TH Exclusive: Interview with Sam Brownback on his McCain Endorsement
Posted by: Matt Lewis at 2:19 PM
I had a chance to interview Sen. Sam Brownback today regarding his endorsement of Sen. John McCain for president.

Brownback described McCain as: "The full package ...  A pro-Life candidate who can beat Hillary Clinton in the fall..."

He added:  "I believe the next president needs to have foreign policy experience" -- and told me: "He's been a fiscal conservative since before it was cool."

Brownback also urged conservatives to "take another look at John," and to, "look at the record."

One Amnesty Candidate Endorses Another
So what? We need a President who will enforce the laws, not one who will change them to benefit those breaking them.

Giving Senator McCain a Second Look
Senator Brownback is right. Senator McCain deserves a second look. He's been consistent on his positions and is by far the most qualified candidate to handle foreign policy.

McCain Is Consistent
He consistently wants amnesty for illegal aliens. I will not vote to give my country away.

McCain is unelectable...
Here we go again: Gang of 14, McCain-Feingold, amnesty for illegal aliens, wrong on taxes. If that were not enough to sink the McCain Ship, he has no idea how quick he'll be shredded by the Clinton crime family in the general election. I'll bet Hillary's investigators are poring through McCain's trash even now, looking for ammunition to use against him in the Fall. Come on Senator Brownback. Get real.

Sam Who?
Oh yeah, the guy who voted for the Senate amnesty bill before he voted against it. And this is news why?

Brownback endorses McCain
First, God bless McCain for his enormous sacrifice in Vietnam. But we are at the most dangerous time in our history and we better be awfullly careful who we nominate. Sen McCain has mental problems--who wouldnt after six years as a POW? --you neocons keep up an incessant chatter about Hillary; each week she collects more baggage, the latest bucket of dead fish is the little matter of campagin contrabutions. The election is a year away. Why don*t you ever consider the *dark horse*, a true conservative with nothing to conceal,l73rd Airborne paratrooper in the Vietnam war Duncan Hunter??What are you neocons and bushbots afraid of???

HUNTER 2008

Securing the border and enforcing the law is the only way we get to keep our rule of law, our representative Republic, and our Constitution. We must elect a President who WILL secure the border and enforce the law. If citizenship becomes meaningless, this will no longer be the United States of America.

The so-called "top tier" will not get out the voters necessary for a GOP win. Increasing turnout is the key. Give people something to vote for. Not just the lesser of two evils. Won't work this time. People are fed up with the inundation of illegal aliens. They would come out in droves for the clear choice of D=amnesty or R=enforcement. They will stay home if they both equal amnesty.

There is a huge majority of American citizens waiting for someone to pledge to uphold the laws and secure the borders, let's not ignore them any more.

Funny how being consistent seems to have become more important than being right.

You're misreading the results. Sometimes the only way to purge RINO's is electing conservative Democrats. There still are some still in the south. Heath Shuler D-NC has introduced the SAVE Act. It has been endorsed by Tom Tancredo R-CO. My Congressman Eric Cantor R-VA has signed onto it as a co-sponsor.

your calling the people of Va.,"xenophobic" because they don't want illegal aliens colonizing their state, stoops to the level of "race baiter", and I think is an oxymoron to your alias.

Can't you come up with anything better, because your statement is a damn outright falsehood?

AND MCCAIN WILL ENDORSE MIKE HUCKABEE
ONLY HUCKABEE CAN DEFEAT HILLARY / OBAMA

If people would actually listen to Huckabee, they will discover that HE IS right on about the IMMIGRATION Issue. HE IS NO BUSH CLONE on the issue. Those who violate the law will be deported.

NOW HEAR THIS .... You are all in for a treat.... The lid has just been blown off about the latest ELECTION SCANDAL to ROCK in BOTH and REPUBLICAN and DEMOCRATIC PARTY's as the PUBLIC is made aware of it.

The Shift in Momentum IS FOR PRESIDENT HUCKABEE in 2008 & Exposing the Unethical Tactics of Political Masons

what's driving all of this hatred still
what u guys said are reasonable…
but, being a black woman, who shows so much interests in interracial relationship, and trying to find her prince, but,i wanna say in the past 2 weeks I have been to several forum sites about interracial relationship etc and to my surprise, I find that many people say horrible things about me for date outside of their race! such as something on http://www.interracialsingleonline.com/. I would like to know what's driving all of this hatred still?

