Obama Finance Chair Questions Palin's Mothering

Palin's opponents think it's perfectly acceptable to call her mothering ability into question. They think she shouldn't try to become VP because her teen daughter is pregnant and she has a child with Down's Syndrome.
One of Obama's Finance Chairs, Howard Gutman, suggested Mommy Palin's childre should disqualify her from becoming VP on Laura Ingraham's show.
"If you take a daughter who's got this emotional strife and subject her to the most intense scrutiny of the world at this time in her life, I think you've put your career above your family," Gutman said.
When called out on these comments by ABC's Jake Tapper, Gutman said, "The comments were largely taken out of context, although by the end, I plainly went too far, for which I apologize."
He knows he was wrong. You can't pled "out of context" and then admit you "plainly went too far" in the same sentence. This is how Obama's opponents are attacking Palin and even they know their strategy is heartless and demeaning.
If this is the standard the Left wants to go by, fine. Just let it be known they're putting a lot of other moms "who have it all" out of work, too.

...only extends to their own, to people who agree with them. Witness the racism and sexism that came out on their side during the primaries and the unconscionable attacks on Palin now, as well as the kind of attacks we've see on Clarence Thomas, Michael Steele, Ken Blackwell and Condaleeza Rice.
When it comes to racism and sexism in their own ranks, Democrats need to stop believing their own hype and take a good look at themselves. The attacks coming from their own have been appalling, so obviously out of line to anyone who can look at them honestly.
I thank leftists like WomenCount and various Hillary Clinton supporters who have been honest and courageous enough to call out sexism within their own party. To the rest I say this: if you want to be taken seriously when you say you are the party for equality, take a good look at yourselves and stop it. If you want to lose an election and completely forfeit the cause of equality between women and men, keep it up. |
|
I am a single mom of 5 and work full time in a high powered job and raise my kids. And when my family situation presented challenges, I changed my focus from work to my family. Can you honestly say that if your own 17 year old daughter was pregnant you would flaunt her on stage before millions of people with her boyfriend and then leave her for 2 months to be on the campaign trail? Let's not even talk about leaving a 4 month old of any nature, let alone a special needs child. There is some judgement lacking here. When we take on the role of a mother, part of that role is MOTHERING.
Palin delivered a fantastic speech - but so could many news anchors (she was a TV sports reporter at one time). This does not a VP make. Do you really want a VP who lies from the outset? The jet she sold was sold at a loss and not on Ebay (yes it was listed there). She hired lobbyists for her small town as mayor and took earmarks. She is against teaching kids about birth control - and we can all see the result of that stance. Why is it OK for her child to be pregnant but an outrage if it is Jamie Lynn Spears? Put on your thinking caps and keep the same standards for all! What has happened to the moral right? |
|
For eight years we have had to put up with the liberal lies and insults from those of your ilk simply because the dems cheated in 2000 and still couldn't win. The nastiness and hate that the left has imposed on this country are inexcusable. It is you and the other liberals who are the fakes. Fake Americans!
You just can't stand that Sarah Palin is a real American. |
|
Off limits?
She line-itemed vetoed funding for a teenage pregnancy prevention program.
Then she let her daughter run around with a boy whose "Face Book" page is disgusting, vile and dangerous.
Yeah....she ain't "Mother of the Year." |
|
Obama has tried to stay above it all. I'll give him credit for that. He did tell Clinton "sweetie, get over it", and did start the lie of omission by calling Palin a "small town mayor". But for the most part he's been gentlemanly.
But I was not attacking Obama. I was attacking his supporters, who have been the worst sort of rabid partisans I've ever seen in an election. Attacking Palin for being a "bad mother" is bad enough. Making stuff up about who Trig Palin's real mother or real father are are beyond the pale, and then demanding that someone prove these charges false is so laughable. It's another reason to not vote for Obama, because I'd never want to be like his supporters. |
|
You sound jealous of Gov. Palin. I agree with you on the point that Moms (the sane ones) can do anything. I've seen many Moms, single or married, do incredible work for schools, boy/girl scout troops, the list goes on. And that's great. I am personally very proud of the volunteer work I've done for our youth, while also raising children. Why can't a woman aspire to one of the highest power jobs in the nation? Why is it okay for a woman to head the PTA, but not the nation?
Sarah Palin has her husband Todd to cover her back, and I bet he's pretty darned protective. Most Moms aren't qualified to be VP, but this one sure is.
Go Sarah!

