Don't Hate The Playa, Hate The Game

As I noted yesterday, Obama's campaign has sent out a warning that there would be consequences if Hillary somehow stole the election.
But one man's stolen election is another man's hardball politics. And what some Obama supporters might certainly view as "stealing" the election, Hillary supporters (and others) might view merely as playing by the rules -- or even -- playing the game.
Let's look at the super delegates, for example. Aside from the fact that it's ironic that the supposed "party of the little guy" is the party that trusts elitists and insiders to potentially reverse the popular will of the people, the rules do specifically allow these super delegates to be an independent voice. In fact, it seems to me that they would be superfluous if they always merely ratified the popular vote.
Another issue is seating the Michigan and Florida delegates. As I also noted yeterday, there are some good reasons why this should be done.
All of this won't change the fact that Obama's supporters will probably view this as Hillary having "cheated" them. Until recently, that's how I saw things, too.
But keep in mind, though Hillary is currently trying to take advantage of the weird Democratic "rules," such as super delegates, she has also been hurt by them. For example, if the Democrats had "winner-take-all" primaries, she would be well ahead right now, having won New York and California, for instance. If she's going to be hurt by some of these rules, why can't she also benefit from some of these rules?
I don't like Hillary's Leftist ideology, but I do admire her for not giving up. I don't think anyone should fault her for trying to win this election ...

Obama is not black: he is "passing" This guy, Hussein Obama is half white and half Arab. He is NOT African American.
see: kennethelamb.blogspot.com/2008/02/barak-obama-questions-about-ethnic.html
He wants black people to think he's black to get their votes in a huge voting block.
he also wants people to think they are "making history" by electing the first "black president"
Neither is true unfortunaterly, which makes him a deceiver and unworthy of the Presidency.

Everyone was worried about REAGAN and his age and he did just fine. Mccain dont have to worry about his age and health problems he needs to find a way to bring Conservatives on line with him. Hasnt done that yet he probably needs to appoint a Conservative for VP might help but dont know yet. |
|
I am also very concerned about Sen. McCain. Although he is a fine veteran of another silly war, he also is a potential victim of post-traumatic stress syndrome.
It is worrisome to me to think of him faced with a terrorist attack. It is psychologically possible for his past torture to come back, and him to overreact bringing the nation into a dangerous situation. He is also 71 years old and aging fast.
Lastly, one more point on Clinton. She is 60 years old, and aging as well.
So much for experience... |

I have a comment regarding the 3 a.m. call. Hillary Clinton could not even protect interns from her lecherous husband in the White House, how can she protect Americans from terrorists.
She claims to be a strong woman--a strong woman would have called a spade a spade, and carried on her political life without him.
Going on Saturday Night Live and spoofing is a disgrace when on the one hand she is crying upon seeing veterans wounded (who she actually was part of sending to Iraq with her vote) and then laughing in light of a country that is in shambles tell me she just is not serious.

Monster...maybe, I have not seen her without make up. Hypocrite definitely... While she's out there telling PA she wants to create jobs she just asked for someone to be fired. http://www.congratulationshillary.com/ |

Based on the past and most recent election results, Obama and Clinton are the likely losers. Obama may have won more states and more delegates, but Clinton won the biggest and most important states in winning an election (ex: Ohio, Texas). Clinton likely won't get enough popular votes though to win the presidential election. On the other hand, in the first Super Tuesday election in early February, McCain won coast to coast and proved himself to be a formidable candidate - despite vocal opponents in his own party, and despite having to campaign on a relatively smaller budget. His slight weakness was in the deep South (with ultra conservatives), but if he gets a strong VP candidate in that region, he has a very strong chance of winning the November election. |

Mr. Lewis, thank you. If the situation were reversed, I believe Senator Obama would be doing the same things to win. In fact, we have yet to see which hardball tactics he will employ to try and win now that he has had a few losses. As he will also not be able to garner enough delegates to reach 2025, it appears he has been working on the superdelegates rather ferociously. |