Sammy writes: Thursday, November, 08, 2007 12:16 PM
Professor X
Professor X, I just visited Huckabee's website to get his official position on immigration. I was surprised to see that his official position on this issue states that he would never grant amnesty. Okay, all fine and good BUT....How does he define amnesty? Remember that Bush, McCain, Kennedy, Giuliani, and the whole Hee Haw amnesty gang all claim that they don't support amnesty as well -- they just call it regularization, normalization, path to citizenship, etc. They seem to think that if you require an illegal to pay a token fine and jump through a few rubber stamp hoops it's all of a sudden "NOT AMNESTY".

If Huckabee wants us to take his conversion seriously then he better tell us what he considers amnesty and that he believes this whole "earned" citizenship nonsense is still amnesty. The onus is on Huckabee given his very accomodating history with illegals.

You seem to be in tight with the Huckster, so you might want to pass this along -- as the Who so eloquently sang, "We Won't Get Fooled Again"!
SunThe1 writes: Thursday, November, 08, 2007 2:21 PM
I will
I will be voting for Sen. McCain in the primaries. He is well qualified to be CIC, and has vowed to veto pork bills. THose are two things a president can actually do. Oh, and I think he has the best shot at winning over Hillary Clinton. That's important too.
Most of the other issues are for the congress. Ironically, people most concerned about single issues will pay little attention to who they're electing to represent them in those regards.
Sammy writes: Thursday, November, 08, 2007 3:05 PM
SunThe1
SunThe1, The money that McCain will save the American taxpayer through his admirable vetos of pork bills will be completely dwarfed by the costs he will foist upon the American people with his signing of an Amnesty bill. And yes, McCain still supports amnesty. He just wants to grant this act AFTER one of his political hacks declares the border secure.
SunThe1 writes: Thursday, November, 08, 2007 5:11 PM

He said he "got the message" loud and clear on immigration. I believe him. That's more up to congress than the president anyway. There are issues that are more immediate to the presidency: who can get elected for starters, who can prosecute the war, who will veto spending. I think there are several republican candidates who would do a good job (and I'll vote for whoever's nominated most likely). I'm not convinced some of them are electable against Ms Clinton though.
Virginia Patriot writes: Thursday, November, 08, 2007 5:23 PM
SunThe1
His hearing is very bad. The message he heard was we were not ready for amnesty yet. He did hear that we want the border secured, he did not hear that we do not want amnesty ever, we want enforcement. Attrition through enforcement is the one way to uphold the rule of law. Changing the laws to suit those breaking them is bad policy. Only the President can ensure enforcement, or lack thereof, as with the current one.
SunThe1 writes: Thursday, November, 08, 2007 7:30 PM
VP
Your points are well taken. By your posts, I assume you are pretty much a single issue voter, and I certainly understand why you would want another candidate, one who hadn't erred on this issue. I think your candidate would probably make a good president. If he gets nominated I'll very likely vote for him.
Chaplain Bill writes: Thursday, November, 08, 2007 9:43 PM
I guess everyone has forgotten
that it hasn't been all that long ago that Sen. McCain couldn't decide whether to be a Republican or switch sides and become a Democrat and tip the balance of power in the Senate.

I appreciate his service to the country and am sorry he was a POW, but I wouldn't vote for him if he was the Republican candidate. I don't trust him any further than I can throw him.
Tazzmax writes: Thursday, November, 08, 2007 11:05 PM
What
Chaplain Bill said!

Sun the 1, a president has the bully pulpit and can get a lot done,....BOOSH, could've solved the illegal crisis long ago, if he had just wanted to!
He won't even enforce the laws on the books.

McCain would ruin our country by amnesting 20 million illegal aliens.
Tazzmax writes: Thursday, November, 08, 2007 11:10 PM
Huckleberry
is a phony and a liar,....just do the research guys, he tried to make Ar. a sanctuary state for illegal aliens.

Dontcha wonder how much Hucksters' pal, Don Tyson, had to do with that?
