Democrats have is true after all. When it comes to the being mean spirited, distorting words, racism, sexism, religious bigotry and the lowest of the lowest kind of attacks, IOKIYAR. It's OK If You (the target) Are a Republican.
Sue writes: Saturday, September, 13, 2008 7:57 AM
Getting nervous Dems?
McCain is not computer illiterate. He has stated he surfs the net and is able to find information. He just does not write e-mails because he cannot reach the keyboard.

While you Dems are licking your chops and thinking..now here, here is the tidbit that will finish McCain off, you better take a look in your OWN house first. Most savy politicians do not use e-mail.

You Dems have really unmasked yourselves for the intolerant dolts you have always been for the last 40 years.

Cornered Rats
The wheels have totally come off of the Dems fantasy bus. Evidence of this can be seen by some of these nasty posts. They are starting to realize they have LOST many of the voters they need to accomplish their communist agenda.

Now they are acted like cornered rats, just spouting anything (no matter how stupid). Pleeaaase keep it up.

The Dems have totally lost without their message machine. Nobody believes the B.S. media any longer. Without the media the Dems are dead in the water. They have no ideas...they only have hate and contempt for America and what America stands for.

Re: ChrisHerz
Obama is not different than any other Democratic presidential nominee in the last decade. You have to go back to 1984 to find a Democratic presidential nominee who doesn't hold a Ivy League degree and graduated from Law School, with the exception of AL Gore.

2008- Obama Harvard Law Degree
2004- Kerry Yale Degree, Boston College Law Degree
2000- Al Gore Harvard Degree, to clarify he went to Vanderbilt Law School but didn't receive a degree because he chose to run for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives
1996 & 1992- Clinton Yale Law Degree
1988- Dukakis Harvard Law Degree

It should also be said that even though the 1984 Nominee Walter Mondale didn't have an Ivy League degree, he did graduate from the University of Minnesota's Law School.

So really Obama is nothing different than what we've seen out of the Democratic Party for the last ten years. He's just another Ivy Leaguer with a Law Degree talking his way out of everything and spinning tales to appeal to his very "educated" party followers who can't seem to see through any of it.

Isn't it ironic that people generally hate lawyers but seem to love them as Democratic nominees?

Great comment by jea. Totally agree. It is amazing to see the dem disintegration.

Krauthammer's article today on the "Bush Doctrine" question posed by Charles Gibson was great. Also, Bialosky's article on the "95% Solution" was a great analysis of Obama's tax plan, or shall we say income redistribution plan. And Barone's article on McCain's Campaign "Flying by Obama's" was very interesting too.

McCain also can't play basketball very well, Obama. How 'bout you challenge him to a game of one-on-one, too?

This is important:

What you are now seeing is Obama's performance in a crisis challenging situation.

Are you reassured? Are you looking forward to the cool judgment and steady wisdom of President Barack Obama in a true crisis?

Thanks to Brad and others.

It actually says the charge isn't even true. Except the part about it being too painful for McCain to type. Due to those funny, funny broken fingers inflicted by the NVA.

"In certain ways, McCain was a natural Web candidate. Chairman of the Senate Telecommunications Subcommittee and regarded as the U.S. Senate's savviest technologist, McCain is an inveterate devotee of email. His nightly ritual is to read his email together with his wife, Cindy. The injuries he incurred as a Vietnam POW make it painful for McCain to type. Instead, he dictates responses that his wife types on a laptop. "She's a whiz on the keyboard, and I'm so laborious," McCain admits."

I sorta want to see Obama's grades again.

Did you really understand what Carol said. I wasn't alive when WWII was fought, but I am free today and I speak English and not Germany. It's not when the war was, just that it was and McCain and other soldiers went to fight. They didn't create the Vietman War, they just did as they were told and served their country to preserve freedom in this country and in others. The outcome was not his fauly either. That was political. Google Vietnam War.

Let me explain.
Where is it said that he is computer illiterate? I know how to work a typewriter but I choose not to because it is inefficient for me. I assume the same thing about McCain and computers.

In this case it is entirely appropriate to explain why he cannot use a keyboard. Don't you think this was a tactical error by the Obama campaign?

The main point about being free is that we have people who fight to protect our country and liberties. Most people appreciate those liberties and acknowledge the sacrifices others have made to keep them. It wouldn't even occur to others think that.
