Both Politico and the WSJ are calling it. Chris Christie and Bob McDonnell are the two governors in charge
The White House has lent it's hand to the Democratic campaign efforts in those states, but White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs says the White House isn't paying attention:I don't think, looking at the two gubernatorial races, you can draw with any great insight what's going to happen a year from now.
Whether or not these elections are bellweathers is the subject of heated debate, especially with the NY-23 results. still pending....

All to get ready for NJ's bear season in 2010 with Corzine and his bunny hugging "Fish and Game" people out of the way. Can smell that white smoke already!!!

New Jersey and Virginia each have relatively large numbers of electoral votes (15 NJ; 13 V). It is not insignificant that both of these important states went from being Democrat Blue States to Republican Red. That's way more important than what happened anywhere else.
How many MORE states has Obama lost in just 1 year?
That's the million dollar question.
I suspect these 2 aren't the only ones he'll lose for the Democrats. |
|
The most important thing to note about what took place tonight is that 2 states with a significant number of electoral college votes (NJ-15; V-13) just went from being Blue states to Red states...Obama losing both, only 1 year after having won them. That, and Obama's own statement on the significance of NJ is what definitely makes this a referendum on the Obama failed first year as president.
As evidence of the rejection of Obama by the voters, esp. in NJ, this story was carried by MSNBC on Sunday during Obama's 11th hour rallies for Corzine in NJ:
CAMDEN, N.J. - In a final campaign swing on behalf of the only governor seeking re-election this fall, President Barack Obama on Sunday pitched Democratic Gov. Jon Corzine's bid as a key component for the White House to make good on its political promises.
"He's one of the best partners I have in the White House. We work together," Obama said. "We know our work is far from over."
Obama drew 6,500 people at a rally in Camden and another 11,000 later in Newark, according to White House estimates. He urged supporters to work hard to give Corzine another term in office so he can work with Washington to help repair a brittle economy. A Corzine loss would be seen as a political embarrassment for the White House." __________________________________________
There isn't any way they would have admitted this had they not really thought Obama's appearances could put Corzine over the top. Knowing that the White House and their propaganda arm in the Network News organizations will try to downplay tonight's results, I'm scanning all the archival evidence I can, proving just how important (and how crushing) a defeat this was for Obamaism.

Good ideas. Hard to see how you could get the parasites to loosen their grip on your taxes. They vote their raises in the wee hours of the morning, when no one is looking. They have a better Soc. Sec. plan and better health plans. Many, not all, come in rich and leave superich. What true servant does that? Many live in gated communities and ride in dark limosines, breaking the speed limit, while you dare not. And, worst of all, they think we are all stupid, clinging to our bibles and guns. |

have a 700,000 advantage in voter registrations. This is stunning. The discontent with obama and his acolytes, after only one year is stunning. Repudiation, repudiation of his agenda, of his socialization of health care, the automobile industry, and banking. Repudiation of leftists, found in the House, has begun as well. All eyes will be on each and everyone of them, especially these so-called Blue Dogs. Vote for Nancy Reid's health care bill, and you will be committing political suicide.
Conservatives love barack obama, we just love him! He's our "messiah".....praise his holy name...."yes we can, yes we can, yes we can"....... |

Where are the trolls tonight? |

one election at a time. From now on, ALL AMERICANS regardless of party affiliation MUST VIEW POLITICIANS as their employees - not leaders but employees.
If there is ONE lesson americans must learn from the Obama Policies, is that Politicians can get to a point where they believe they can INSTRUCT AMERICANS
1. On how much they can earn (salary caps) 2. What healthcare they MUST purchase - yikes! 3. What bulbs they can use in their homes (those efficiency laws that punish people who are not using efficient bulbs) 4. When to send additional troops, even if the military commanders are asking for them, never mind the casualties in the battle field - appeasement of our opponents comes first!
NO WE CAN'T LET THESE PEOPLE THINK THEY ARE OUR BOSSES - WE HIRED THEM AND WE CAN FIRE THEM.
Corzine - You are fired! Deeds - You are fired!
And soon, Bill Ritter in CO, you will be fired!

had better produce. I will be watching with every bit as critical eye as I watch the democrats. |

Just a precursor to what is coming next year.... |
|
Now is not the time to relax or let up, or rest or blink. Savor the moment, then keep working.
Tomorrow we wake up and still need to fight the health care farce, cap and tax, marxism, communism and on and on.
The commies never rest, we won't either.
If marxism equals social justice then it's time for a little social injustice. |

That is supposed to be "phase" instead of "faze." |

*Anderson cooper is slurring his words...
He can't take it anymore!

I really hope that Obama takes this opportunity to rethink the policies that he is shoving down the throats of Americans. I think that this is a big barometer of public opinion and I think he should see it as so also. But, as another blog said (with evidence from CNN), he isn't going to be watching these results, so it probably won't faze him. |
