We Will Never Forget
Posted by: John Campbell at 11:56 AM
I know most of you will never forget where you were on September 11, 2001. I know I certainly won’t. That day has been permanently ingrained in the minds of Americans.  The attacks still resonate in the hearts and minds of Americans. But when we remember the 7th anniversary of that fateful day, I hope you take a moment to remember all those who were lost that day. Also take a moment to think of our sailors, soldiers, Coast Guardsmen, airmen, firefighters, police offices, and other first responders who have sacrificed themselves in the defense and preservation of our nation and freedom. This always reminds us of the importance of defending the Homeland and ensuring that terrorism will never strike on American soil again.

God Bless.

I will never forget
I had to drive 1000 miles that day, from Virginia to Florida. I listened to the events unfold on the radio for nearly the entire 16-hour trip. I thought it was a bad joke the first hour or so. As it sank in, I was stunned it could happen here. When you are on the road, you have lots of time to think. I had too much that day.

My son and 9/11
I did not realize that my 11 year old son had never seen the footage of the planes hitting the towers or of the first responders going into the towers- until this morning.

While I watch every year- he has usually already gone to school by 8:30. But this morning FOXnews started their 9/11/2001 footage earlier.

I found my son standing before the TV in the kitchen with his backpack on and tears running down his cheeks.

When he saw the first responders heading for the towers he said “Momma- they died didn’t they.” “Yep, many of them did.”

“Why don’t we talk more about this, momma. I want to know more.”

“Okay- we’ll find it on TV or DVD and we’ll watch it and talk about it. Now dry your tears and head out for the bus.”

“Momma, I love you. And I really love America.”

“Me too, baby.”

Truely Humbled
I remember how humbled I was to find out how the men and women thwarted the plans of the terrorist and sacrificed there own lived to save many. I am so thankful to be an American and live in a land where so many sacrifices have been made for my freedom and safety. My prayers are with the families who lost loved ones on 9/11 and to let you know how grateful I am. These memories of people uniting together and going into harms way to save others will never ever ever be erased from my memory!
God Bless America!

You have quite an extraordianary boy. He's a great American already!

I hope to raise my son to have the same pride in his country. I'm already trying! In his 6 month pictures, he is wearing camo pants, custom dog tags I had made for him with his name, and the American Flag as the background. They turned out beautifully!

I want him to love this country for what it was intended to be on the very first day and to always remember those before him that gave their lives to make his better.

Bless you and your family!

God bless you and your son.

I hope you will teach him about the millions of brave men and women who have given their lives so that he can live in freedom.
I hope you will teach him that those who would tear down this country are really no different than those who would destroy it.
I hope you will teach him to stand up when it might be easier to remain seated and silent...to say to these America-haters, "NO! You are wrong! I WILL defend my country!"
I hope you will teach him about duty and honor, God and country, and may he pass these lessons on to still another generation.

Paddy and Sweetheart-You made me cry!
Thanks for your kind words.

My son is extraordinary (as are his college aged brother and sister)! Instilling love of country, duty, honor, and right have always been a huge priority with us.

When my older son was about my little one's age, he used to make me stand at the foot of his bed EVERY NIGHT and sing the Star Spangled Banner.

After my son got on the bus this morning, I bawled my eyes out- but I was so proud that he grasped the idea of true heroism and self-sacrifice. I will find the real time footage of 9/11/2001 and we will watch it together.

History will tell....
Mr. Campbell...
I hope that you watched the Documentary on History Channel...I am not a big fan of HC but as I was chanel surfing I caught this and watched it ...it was something! I hope you did as well, and hope even more that many others did also....I was so moved and angered, but it was all the feelngs from that first day comming back...that was a good thing...it made me see it and get more motivated to stop the deniars from comming into power and those who are fighting to destroy this country, I also had my 12yur. old daughter watch, who was getting a review of History that is not taught in our schools, but thank God she is not in public school.
There is another Doc, that is called "The Cross" that you and your Readers may also want to check out.....

Hope you do and your readers...

Thank you.