Obama now has spent almost 1 billion cash, free media, taxpayer money:
to slash, trash, bash, the USA to the WORLD
NOW to slander, slash, trash, bash the Palin family:
Sent his surrogates to Silence Michelle Malkin:
HE HAS NO "SOLUTIONS" !!
must research his PUBLIC ALLIES chicago chapter: see what the MEDIA is hiding from the voters !
must research his Annenberg Project
Must research his relationship with WILLIAM AYERS who called for children to kill their parents:
Media is Obama's sleaze merchant |
|
Palin put the state private jet on EBAY to save the taxpayers millions Palin cut the citizens into the pipeline deal Palin cut taxes Palin fired all of the crooks
Obama bought the biggest private jet he could get: removed the flag:: His "O" FORCE ONE engraved the leather executive chair with President Obama, put his name on the Presidential seal
1992 USED taxpayer funds for his PUBLIC Allies anarchist group: do your reasearch:::: the MEDIA is hiding this from thevoters:
Annenberg project: a bust, wasted 150 million taxpayer funds in under the table deals to his criminal friends and circle of influence
MENTOR:::: William AYERS who called for children to kill their parents:
and the list goes on and on and on
:::::::::: SEE: PUBLIC ALLIES:::: CHICAGO
Chilling: Then Put the hit on Michelle Malkin for her discoveries of his anarchist activities turned his sleaze merchants on the Palin family |

Impeachbush, Karl Rove is a genius, because you still have his name in your mouth. His plan set up Bush twice in office. The second time he got more popular votes than BJ Clinton. Karl Rove is that dude. Next, your ilk will have Palin elected. This will be done WITHOUT any help from Rove! Based on your sides outrageous comments about her motherhood, you guys are pissing off EVERY WOMAN THAT HAS CHILDREN! The worst thing in the world is a woman scorned. Most of Sen Clinton's votes WILL GO TO McCain/PALIN. Woman have long memories. Lastly, Biden will lose in the debates because Obama chose the WORST VP candidate. Biden great accomplishment is....his hearings with Justice Thomas. He would have been better off picking Burt from Sesame Street. Obama showed his hand by choosing a true Racist as a VP. in summary, keep flappin' those lib lips, get ready for the 1st female VP. |
|
You have some great points, but just how are these idiots going to trash the McCain/Palin ticket? As for Gov. Palin, there's nothing to slash, trash, or bash. Everything has been answered, and beautifully.
Happy researching. |
|
She raised a son who has volunteered to go risk his life to rebuild Iraq. That's bad mothering? Ok one kid made a stupid mistake. We all make mistakes. She made a really, really stupid mistake. The fact that she's prepared to fact the consequences shows good character.

First, Obamacans stop the misleading 'five children' spin! Palins 17 yr old Bristol will be married in the near future and her son on his way overseas! So that leaves three. One of those is old enough to help with Saras baby, along with the father, Nanny and Grandparents! Hillary had to put up with and deal with the anti-women media,Pundits etc., but I doubt the beguiled duped Obama worshipers, along with the biased media can get away with it with Lady Sara! Of course the VP etc., should be vetted by press and otherwise, so why haven't they held their Savior Obama accountable?. We can thank one source Fox news and the Rep.,Radio talk shows for telling it like it is! They challenge and report on the evasive, false pretender Obama with fair and accurate investigation and news coverage; unlike the far leftist and unfair Dems,. Ex Democrat

----Palin delivered a fantastic speech - but so could many news anchors (she was a TV sports reporter at one time). This does not a VP make.----
It's not surprising you intellectual pygmies would gloss over the fact she was a former mayor and current governor. |

