Dear Tony
You look good. You look like you feel good. I hope you are beating the cancer.

Good speech. Even if conservatives and Republicans aren't the same thing anymore.

What is a liberal republican?
Zorro says:

" If we conservatives want the things that Tony talked about, then we need to vote out the liberal republicans that work against us."

Let's see, what have liberal republicans accomplished:
1. The Great Emancipator..[Lincoln]
2. Teddy Roosevelt..created the national parks [environmentalist]
3. Earl Warren...[Chief Justice of the Supreme Court that eliminated segregation in schools]
4. Dwight Eisenhower...president who called out the troops to enforce desegration of schools.
5. Dwight Eisenhower...president who warned about the military industrial complex [later ignored by Kennedy]
6. George Bush I...signed the Americans with Disabilities Act protecting the disabled from discrimination and the Individuals with Disabilities.

These aren't just feel good legislative and executive acts. They are the acts of americans who happened to be republican. We are all weakended as a country and a party by bigots, racists, sexists and any other kind of "ist" you choose that separates us as a tactic against democracy.

You see, history shows that civil rights belong to all americans, not just a few. And seeking freedom isn't a ideal invented by liberals, it is a practice of republicans, including conservatives.

Tony nailed it
If you wait for the perfect candidate you will wait forever. To succeed in this, conservatives must be part of the process at the precinct level on up. Those who walk away from the republican party because of one nomination weren't real republicans anyway.

Women who terminate pregnancies are selfish. And what about the father? Does he not get a say in what happens with his child? How could one even think about killing this:

The conservative world view
After God destroyed the world with water, He said to himself in Genesis 8:21... The intent of man's heart is evil from his youth...The founders of our country and constitution knew this teaching. They were all Biblically literate and many were believers. They set up a wonderful system of checks and balances to protect us from our selfishness and self-centeredness. We are no longer educated. We know little of history and very few study the Bible. Can we maintain liberty? As the government takes in a greater and greater percentage of our incomes can we maintain liberty? As we surrender our responsibilities to the governmnent can we maintain liberty? I do believe the less money we citizens hold in our hands to make decisions with the less power we have. Every individual has to be holding the reins of power. It is too corruptive for an individual or a class of elites to rule over others. Conservatism will die in this country if we continue on this path. Will McCain help lead us off this path? I know you have joy but I do not place my hope in McCain or any other human being. Conservatism is better than liberalism because it is based on Truth and man will always be untrustworthy in this world.

Tony Snow: Bush Spokes hole
2 choices in November, only 1 is good? Give me a break! Tony Snow sold out to become a spokeshole for Bush, who has sold the convervative movement down the river. Bush lost both houses of Congress and has wrecked the U.S. budget. Now Tony Spokeshole wants us to get behind Juan McStain, phony and convenient "conservative". Nice try Tony!

Good to see him looking strong
Twenty years ago I spent a couple of days auditioning for Tony Snow at the Washington Times. To my regret I didn't get the job but I did see the same warm intelligent man on display here.

The McCain/Romney ticket
It's true that there hasn't been a lot of love lost between McCain and Romney.

It's also true that Romney gained a whole lot of national name recognition during the campaign and that he is far superior to McCain when it comes to experience with the economy and free enterprise, the inner workings of America.

It's interesting too that the CPAC straw vote came out for Romney even after he had suspended his campaign. It seems that the conservative heart of the GOP still pulses for Mitt Romney!

I believe strongly that if McCain would very soon announce Mitt Romney as his running mate that the GOP would be united and everyone would heartily pitch in to win the November election.

Response to Aniko
First of all, there are laws against murder.Second, haven't you looked closely at a sonogram and noticed the little fingers and toes? I think it's funny that when you want to keep it, it's a baby. But when you don't want it, it's just tissue. As for Tony Snow's speech, it was the most inspiring speech for conservatives since Reagan. If we conservatives want the things that Tony talked about, then we need to vote out the liberal republicans that work against us.

Re: Individual freedom
Tony, as always your speech was tremendously inspiring. I have to emphasize one thing though, for you, as well as all conservatives: a woman's right to choose whether to give birth to a child or not should be an indidvidual one, without the intrusion of government or any of its branches. I wish you all would stop calling an embryo as "the weakest among us" becasue an embryo is not among us. It is inside me and it is none of your business what I intend to do with it. If you don't want government to tell us how to raise our children (and I agree with that), government should tell me even less as to what to do do with MY pregnancy. NO ONE should have that kind of right over anyone else!
If, and when a fetus is viable outside the womb of a woman, then that pregnancy can become the business of the judicial system, becasue then it could be defined as "alive". Like it or not, before that stage, a pregnancy has only a parasitic exitence wehreby a woman has every right to decide if she wants to allow it to live or not.

Romney
Well Tony, I admire you greatly. Unfortunately the best man for the job is Mitt Romney as a true conservative!
Give a kick to the idiots in the higher tier of the Republican Party...only Romney has the vision for America that can accomplish the goals for which we believe.

You nail it every time. Keep hammering away and we will join you. Our accomplishments in Iraq are another jubject that should be repeated over and over. We should not leave those people to fend for themselves until it is safe to do so. The enlistments here and re-ups over there show that the military that is involved know it is worthwhile. Good job-----

Inspiring speech about conservatisim. Every thing that McCain is not. The Republican party is not what you just described.