The "super delegates" were put in the system so that the "public" would not run away with some silly fad candidate, ie Barack Obama. The man who calls himself an "African American" with all the black voters following him like the Piped Piper of black voters. No one seems to want to talk about the fact that this man is not really an "African American". His mother was white, his father was from Kenya and not an American citizen. He grew up with father #2 in Indonesia and then was raised by his white grandparents. To use the race issue as a means to his candidacy is a pathetic way to get to the White House. Most blacks actually think Obama is like them, when in no way is he remotely "African American" except for his skin pigmentation. Then there's the media who is only interested in making money on this "dream" candidate, when their priority should be in reporting the news and not injecting their biased opinion onto the viewers. Cable news has taken the effectiveness away from the public broadcast news mediums and should act responisbly with what they do, oh but then they wouldn't be making the almight dollar. This whole primary season coverage puts to shame the idea of responsible journalism. Obama is a FACADE. It's also a joke to watch the female pundits attempting to stick their finger nails into Hillary with each and every question they get, regardless of the content of the question. |

while everyone is praising Senator Clinton for being so crafty and dirty this is what you teach your children. With all the complaints last week about Senator Obama's connection with Hon. Louis Farrakan why was it not brought up, to balance the arguement that Gov. Rendell of PA (who gave whites the okay not to vote for a black) graced the same stage with Hon Farrakan for the benefit of common goals.
Mr. Rendell, whose speech preceded Mr. Farrakhan's, commended the Nation of Islam for its emphasis on family values and self-sufficiency.
Americans are not very honest and it will backfire. |

letting people vote and pick a nominee but the democrats must have known about the single digit IQ voters who pick on identity and not ideas or experience. They must have also known about the "old money " crowd like Kennedy's who endorse an inexperienced candidate because they can own him and his administration once he is installed. Kennedy's and Kerry's need a figure who they can control and they found an empty suit who majors in civil rights to do the dirty work of the ruling class liberals. Get the empty suit out and nominate an experienced lady who might actually hold her own when it comes to jihadists and foreigners. Obama will be owned by foreigners and domestic ruling liberals.....just a puppet president. Didn't they say that about JFK? He had shady connections that caused his demise? |

who was the genius that got paid to take away individual rights to vote or count their vote? Dr. Dean needs to stop self medicating and realize individual rights to vote and have those votes counted is a constitutional right for FL and Michigan voters, and party rules should be aligned with the constitution. |

Hillary makes me proud when I think of all the work she is putting into this nomination. I'd like to thank her, her staff for their dilegence. All those republicans who said they would never vote for McCain will become irrelevant as americans get convinced that neither Hillary nor Hussein are qualified to be commander in chief and their bickering turns americans to the Mc as a viable option courtesy of the dems. chaotic rules. Is this a great country or what? Hollar to ma gal Hil, and ma passes who made it possible for her to be the nominee. Let a playa play,..... |

That photo makes Hillary look like Dorothy clicking her ruby slippers saying "There's no place like the White House."
Yes, it's dirty pool to exclude voters in those two states, because their local officials dared the national party to do what it did. It's also dirty pool, maybe dirtier pool, to move the goalposts for Obama, keep him off the ballot and then count the votes for his opponent.
I think this whole earlier-than-thou nonsense has to stop. Otherwise we'll be holding primaries simultaneously with the previous congressional elections. I for one am sick of politics and this is when it should be starting, not 6 months into the process. There should be a national law that no state may hold primaries earlier than 8 months before the election. That gives them sufficient time to do what they need to do without involving the rest of us.

the "party of the little guy" does the super delegate dance in order to get the nomination, or whatever.
It reminds me of 'Animal Farm' - we're all equal, but some of us are more equal than others.
Their hypocrisy is truly spectacular
They are immune to embarassment
And they wonder why they keep losing |