From that bastion of conservative thought--Anderson Cooper's 360:
Drew Griffin CNN Investigative Reporter
Mike Wooten says he has been offered $30,000 to tell his story to a tabloid. The Obama campaign has reached out to the head of his union. And he no longer answers any phone number he doesn’t recognize for fear it is another pesky reporter who wants his story.
The story is how he married in, then divorced out of Alaska’s first family. The trooper finds his life at the center of the one and only potential scandal I can find concerning Gov. Sarah Palin.
The scandalous allegation is the governor used her power to try and get her sister’s ex fired. When that didn’t work, its alleged Gov. Palin fired the public safety commissioner.
Here’s the problem for me, trooper Mike Wooten sat down in an exclusive interview and rattled off a disturbing number of “mistakes” he’s made in his career. He admits tasering his stepson, illegally killing a moose and admits to multiple reprimands in his file. A state trooper investigation even found credible evidence he was drinking in his patrol car.
http://ac360.blogs.cnn.com/2008/09/05/exclusive-the-trooper -behind-trooper-gate/#more-8006
So it is a scandal to call for the firing of a Trooper who is hunting illegally while on duty, tasering his 11 year old step son, and drinking while on duty? It is even too much for Anderson Cooper to admit.

Paulson/Bernanke Bailout of Freddie and Fannie. Attacks on Palin are like "throwing tennis balls and tanks" as HH says.
All the Liberal blogs are all over the Bailout Issue and we're ignoring it. They are saying it's the Repubs bailing out Wall Street AGAIN.
We are going to kill the momentum they've created thus far if McCain/Palin don't come out on the right side of this dispicable bailout of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae.
This bailout is a fraud designed to keep the current house of cards standing. Taxpayers are already on the hook for GSE debt, and now will become equity holders in unstable, flawed institutions. Where is the reform? Where is the outrage? John McCain, if you meant any of your speech when accepting the Republican nomination, you need to stand up right here and now and put a stop to this crap, making clear that you will NOT permit it under your administration and will "unwind" anything that encumbers the taxpayer with this garbage paper prior to your taking office, assuming you win.
This and the econ are the issues for Nov. Not The War, not national security, not health care or energy independence.
None of this matters if our economy and government funding mechanisms are damaged or destroyed due to the irresponsible and outrageous bailing out of TWO GIANT HEDGE FUNDS that happen to be called "Fannie Mae" and "Freddie Mac", and THE PRESENT GOVERNMENT just took FIVE TRILLION DOLLARS onto its balance sheet!
Well what the HELL are you doing then sitting on your butt this weekend sirs, while UNELECTED Ben Bernanke and Hank Paulson TAKE FIVE TRILLION DOLLARS WE DON'T HAVE, FIVE TIMES THE AMOUNT WE HAVE SPENT IN TOTAL ON THE IRAQ WAR, AND BLOW IT ON BAILING OUT TWO GIGANTIC HEDGE FUNDS AND THEIR "INVESTORS"? JMc needs to GET OUT IN FRONT OF THIS ISSUE NOW IF HE WANTS AMERICAN'S VOTES!

A list of books Sarah Palin supposedly asked to be banned from the library is circulating on the internet. The first problem with the list is that it is a nearly perfect copy-and-paste of the "List of Books that have been banned in America". The second problem is a death blow to the report's veracity: list includes books from the Harry Potter series. Somehow in 1996 Sarah Palin asked for books to be banned THAT HAD NOT YET BEEN PUBLISHED!
What's worse is that this report has appeared on Obama's official campaign website:
http://my.barackobama.com/page/community/post/markbrickman/ gG5rK5/commentary
With Obama, the more things "change", the more things stay the same. |

Attack a female politician for having a career in public life and a family at the same time.
Maybe Gov. Palin should have resigned her position as Alaska's governor too.
We might as well deputize these Obama surrogates as McCain/Palin campaign buddies. They're mowing down their own candidates appeal to millions of citizens each time they rail out on Sarah Palin.
Imagine every Registered Nurse that tends to the ill while her own family goes about their life. Is that RN a maternal failure? What about every nurse that works while pregnant till the last week before her due date? Is that nurse putting her career before her impending child's health?
What about female Judges, female lawyers, female meteorologists, female paramedics, and female dispatchers ... call the female roll.
Gov. Palin's addition to this race has unhinged the lunatic fringe in the radical Sen. Obama's campaign.
Welcome loons.
|
|
The media pundits and campaign officials know this. They plant little "snippets" out there and a citizen will hear a little part of it and believe it - cause they heard it somewhere. That is what they were hoping when they said it - and that is why they will now go back and "apologize" as if that will make a difference and it will be corrected. It won't - it is out there and now has a life of it's own!
The Flim Flam Obamaman and his ilk are afraid - afraid of the newly created ticket of President Elect McCain and Vice President Elect Palin. They know this is a strong team - a winning team!
That is why the Flim Flam Obamaman finally agreed to go on Bill O'Reilly. He knows his audience is not the left - he is trying to reach out in desperation to the right! Won't work! Can't work! His fate is sealed...the Democrats will lose yet another Presidential election and it will be the fault of the leadership of the Democratic party for elevating a man with anti-American friends and no experience to the highest office in our land...Commander and Chief of our Armed Services...America it will not happen! This man is totally unqualified to be the President of these United States! |

