So, Who Is Surprised?
Posted by: Hugh Hewitt at 9:55 AM
Carole Simpson moderated one of the 1992 presidential debates between George Bush, Bill Clinton and Ross Perot.

She's retired from ABC now, but let the mask fall at a Clinton rally last month (HT: Howard Kurtz):

Simpson took her 14-student journalism class, "Road to the White House," to the rally to show students how to cover a political event, and possibly introduce them to the Democratic front-runner.

Instead, Simpson, who is best known as the first woman to moderate a presidential debate, found herself professing her preference for Clinton as the first female president.

As Clinton was fielding questions from the audience, Simpson tried several times to get her attention, shouting "Senator Clinton!" across the crowded room.

When she finally caught Clinton's eye, she offered an off-the-cuff endorsement that took both parties aback.

"I want to tell you tonight, because I happen to be here with my students, that I endorse you for president of the United States," she said. "It's very freeing now that I'm not a journalist and I can speak my mind, and I wanted you to know I think you are the woman, and I think this is the time."

Wow, what a shocker. An MSMer turns out to root for the lefty.  Is anyone really surprised?  This is the MSM, and 90% of its senior elites are Democrats masquerading as "objective" analysts.  They all deny this while working, but in retirement it turns out they have been card-carrying lefties their whole lives.  They tell us it didn't affect their work, but we laugh and move on.  As Thomas Edsall told me in September of last year:  "I agree that whatever you want to call it, mainstream media, presents itself as unbiased, when in fact, there are built into it, many biases, and they are overwhelmingly to the left."

Simpson offered to resign from her teaching post because of her outburst of honesty.  What a "profession."
