EgObamaniacal
Posted by: Carol Platt Liebau at 3:47 PM
If I were working on Barack's campaign, I would worry about the meme of "Obamania" morphing, slowly but surely, into one about Barack's narcissism -- think of it as "EgObamania."

The newest example?  Joan Vennocchi's column in the Boston Globe, which comes after Charles Krauthammer's scathing essay in Friday's Washington Post.  Vennocchi -- no friend to Republicans -- nonetheless had this to say: "There's no such thing as a humble politician. But when Obama looks into the mirror, he doesn't just see a president; he sees JFK."

The appearance of arrogance doesn't play well in America, where we are a democratic republic that understands we're elected mortals -- not gods, not royalty -- to be our leader.  It wouldn't be becoming if it were manifested by someone like George H.W. Bush, who came to the presidency with a long and respected career of public service.  But from a man of 46, who was serving in the Illinois state legislature four years ago today and who has never held a "real job" in the business world, it's nigh well unendurable.

If Barack is counting on "Obamania" to carry him over the finish line, he'd darn well better find a way to tamp down on both the appearance and reality of EgObamania.

Most Americans have no idea

of who Obama is. Even those who pay attention do not know if Obama remains enamored of the communism of his youth or has transformed into the black liberation theology supporter reflected by his 20 year membership in a black liberation thoology church or is he really a far left radical who has advanced through his relationships with men like Ayers and Rezko or is he simply an intellectual elitist as he and his wife have demonstrated with so many of their remarks.

Hopefully when Americans turn their attention to the election they will realize that the real Obama has not yet been revealed and the voters will be unwilling to gamble America's future on a complete unknown. Even Obama's supporters do not know who the real Obama is!!!!

Obama the Narcissist
Obama is not only in love with himself, Mr. Perfect who cannot be criticized, Obama is also stupid. Obama, the man who wants to be, will campaign "in all 57 states"??? Today Obama talked about the "bomb that hit Pearl Harbor"?? Chicago is missing its village idiot, but I wish it would take him back.

CNN?s Situation Room showed Obama discussing his plan for ending the Iraq war, saying he would "call in the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and give them a new mission, and that is to bring the war in
Iraq to a close."

As NewsBusters reports, and what CNN isn't telling you, is that there's just one problem: that's not the job of the Joint Chiefs of Staff -- the war is under the jurisdiction of CENTCOM. Of course,
the liberal media have ignored this major gaffe by the potential Commander In Chief.

Most Americans are not fooled by Obama "I'm so pretty" - Senator BARACK OBAMA was invited to address a major gathering of the American Indian Nation two weeks ago in upstate New York.
HE spoke about HIS future plans for increasing every Native American's present standard of living, should HE one day become the President. HE referred to his career as a Senator, how HE had signed 'YES' for every Indian issue that came to his desk for approval. Although Obama, Mr. Words dAre So Cheap, was vague on the details of his plan, he seemed most enthusiastic about his future ideas for helping his 'red sisters and brothers'.

At the conclusion of his speech, the Tribes presented the Senator with a plaque inscribed with his new Indian name - Walking Eagle. The proud Senator then departed in his motorcade, waving to the crowds.

A news reporter later inquired to the group of chiefs of how they came to select the new name given to the Senator. They explained that Walking Eagle is the name given to a bird so full of ... it can no longer fly.

Here's hoping for a crash landing of the biggest fake in politics - Obama.

I have no intention of voting for EITHER amnesty candidate, R or D.

We have run out of time on the illegal alien inundation. We either stop it now or we lose our country. McCain won't do it. He thinks it's impossible to enforce our laws. I want someone who doesn't.

The GOP cedes their best issues by running McCain. He agrees with Obama on Gore-Bull warming, gays, guns, and amnesty. I want someone who doesn't.

America is worth saving. Vote conservative.

The Worst Democrat Nominee In Memory
The GOP's answer is to nominate the worst GOP nominee ever. Only a liberal, anti-drilling, amnesty candidate could lose to this neophite.

Here's Steve-O's question answered
Steve-O asks,
"Why is it important to win in Afghanistan, but OK to lose in Iraq?"