THE BIASED, DUPED OBAMACANS BELIEVE THE FICTION, NOT THE FACTS. JUST PROVES WEAK MINDED PEOPLE BELIEVE WHAT THEY WANT TO, NOT THE REALITY! JUST ASK CLINTON AND REVIEW THE TAPED/FILMED DATA, HILLARY HAD TO DEAL WITH OBAMAS DEMEANING REMARKS BUT 'O' MOSTLY HAD HIS BEGUILED GROUPIES DO THE DIRTY WORK! THE ANTI-WOMEN PUNDITS, FAR LEFTIST, BIAS MEDIA ETC., ALL DISRESPECTED HILL, WHILE FAILING TO VETT THEIR CHOSEN ONE! NOTHING NEW EXCEPT THIS TIME THE SEXIST ETC., AREN'T GOING TO GET AWAY WITH IT. SARA DOESN'T HAVE TO ROLL OVER AND PLAY DEAD LIKE THE DEMS., DEMANDED AND EXPECTED CLINTON TO DO, SO THER ROOKIE COULD WIN. HOW SMART WAS THAT? BET THEY HAVE BUYERS REMORSE LATELY, HA! SHE WAS THE ONE TO BEAT MCCAIN. EX DEMOCRAT FOR MANY REASONS BUT MAINLY BECAUSE OF THE WAY THE GOOD SENATOR 'HILL' WAS MISTREATED! GO LADY SARA |
|
|
If the gullible, naive misinformed Obamacans don't do their homework and keep believing the unfounded false Democratic spin, the teflon Rookie could win again by default. Fair, reasonable minds will not elect Obama, the most liberal, inexperienced, 'lacking' in discretion and common sense wanna-be President ever nominated! Obamas and his gung ho groupies are digging deep and coming up short, to stop Lady Sara; they throw manufactured mud, hoping some will stick! Devious Obama doesn't care how he wins, either by hook or crook! Smoke and mirrors by the slick talking Rookie, the only way he can win. He has no real or worthy Record to be the leader of the free world! Ex Democrat |
|
|
Wooten's actions are secondary. The primary issue is whether Palin, and her forces, applied pressure to Monegan and later lied about it. |
|
|
|
|
I heard it was Rush Limbaugh, radio talk host that called Chelsea ugly?? |
|
How about some answers?
How can the McCain campaign complain about Obama's lack of experience and then put Palin up for VP with a 72 year old man who has had cancer 4 times? Palin has been mayor, and left that town in enormous debt. As governor, she has put herself under investigation for abuse of power.
As for Palin's family and family values being under attack... If you advocate abstinence-only sex education and no choice but to carry to term a baby even if you are raped or a victim of incest, and if you slashed funding for teen mothers in the state you govern, how are you not out of your mind if you think for one second that putting your pregnant teenaged daughter in front of the cameras is not going to cause major controversy?
And how about a plan? How about some specific policies? If you stand in front of the cameras and bash your opponents, shouldn't you offer some kind of plan for your own administration?
I don't know, but she seems like just another Republican hypocrite to me. |
|
|
Hazel youre a programed RobitObama worshipper! You take the prize for being a far out of it mindless duped Obamacan! Your Supermans slick gift of gab has beguiled and captured you. Free thinker you aren't Brainwashed you are! You're an embarrassment to even the most naive ignorant Obamas, no doubt! Sad, grow up or get off the sauce! Your unrealistic spin takes the cake! Good for a laugh! |
|
I find it kind of odd that on a blog about personal attacks, you think it's OK to respond to a political opinion by personally attacking the one who posted it.
Another Republican hypocrite? |
|
|
OK, I'm game. Let's hear the specific policies of Joe Biden. |
|
Wooten admits to Anderson Cooper's 360 that he shot a moose illegally while on duty, tasered an 11 year old boy, and there is evidence he was also drinking on duty...and you are claiming Governor Palin abused her power in supporting his firing?
This is a non scandal. |
|
Here is an excerpt from Joe Biden's acceptance speech; in my opinion, it is more specific and more about positive change than anything Sarah Palin had to say:
Barack Obama will reform our tax code. He'll cut taxes for 95 percent of the American people who draw a paycheck. That's the change we need.
Barack Obama will transform our economy by making alternative energy a genuine national priority, creating 5 million new jobs and finally freeing us from the grip of foreign oil. That's the change we need.
Barack Obama knows that any country that out-teaches us today will out-compete us tomorrow. He'll invest in the next generation of teachers. He'll make college more affordable. That's the change we need.
Barack Obama will bring down health care costs by $2,500 for the typical family, and, at long last, deliver affordable, accessible health care for all Americans. That's the change we need.
Barack Obama will put more cops on the streets, put the "security" back in Social Security and never give up until we achieve equal pay for women. That's the change we need. |
|
|
Jen, if she can't stand the heat then she better get out of the Reps.,kitchen. She was over the line, either Hazels a looney tunes are crafty like fox Obama! I was disgusted. Feel free to do what the Dems., are so good at and thats to blame the victim! Lady Sara deserves better then that nonsense and garbage and notice will be served accordingly. If you dish it out you better be able to take it! Ex Democrat |
|
Oh, and on national security, here is what Joe Biden had to say:
I've been on the ground in Georgia, Iraq, Pakistan and Afghanistan, and I can tell you in no uncertain terms: this administration's policy has been an abject failure. America cannot afford four more years of this...
