If You Can't Get Political Mileage From It, Why Bother?

The Pentagon reveals that Barack's cancellation of plans to visit US troops overseas came after he learned that it couldn't be used for political purposes. Contrary to David Axelrod's earlier version of the story, in fact, Barack wasn't told not to come -- and, indeed, how could the Pentagon in fact refuse entry to a duly elected US senator?
In other words, Barack was welcome to visit the troops in his capacity as a US senator -- just not to bring along campaign staff and press.
Well, if you can't get any political mileage or good visuals from it, why bother?

These hospitalized members of the armed services must not have been those that he knew.
Wounded soldiers under the bus? An Axelrod had the nerve to lie about it? What a disgrace? Not enough people realize what a sleazeball Obama has working for him behind the curtain. Reason enough to turn on Obama and his campaign. |

"Of course this is typical because conservatives love to hide behind the troops when they don't have an issue-but did they support the troops when it came time to vote for the new GI bill? No, thank god for Democrats cause at least we show our support intangible ways instead of whining about the troops and doing nothing."
My understanding is that McCain had a competing bill with different terms based on legitimate differences in policy. As I recall, McCain, as the Pentagon requested, wanted the college benefit graduated. Further, McCain wanted the benefit to be transferrable to either a spouse or a child. Evidently, enough career members of the armed services wanted at least some member of their family to benefit even if they weren't going to use the college benefit.
To say McCain didn't support the troops in this regard is a lie. And Obama told that lie some time ago in the Senate in a real cheap shot of a prepared statement. |

I get more milage from the Krauts.
But I respect the troops!
Barack Obama, the President Elect |

National Socialism for the world. |

Look at your all-or-nothing statement.
In a Democratic Senate where the Democrats weren't as interested in retention beyond one three-year tour (as I recall) before the benefit was available, fine, majority rules.
But to say McCain didn't support the troops is this regard is a lie.
Webb's bill and McCain's bill took different approaches to a problem, and Webb's carried the day. Again, you're lying about McCain's support for the troops. |

I can't say this strong enough or enough times! Obama didn't want to confront injured troops with his anti-Iraqi Words, which could only make their efforts and suffering seem in vain!! What else would he say? Money was not an issue, he could have paid extra and policy could have been wavered, under the circumstances! How can this politician, the "yes we can" man accomplish important change when he can't even handle an easy, expected, worthy visit to give a moral boost to the hospitalized Service personnel?! Very telling where Obama is coming from and where he will lead us isn't it?! He measures his every move and will stop at nothing to win! |
|
the yes we can, rubber-band man! Yes we can, but no you can't! If I can't have my adoring MSM groupies taping my photo-op with wounded vets to show how much I care, then ah, um, well, um, let me make it clear, that I have always said, and ah, um, I will continue to say, ah, um, where's my damn teleprom-whatchamacallit-thing-ter, ah, um, oh hell, throw-em under da bus, cuz I'd rather be shootin' hoops anyway!
liberal qualifications for POTUS:
Bill played the sax and this clown shoots hoops! Hillarious!
Bill = the 1st Coward in Chief oblama = the 1st racist in chief wannabee!

why Obama is campaigning for money in GERMANY?
He spent more time in Germany then he did with the troops in Iraq or Afganistan, and our tax dollars paid for this trip.
Not one word about what the Senator's who went with him did. Did they visit any wounded military or shake hand with any of the men/women who are fighting for their freedom to fly over there? It appears all these Sen. did was sit and drink coffee or what ever and watched Obama make a complete fool of himself.
