21 Taped Conversations? A Question for Criminal Defense Lawyers
Posted by: Hugh Hewitt at 6:48 AM
If the Chicago Sun Times' Michael Sneed is correct and there are 21 taped conversations between Rahm Emanuel and Rod Blagojevich, the trouble for the incoming WH chief of staff is just beginning.  Given Emanuel's deserved reputations for smarts and toughness, it is likely he wasn't approached by Blago on the pay-to-play conspiracy, but the prospect of blunt talk between the congressman and the governor about many subjects and people has to be unsettling to the president-elect and his most important aide..

Question for criminal defense lawyers: If these tapes exist, is Blagojevich entitled to them?  Please send your answers to hugh@hughhewitt.com.

If Blago's defense team is entitled to the tapes, the prospect of slow, selective leaking of parts of the exchanges is part of the calculation about political damage now underway at the office of the president-elect.  The president-elect would be best served by calling on the U.S. Attorney to release any and all tapes between any of his advisor or staff and Blagojevich and his staff.  Better to get all of the shop talk, however salty, out early and completely than drip by drip over the next few months.

-----Let the grown ups tackle real problems.-----

Says the leftwing snot nosed malcontent living in his mother’s basement who thinks "global warming" is a real problem. Are all liberals as stupid as you? [rhetorical question]

It's amusing how the arrested development liberal crowd always needs to convince themselves that they're grownups. They're the children who dress in mommy and daddy's clothes pretending to be grownups.

Keep it up!!!
Please, nutters, keep your very narrow (and narrow-minded) focus on the "birth certificate issue." Please.

Let the grown ups tackle real problems. It'll be much easier.

Thanks.

Remarkable accomplishment
In a way, Obama & his gang found tied to Blago & his scandal is a remarkable accomplishment: the incoming administration has become embroiled in a nasty political scandal, has become smeared by allegations of political corruption, fully a month and a half before it takes office.

Amazing is perhaps a better description of developing events involving Obama & his gang in crrupt Chicago politics.

oh look, Obama just picked ANOTHER
schicagonite to his cabinate. I am just glad he is able to pick all the "Good" folks of the Chicago Machine and is leaving all the bad seeds to run that state. Stay classy Chicago

Chicago Thug Politics
Nothing new here, the media stands behind their choice, now we have to live it. That scumbag Obama is in it just as deep as the others, however we will never here about it. We will never get the truth, and the investigations, if any , will be squashed before they begin. We know nothing about Obama, every lead, every question, every investigation about him has been quelled. What has happened to the laws we have in place? Is it because they wrote them, and kind find loopholes? Why do these politicians get away with these crimes?, if it was one of the regular people we would be locked up for life. Why is our government letting this stuff slide? This is not a transparent country, that we were promised by our leaders.

The Failed Obama Presidency
Gov. Blogojevich was under federal investigation before his recent election as Governor of Illinois. Both Rahm Emmanuel and Barack Obama were key figures in that election. Their relationship with Blagojevich is not just casual.

It has been learned that at a minimum, Emmanuel had conversations with members of Blagojevich's staff as to the person Barack Obama wanted to take his Senate seat. The name didn't just fall out of thin air; it had to be communicated to Emmanuel by Obama.

Obama will begin his presidency in the midst of scandal and hint of corruption. One could surmise that it can only go downhill from here.

Emmaneul is pro-Israel
December 17, 2008
I thought that one of the reasons for bringing in feisty Mr. Emmaneul is that he would mitigate
prevalent thoughts making their rounds that Obama was luke warm on Israel. Now Emmanuel appears to be a plausible out the door former this and that. So what happens to hiring another Israel point man?Obama is in so is a conceivable next in line hot or cold?

Birth Certificate
My problem with the birth certificate debate is, not that he may not be a citizen, but the fact that he refuses to release it. Where's the transparency he promised? If he can't be open and honest about this constitutional requirement, do the sheeple think he'll be honest about anything else he does??

We won't recognize Obama Presidency
I refuse to recognize Barack Hussein Obama as the President of the United States and am asking you to join my cause.

It seems thart nobody cares about the fact that Obama is not even eligible to become our U.S. President because he is not a Natural Born Citizen.

I suppose AlQueda and the Taliban can now just go out and get a lot of stupid white American girls pregnant, then send the kids to a madrassa to get brainwashed, then send the smartest and charasmatic ones to Harvard Law School, buy them into politics, buy off the left-wing media, then the most successful ones will run for President.

I mean really who gives a crap anyway right? The media doesn't.

Most Americans can't even recognize a pic of Joe Biden or name any of Obamas policies but whatever as long as he's charming right?

The Supreme Court stated recently that they won't even look at any of the numerous lawsuits against Obama.

Why is nobody marching onto the Whitehouse to protest right now. The truth must come out before it is too late.

Culpability
If Gov Blago solicited a bribe then Congressman Emmanuel was supposed to immediately report it to the controlling legal authority. All government employees must do this. So if Gov Blago did not solicit then this is all over. If Gov Blago did solicit and Congressman Emmanuel did not immediately go to the controlling legal authority but instead went to his boss or others they should all be in varying kinds of trouble. But since this is a dimlib Congress a dimlibstain media I'm sure nothing will happen.