The fact is, al-Qaida and the Taliban — the people who actually attacked us on 9/11 — have regrouped in those mountains between Afghanistan and Pakistan and are plotting new attacks. And the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff echoed Barack's call for more troops.
John McCain was wrong. Barack Obama was right.
Should we trust John McCain's judgment when he rejected talking with Iran and then asked: What is there to talk about? Or Barack Obama, who said we must talk and make it clear to Iran that its conduct must change.
Now, after seven years of denial, even the Bush administration recognizes that we should talk to Iran, because that's the best way to advance our security.
Again, John McCain was wrong. Barack Obama was right.
Should we trust John McCain's judgment when he says there can be no timelines to draw down our troops from Iraq — that we must stay indefinitely? Or should we listen to Barack Obama, who says shift responsibility to the Iraqis and set a time to bring our combat troops home?
Now, after six long years, the Bush administration and the Iraqi government are on the verge of setting a date to bring our troops home.
John McCain was wrong. Barack Obama was right.
Again and again, on the most important national security issues of our time, John McCain was wrong, and Barack Obama was proven right.
|
|
|
Barack Obama will...Barack Obama will...Wow that Joe Biden is so full of substance and has such great ideas. Sarah Palin said a lot about John McCain as well, but you apparently were too incensed that she dared to challenge The One on his record to notice. |
|
ZOMG! Joe Biden attacked John McCain! How dare he! Who does he think he is, the opposing Vice-Presidential nominee!?
(That was fun to say, I'll admit. As Obama likes to say, "silly season".) |
|
She didn't challenge Barack Obama on his record. She insulted those who work in the community to do what they can to better the country.
I guess my thoughts relative to Mrs. Palin were focused more on the special needs children comment she made. I have a special needs child; my daughter has autism.
Sarah Palin said we parents of children would have an advocate in the White House if she and John McCain were elected. But she never said one word about how. How would she and John McCain make America "a more hospitable place" for children with special needs?
She advocates teaching only creationism in schools. She advocates teaching abstinence-only sex education. What exactly does she advocate for teaching children with autism?
She and John McCain are all about vouchers and private schools. What is she willing to do for our public schools? What is she willing to do for the families with autistic children who are struggling financially because most health insurance specifically excludes autism? She's not for financing health coverage for those who can't afford it, is she?
So, what are these words, "advocate in the White House" supposed to mean? |
|
Hazel challenged Sarah Palin's record and she challenged the idea that Sarah Palin's family is both "out of bounds" and to be displayed for political gain. Granted she didn't make her case in the most polite of terms, but that's all she did.
You implied that Hazel was either immature or a drunk.
See, there's a difference between having a political discussion with differing opinions and making personal attacks.
|
|
|
Jen, you're only half right, the Obamacans, in their denial, forget their Rookie is very in-experienced! Think about it, what is more important to start with having an 'experienced' President or VP? If something happens to McCain, Lady Sara can pick her a strong foreign policy VP, same as the inexperienced Obama had too! |
|
"She advocates teaching only creationism in schools."
Incorrect. While she apparently believes in creationism in some form (which most people would consider pretty mainstream) she has never advocated making it part of the school curriculum, not even alongside evolution.
"She advocates teaching abstinence-only sex education."
Also false. She supports abstinence education, but also supports teaching about condom use. Daughter Bristol also never received "abstinence-only" sex education in school.
Since you are obviously willing to either lie or believe anything negative written about Governor Palin and pass it on, I'll consider this debate over.
I do, however, hope you and your daughter are doing well. A prayer was just said for you both. |
|
|
|
Don't forget that Obama was the one minimizing her role as mayor of a small town.
She just made a comparison, and pointed out that a mayor of a small town has more responsibility than a community organizer.
Barack set himself up for that criticism and she handled the matter quite deftly. |
|
"We don't go after people's families; we don't get them involved in the politics. It's not appropriate, and it's not relevant. Our people were not involved in any way in this, and they will not be. And if I ever thought that there was somebody in my campaign that was involved in something like that, they'd be fired." ~ Sen. Barack Obama 9/02/2008
Still waiting... |
|
"Barack Obama will reform our tax code. He'll cut taxes for 95 percent of the American people who draw a paycheck. That's the change we need."