Answer: because that's where most informed people think the activities of Islamicist extremists are based, and it's closer to getting bin Laden. Iraq was already "won" a few years ago. All that's being lost is the dream of Bush and the neocons to establish perpetual military supremecy in Iraq.
Steve-o writes: Sunday, July, 20, 2008 10:39 PM
Obama's latest discovery...
KABUL - U.S. presidential hopeful Barack Obama called the situation in Afghanistan "precarious and urgent" on Sunday and said Washington should start planning to transfer more troops there from Iraq.

So, when things were tough in Iraq, he wanted out, but with things looking tough in Afghanistan, he wants a....SURGE! This should go over big in liberal circles.

Why is it important to win in Afghanistan, but OK to lose in Iraq? Let's take a second look: The situation is "precarious and urgent" so Washington should "start planning..." Wow, now that's decisive. This poor idiot doesn't even know that every possible contingency is already planned out by the military. You want to surge, tough guy? Enlist today!

Steve-o writes: Sunday, July, 20, 2008 10:26 PM
Obama doesn't...
...get elected. He will slowly fade over the fall and his vote total will be about 6% less than he polls (Bradley effect). His idea of leadership is to follow Europeans. His idea of foreign policy is to beg unreasonable dictators to play nice. His idea of domestic policy is income redistribution. He is not ready for the complex, flattening (T. Friedman) world we live in today.
A majority of Americans will figure all this out, no matter how far toward the center he tries to lean as the campaign wears on.

The day after Election Day
Ronnie will be telling us how racist the US is just because Obama didn't make it.

If he does, he WILL without a doubt be the worst president...EVER! He was a lousy state senator in Illinois. He has been a lousy US Senator, and he will be a disaster as president.

Can't you just see the lefties who come here putting lipstick on a pig for four years before he is removed from the presidency in one of the biggest landslides in the history of the nation.

Boy, gotta say, you guys sound
so resigned to an Obama presidency! I think that's the reason that there is virtually nothing on these blogs saying positive things about McCain. It's Republican politics 101, our guy sucks, so let's call the other guy a Marxist. That'll get him! See, the Red Scare stuff, the "Obama's a Muslim" stuff, the Obama's a rookie stuff just doesn't wash with the majority of Americans (thank God!). It would be much better if you guys realized that this man is going to be the next CIC, and rally around him. It'd be good for ya!

Attn: King Liberal, no surprise with the empty headed radical lefties etc,. In case it hasn't occured to you, this isn't a best/popular American Idol type competition. We need a proven, experienced, solid thinking leader for the most important job in the free world, not a personality, wishy washy Rookie! Beware, Buyers Remorse is pending. Who is the deluded Obama? We know who his misguided worshipers are! God help America. Ex Democrat

Yeah, I'm the one playing semantic games. Again, how is Obama the focal point of our foreign policy?
Dottie writes: Sunday, July, 20, 2008 5:51 PM
oh my
ronnie, it sounds like Obama gives you even more of a thrill than he gives Chris Matthews.

If you get your wish, and he becomes president (God forbid), are you going to be able to deal with all of the criticism he will face?

He will be a huge disappointment to so many, and those of us who saw it coming will never quit saying we told you so. In trying to be all things to all people, he will enrage most of the people most of the time.

Obama did NOTHING for Illinois, and he will do NOTHING for the US (except cause harm).
ronnie writes: Sunday, July, 20, 2008 5:28 PM
Rip: See, Obama is so good
that he doesn't have to make decisions. He speaks with sense and eloquence about foreign affairs, is in tune with what our real security needs are, and his message resonates so powerfully that President Bush is simply following his lead. Simple. But if you want to play silly semantic games, you can engage in that with your fellow wingnuts. But believe me, when he's President, I believe he will make wise decisions about our national security, and I wager by the end of his first term, you'll be a supporter as well. GOBAMA!

Ronnie
How is Obama the focal point of our foreign policy? What decisions has he made in the past year that have directly affected our foreign policy?
ronnie writes: Sunday, July, 20, 2008 4:54 PM
Concern troll
I appreciate Carol's concern and advice for Sen Obama to carefully "tamp down" on the Obamania. I love it when wingnuts dole out free advice! No, Sen Obama is going to win because he's shown good judgement and has run an excellent campaign. Perhaps more importantly, he's right on the issues so much so that McCain and Bush are flip flopping all over the place just to keep up with him. He is now the focal point of our foreighn policy, and he's not even President yet! GOBAMA!
