GOTV in Georgia
Posted by: Hugh Hewitt at 10:11 AM
It is run-off day in Georgia and Saxby Chambliss needs every vote to avoid a Minnesota-style cliff-hanger.

So call or e-mail your pals in Georgia and remind them to get over to the polls.

I'm not an R, but the D party is anathema to me. Unless/until there is a drastic realignment in US politics, the R party is the only viable vehicle for meaningful change. That means working with the establishment to change the platform. Sorry, the L's, Paulbot and Naderite movements are doomed to political irrelevancy, and will only ever represent the conscience vote. Mankind is made not primarily of idealists, but selfishness.

Our system of federalism has always been a strong bulwark against that urge, buttressed by our civic institutions (schools, churches, charities, holidays, traditions) which have been under fire from within for decades. The founders pointed out how susceptible to populism by a charismatic persona our system is. And what do we have now?

Time will tell if we have a man of Cincinattus character, or just another political opportunist. My expectations are very low based on BO's history, such as we know, the "leaders" in the legislature and world events. But, I'm a natural optimist, so anything is possible:).

What is this we you speak of

R

If by "we" you mean Rhinos, the open borders crowd, the Democrats (as he votes with them all the time and has a man crush on Kennedy),Rockerfella Republican Golf Club types, More spending, Bail Outs, Insane agreements that basically make off shore drilling impossible, if that is what "we " means in your world well congrats you won

Georgia Lost
Conservatism Lost
American lost

enjoy that victory

Thank God
We won. One less seat to have to snatch from the illuminati left come 2010.

Barack Obama, the President-elect and standard bearer of the Democratic Party calls Ludacris' lyrics "outrageously offensive", and Jim Martin chooses to campaign with him. You don't see a problem with that?

You don't know anything about me. Why do you assume that I'm a bigot?

Hugh
Let's be truthful. Saxby is a terrible Senator, represents everything wrong about the direction of our country. Time to wake up, Georgia, and join the future.

what's wrong with Dem Supermajority
it will make it more difficult (though hardly impossible) to blame the next 4 years on Republicans.
Jamesbondi writes: Tuesday, December, 02, 2008 2:00 PM
bigot
why would that photo have any bearing on anyone?
ScarletPimpernel writes: Tuesday, December, 02, 2008 11:11 AM
btw
Saxby STILL doesn't understand that we're in a recession or what one even is.
ScarletPimpernel writes: Tuesday, December, 02, 2008 11:11 AM
good thing
the Repubs insulted the cons huh?

GOP-RIP?
Has Chambliss decided to represent the citizens of GA and not the illegal aliens and their employers?

Sorry, here's the photo

Hugh, did you see this photo?
It's of Saxby's opponent, Jim Martin, with rappers TI, Young Jeezy and Ludracris.

This photo should be plastered all over Georgia.