...and then guess what the 5% who pay those 95% are going to do???? You got it...give them an even bigger tax cut by firing them, 'cause they can't afford to pay them anymore.
I am a small business owner with 8 employees. Times are getting tougher. Raise my taxes 10% and one of them goes, it's that simple!
Next thing you got yourself a "real" recession (not the fake one that's been peddled by the MSM for the last 12 months).
That's change we DON'T need thanks. |
|
When politicians use their kids as political props, and then say that no one can criticize them for doing it because it is 'attacking her family.'
Questioning her judgment and sense of responsibility as a mother is not attacking her family. This is a woman who hauls a 4 month old baby up on a stage (a Down Syndrome baby; they are even more prone to infection than unchallenged babies, though I wouldn't dream of doing that to my healthy five-month old) at 10 o'clock at night. Was this for Trig's benefit? For her youngest daughter, yes, staying up late and getting to go on stage is a great experience and a wonderful memory. But for the baby? She was treating him like a prop, it was not for his own good, it was for her own, and that is extremely distasteful.
And I should be able to say so. Shoot, scumbags like Jerome Corsi want to hold Obama responsible for the actions of his father who he barely knew. But Palin's self-centered and irresponsible actions as a mother (and as everything else) we aren't supposed to be able to talk about? |
|
"The fact is, al-Qaida and the Taliban — the people who actually attacked us on 9/11 — have regrouped in those mountains between Afghanistan and Pakistan and are plotting new attacks."
Joe, go get a map. There are no mountains "between" Afghanistan and Pakistan. They have regrouped in Pakistan, a soveriegn nation which doesn't seem to be quite cutting it in the "stamping out terrorists" department. We have greatly stepped up cross border attacks recently (5 last week, 13 this year against only 10 in the previous 2 years combined) and now the Pakistani military is threatening retaliation.
What do you want to do with all those troops Joe, invade Pakistan? Where have I heard that stupid idea before?
And now the Pakistanis have shut the Nato supply route down how are you going to supply them all Joe?
Now you have finally grasped that the Iraq surge worked it doesn't mean you just try the same thing in the mountains of PAKISTAN. It's a bit more complicated than that. Ask a guy who knows a little about military matters like, oh, I dunno, John McCain maybe. He'll help you out.
|
|
...so it's ok for the youngest girl to be up on stage with the rest of the family but not the baby? So what was she supposed to do with the baby, put him in "government/secret service" care for the night? Or should she have kept him in the care of his own family?
Neglect the baby for the evening or use him as a prop? Can't win in your world can she? |
|
She's had people to watch her children while jaunting off to conventions in the past. And she wouldn't even be going 100s of miles away from him, like she's accustomed to doing with her children.
Mothers should protect their children. They should do what is in their children's best interest. Having him out in such a public, germy place, and then bringing him up onto a stage with all the bright lights and noise when he should be sleeping, is NOT putting his interests first. As I said, I would never dream of doing that to my baby.
It is not neglecting a child to leave them for an evening with a trusted friend or family member. |
|
|
Not only did Mr. Gutman chastise Mrs. Palin for her mothering skills but then went on to hold up former Virginia governor Mark Warner for forsaking a presidential run for the sake of his family. So, by that standard, does that mean http://daddypundit.blogspot.com/2008/09/setting-record-str aight.html Mr. Warner should abandon his Senate campaign, too? We could only hope. |
|
"It is not neglecting a child to leave them for an evening with a trusted friend or family member."
Neither is leaving the child with it's father and family while she goes to work each day no matter what her job is. Or is there a glass ceiling for mothers that doesn't apply to childless women? Maybe she's doing it to make the country a better place for her child to grow up in. Maybe she sees a bigger picture than you do. Maybe she's prepared to sacrifice a little for the greater good and she doesn't see her baby as some kind of punishment.
|
|
"Neither is leaving the child with it's father and family while she goes to work each day no matter what her job is."
When did I say it was? I sometimes leave my babies with their father or grandmother when I need to work. But as most people on this site do, you created a strawman--I was specifically talking about dragging a tiny baby who is in more danger of infection than most into a huge arena, and bringing him up on stage where there are bright lights and lots of noise (something very few babies like) at a time when he should have been in bed.
THAT is using a baby as a political prop. That was Palin doing what was best for HER, not her baby.
Also, though, I do wonder who does stay at home and watch their kids...the state capital is in Juneau, a 600 mile plane ride from anywhere, the kids live in Wasilla and their dad works on the North Slope. Who is watching their kids? |

