Mike LeP: "rulings I don't like?" Really

Now that's creative! Did you think that up all by yourself?

Actually, it sounds like your the one with hand over your ears, running away, saying "I can't hear you.... la la la la la, I can't hear you...."

But hey, thanks for telling ME what I should be more concerned about. LOL

tonal shift?
Who is Fred Thompson? His message and identity are a train wreck. He pulls contract with America out of one pocket, and he says ignore tort reform.

He unravels an ancient screed of federalism, and he says forget about no child left behind. He squares up his Reagan mask, and he wants to hoard the microphone from the money and voice of neophytes.

Now that he has the room thoroughly confused. He says no tax-cut pledges. Well, read my lips...no Fred Thompson.

foot in mouth
It did not take long for Fred to get his foot in his mouth. This new marriage amendment is hard for the average voter to understand. What does it it really do especially after the Supreme Court interprets it.

Why do we need it? Why would it pass? What is wrong with the current approach of 1 man + 1 woman = a marriage.

If Fred is not for the regular marriage amendment is he a true "family values" conservative?

By the time Fred wastes a lot of time and energy explaining and defending this new amendment he will be off of message on other key issues. Hopefully, he will actually endorse the "unfair tax" instead of just dance around it.

hm

I find it hard to decide who is more full of it, Mike or Dick.

Consistency
Not at all surprised to see yet another republican that isn't clear on the concept of Separation of Powers.
Dick writes: Friday, September, 07, 2007 5:19 PM
Please...No more nuanced
How about no 'nuance'?

Marriage = 1 man and 1 woman.
Anything else is something else.

Shall we nuance 'up', 'down' ?

Oh, btw, just so's you know where I'm coming from I believe the following; the Constitution is a contract to secure rights, not bestow them. The Constitution is the instrument which was created to empower and restrict a government in its role to secure our declared sovereign rights. According to the founders of this great country, it was self evident that all people had 'em before there was a Constitution. So the founders began to implement this belief here, under God, speaking the same language....the language in which the documents were written.

All people who believe likewise are welcome in this country. Those who differ in these beliefs are welcome to implement their beliefs in a country of their own and are welcome to visit the United States of America if their intentions are friendly, if not they are unwelcome here.

May the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob continue to bless America.

Mike LeP: What?? You're kidding, right?

"Since when do state judges define or "alter" the definition of marriage without the direction of the legislature? How would he prevent them from altering it?"

Where do you think the term "activist judges" came from????

Judges have been "re-defining" and "altering" not only the defintion of marriage, but in the definitions and the laws of and about many, many things.

In fact, even liberal Supreme Court Judge Ginsburg's attempt to look at "Foreign Law In Interpreting Our Constitution."
