Is Rudy good enough for the NRA?
Posted by: Jonathan Garthwaite at 12:12 PM
Jim Geraghty read former NRA president Sandy Froman's column last week on Townhall.com and thinks it lowers the bar just low enough so Rudy Giuliani can be good enough on gun rights for NRA types.

Note: I owe you a doughnut Jim.

The button-down gun lover
I like many things about Rudy. I don't like a couple things about Rudy. This is the second big one and its just as much a show-stopper as the first, but it is the one that the President could actually have more impact on if only we would ever get a President who would make a definitive stand on it.

Rudy, Conservative?
Not on the 2nd Amendment. Not on Roe v. Wade. Not on illegal aliens. Not on "gay rights"(whatever that is). Not conservative.

Conservatives can nominate a conservative. All it takes is not acting like sheep and getting herded into nominating a northeast liberal. 49% will never vote for Hillary, only 60% voted last time. Turnout was the difference. Give Americans a chance to vote for someone who WILL secure the border and watch turnout soar. Americans want their government to fulfill its most basic responsibility.

The primary responsibility of the U.S. government is to protect the territorial integrity and people of this country. They have completely abdicated this responsibility. Both parties have been complicit in this. We are being told it is not possible to control our borders, enforce our laws, and thereby control our destiny as a nation. Hogwash. We are being sold out by corporations intent on importing workers for jobs that can't be exported with the taxpayers paying the true costs, financial and human. If we act like sheep and don't stop the inundation across our borders, we will lose our country without a bleat.

Condi Rice supports Second Amendment
If Rudy gets the nomination, then the best VP choice for him is Condi Rice. She was interviewed by Larry King back in May 2005, and she spoke about the bombings in Birmingham, Alabama. Her father and other men in her neighborhood took their rifles to protect family and home from the Night Raiders. She also said that if the Sheriff could have taken away the guns, the raids would have killed many of the African-Americans families who lived there.

Did you know that the latest Zogby poll shows 41% of the Republicans believe that if Condi Rice entered the 2008 race, that she would bring excitment to the field.

Now that is worth debating.