Now we know why Hillary didnt get the nomintion, because of what we hear with this ridiculous attacks on Governor Palin, no wonder why, is this how the Democrates think? that a woman cant do the job, she should be at home with the kids, I think Hillary should not help Obama, because of the way Obama treated Hillary and Geraldine during the campaign trail, Hillary Clinton and Geraldine Ferroro who I like very much, should not support Obama, he called her a racist which she is not, President Clinton should not help Obama because he was called a racist during the campaign trail, which he is not, these are disgusting comments and they will backfire, it doesnt matter if they help him now because we know what Obama thinks and how he thinks. |

I heard Gutman the other day and talk about a voice that is shrill, he is the type that we used to put a cork in his mouth because we couldn't stand the lying and other bullchit. Obama which rock do you find find your campagin people. I think the first test of these Momo is to see how big of a lie they can spin, and then they spin it off by saying its politics, and they want my vote lol |

I have to laugh at those who are judging Palin harshly. I cannot help but think they are being disingeneous, yet they think they are so clever. The double standard is breath-taking.
I was especially appalled by Sallee's post. She seems to be saying that Palin should hide her daughter and be ashamed of her. Sarah Palin is standing behind her daughter, she is loving her, she is supporting her. What is your problem with that? You expect Palin to be some kind of martyr (as apparently you try to be). The smart, strong women I know don't play that game.
Your indignation is hilarious. Doesn't Barak Obama have two young children? What say you about that? Your hypocrisy is ridiculous, and it is clear to anyone who can read. |

I don't pretend to be a military strategist or expert on how to navigate the geography of the middle east for the benefit of attacking and capturing those who attacked us on 9/11.
However, Joe Biden and Barack Obama seem to have much more specific and practical plans for our military than John "I'll follow him to the gates of hell" McCain. |

You never addressed my comment to you. Hazel challenged Palin's record and you called her either immature or a drunk. How does that not smack of Republican hypocrisy? Personal attacks are only allowed if you make them against Democrats? WTF? |

Hey, thanks for the prayer.
A couple of things: 1. It is NOT mainstream and therefore OK to teach creationism in public schools. That would be the state endorsing a religious point of view, and that would be problematic on a Constitutional level. 2. I am not a liar, just reporting what I read and hear. But even if I'm wrong about the abstinence only education, that still doesn't answer my question: What does she mean when she says we parents of children with special needs would have an advocate in the White House? What would she and John McCain do? |
