An interview conducted by the South Carolina newspaper, The State, with Governor Mark Sanford's "spiritual adviser" Warren "Cubby" Culbertson may have shed new light on the affair.
As The State reports,
When asked if he had met Maria, Culbertson paused, then looked up, an embarrassed smile creasing his face.
"I'm not going to comment," he said.
... Assuming Sanford's "spiritual adviser" did not accompany him on one of his trysts, this seems to imply Maria may have come to Columbia, South Carolina at some point.

You need to get a job at the National Enquirer or TMZ....or maybe you can get a production job on "The View." You are too girly and gossippy for politics.....

Put it to rest and report on something with purpose....like why our president responded meekly to one of our greatest enemies and one that bends the rules to keep themselves in power, and responded fiercely to a latin american country exercising its democratic rights and enforcing the laws of their own constitution.
Stop writing about affairs. Its none of your damn business. |

because the Bush administraion lied us into war with a country that had nothing to do with 9/11 or WMD...yada, yada, yada,...KayAnn |

You were asked to clarify something by me over at the "meddle" thread. Maybe you ought to address that. Thanks! |

The Republicans will no doubt stand up and applaud him for it. |

undermines the sanctity of marriage. No, sir, you undermine the sanctity of marriage, just like all your repressed GOP frauds.
Redeem yourself, governor sanford. Before you quit, announce that you now favor giving gay people their right to marry another gay person (orientation as a protected class, just like race or gender) because you see just how wrong you were. Oh, and for the nutcases who argue that being gay is a choice, that's not true, but choosing to f'k a woman who is not your wife time and time again IS a choice. Choosing to use state money to do that IS a choice.
It isn't going to be easy to get civil rights enforcement for gay people (though the president is starting to see that his separate but unequal plan of civil unions for gays is not going to be enough, and things will be changing there too), but every GOP fraud who gets caught like Sanford helps the cause of undoing DOMA and making gay marriage legal everywhere. |

How is this relevant? The only thing that truly matters is whether or not he was derelict in his duties as Gov. The whole affair is shameful but not politically relevant.
This is tabloid fodder not journalism. |
