Gwen Ifill discussing her new book:

In what respect, Charlie?
Is always a very fair moderator.

The fact that she wrote a book about black politicians means nothing. It's not like her book was that ridiculous fluff piece 'Sarah' that Townhall's been desperately trying to give away. Ifill's book just examines the whole issue of race in politics, and discusses Republicans as well as Democrats.

I see that the wingers are trying hard to get out early and make Ifill an issue, so they can try to mitigate the disaster that is Sarah Palin.
Sherry writes: Wednesday, October, 01, 2008 9:58 AM
how sad that you are unaware
The shear fact that Ifill shows blatant bias represents an unbalanced debate. If you have ever been involved in any debate at all, you would know that this is breaking the first rule of the process. This is an issue which can be looked at both ways. Once again, democrats and left-wingers don't see how underhanded tactics denegrade our system. Why am I not surprised?

Replace Ifill with Charlie Rose
Seriously, this is about as biased as having Hugh Hewitt moderate a debate Mitt Romney was in. There is no way to be fair, you either swing one way or the other. When you have book sales on the line, it is an absolute conflict of interest.

And Gwen Ifill should be ashamed for not disqualifying herself. I absolutely question Ifill's motives for not raising the question and saying should she be the moditor for any presidential debate.
Joe writes: Wednesday, October, 01, 2008 10:45 AM
I suggested Rose because he is at PBS
But it could be someone at Fox too, which for some reason was completely excluded from these debates. Britt Hume or Megyn Kelly would be fine also. It just should not be Ifill.
Joe writes: Wednesday, October, 01, 2008 10:47 AM
Juan Williams would be better than Ifill
He openly supports Obama, but at least tries to be fair. Still, if you have a financial stake in the election, you should not be a moderator.

Wife was talking to the manager of a large box store yesterday, think it was Sam's Club. She works for consumer affairs and keeps her eye on everything even though she now works only on occasion.

She noticed that there was only two or three of the Sarah books in the racks, but several of the Obama books. She told the manager that the Sarah racks needed restocking. The manager said he couldn't keep the Sarah book in stock, mentioned that the Obama books were barely selling -- and had never sold well since they were initially stocked. I have no idea when they were first stocked.

TH might be giving 'em away, but they are selling like cheap gas in this area.

The fox guarding the henhouse as usual!
Why am I not surprised. The Obama vanpires are out for Sarahs blood over Troopergate and they don't care how they dig it up. Money passed under the table can buy a lie? There should be a hands off for all connected to the Obama shampaign. Now Gwen, an Obama promoter is going to be involved in the VP debate! Indeed, Juan W, a democrat, would be received better, as he has proven to be fair and wise. Still to avoid such doubt and a sense of unfairness, only a neutral, known non'biased interviewer should be allowed to give imput etc,. Where is the common sense and sense period?! Already I am angry.

I vote for Juan Williams too. He leans left, but he is honest and sincere in his beliefs. He needs his own show on MSNBC so as to level a field filled with leftist nuts, has-beens or phonies like Scarbrough.

One does not have to wonder what a world gone mad would look like -- they only have to watch MSNBC.

MSNBC did have good, unbiased news when Nora O'Donald(sp) was on -- think she is now out awaiting birth of a baby.

According to her own statement she is discussing only Democratic politicians. Barack Obama, Deval Patrick, Cory Booker, and Artur Davis, the four people on whom she said that the book focuses are all Democratic politicians.

McCain Campaign Approved Ifill
Do you guys realize the McCain campaign approved Ifill as the moderator?

Either the McCain campaign knew about this and thought she would be fair or they are massively incompetent. They approved her as moderator. There were plenty of other candidates. What is your theory: (a) she's fair or (b) the McCain campaign is massively incompetent?

OBAMA MEDIA BIAS ... NOW, DEBATE BIAS
OBAMA MEDIA BIAS ... NOW, OBAMA DEBATE BIAS !!!
The nation already is skeptical about the fairness and objectivity of the mainstream media regarding election coverage ... so, why in the world is Gwen Ifill the debate moderator, when she is writing a book about Obama ... especially since her book sales would increase if Obama/Biden win? The moderator in a debate ... especially one of this importance and magnitude ... should be seen as completely fair, objective and above reproach. This is a terrible choice, and could easily have been remedied by choosing from hundreds of other more objective potential moderators. I can imagine the outcry if Michelle Malkin, or Ann Coulter was chosen as the moderator for the first Vice Presidential debate between Sarah Palin and Joe Biden. FURTHERMORE ... Everyone knows that Roland Martin is in the tank for Obama ... and regarding his call for Palin to either 'put up, or shut up' ... for millions of Americans, we still feel that Obama never adequately explained why he chose to spend TWENTY YEARS, yes TWENTY YEARS, in Jeremiah Wright's anti-American, racist, black liberation church, which gave a life time achievement award to Louis Farrakhan, and Obama only quit the church due to public outrage and personal ambition.

Rush said BHO got foreign contributions
that are illegal. I just got in on the last little bit and don't know the whole story. Anyone else hear Rush today? If so, what is that all about?
