Did The White House Pressure the Judge?
Posted by: Carol Platt Liebau at 12:39 PM
Manny Lopez, a blogger for the Detroit News, raises the question of whether The White House pressured the Chrylser bankruptcy judge to rule in order to have a "quick and speedy" bankruptcy for the car company.

There is so much we might be learning if the national media weren't so busy courting Obama and laughing at Robert Gibbs' jokes.

A couple of responses-to fellow conserva
First for DanNV:
"It is time to smack Obama down. We can achieve it first by taking away the Dem majority and then voting the Marxist out of office in 2012. "

I'd agree except: Where is there anyone in the republican leadership standing up up and representing us? Tom Ridge?. Colin Powell? Or the latest numbnut- Cornyn? There is zero possibility of retaking either house or even making significant gains when virtually every elected republican is telling the largest single block of voters in the Republican party to shut up. The days when I will hold my nose and vote for these scum is OVER.

Chicago Strong Arm Politics
Obama was trained to play Step-N-Fetch-it for the Leftist Thugs from Chicago. He does what his owners like Soros and Rathke want. The White House used threats to bully the Bond holders at Chrysler and now a sitting Judge in the GM deal.
The pay off is to his bankers at the UAW.
No legit Bakruptcy court in America would cheat the legal debt holders in these cases the way the Obama administration has.
If we had an honest, independent Media in America there might have been some objection but all we have are the obedient lap dogs of the Left at the Times and MSDNC.
No, this will end very badly indeed.
The future the Left is leaving my children will be very bleak.

Expect the judge involved to be appointed to a higher court within three years.

Enhanced Persuasion I think......
Every administration is known to use 'enhanced interrogation or persuasion' as a means to an end that the sitting president deems necessary for the american people.

If conservatives are having trouble figuring it out, we can explain it as follows;
The president used 'enhanced persuasion' to get the judge to rule according to the plan that was going to keep the american economy stable. If the president had not used these 'enhanced persuasion' tactics, Crystler would have suffered a bigger loss with the possibility of complete destruction.

Crystler is to Obama what waterboarding was to Bush. Which means, america's interests were put above profit, and 'humanitarian treatment', respectively.
DanNV writes: Monday, June, 01, 2009 6:14 PM
Isn't there a law
against jury tampering? The left wants to prosecute members of the Bush administration just because he exercised his right to fire U.S. Attorneys and the left was in a snarky snit.

Barack Obama calls a judge in the wee hours of the morning and presto, favorable ruling. It is time to smack Obama down. We can achieve it first by taking away the Dem majority and then voting the Marxist out of office in 2012.

Is in November 2010 yet?

well, exactly, Peacefrog
Bushies and Reaganistas kept us on that oil teet, fool. That's the point behind GMs miserable failures. The electric car COULD'VE saved them, but we all know what happened to that little innovative gem - and why the oil sleazes of the Bush/Reagan/Cheney persuasion kept it from wiping out oil dependency. Man, you guys are truly stooooopid.

Don't you get it? Bush failed because he didn't take over the company FIRST.

The newspapers are dying, the unionized car companies are dying, the states and cities run by Democrats are dying,...

And in the meantime, conservatives are connecting in ways that they never have before. Remarkable considering there are no elections for another year-and-a-half.

You are so right...
Remember, that under totalitarianism, the Obama 'administration'. the people at the top NEVER have to put up with the laws that they impose on the rest of society.
Remember: House members, Senators (era of the Statesmen are long over), shoot: even the President of the United States are all supposed to serve: WE THE PEOPLE. Not themselves.
Look at the Wednesday cocktail and other expensive entertainment... the Kobe beef flown in on a regular basis... the Executive Chefs that they fly from place to place on the Obama-whimsey... this is looking more and more like Royalty not presidency.
Obama is NO Kennedy... he is a usurper, probably even an Illegal from Kenya!

Bush administration (yes, Reagan too)
Are behind GMs failures. They had chance after chance to help this company become more viable and to ensure success - instead the Rethugs chose to turn their back on the inevitable and keep sucking on the oil teet. By the way, what DID happen to the electric car? What a clusterfubar.

Yes, Ma'am, I noted your answer.

I thought one of us was confused, but wasn't certain which one.

Several sailors around here who like to use the prefix "Sea" to a handle. Going to sea was what we used to do -- and still do in some cases.

Thank you for the response.

THE LOONEY IS BACK
lonny... the conservatives hop and pray that the Socialist Party Values that BHO is bringing to bear on our once great country HAS TO FAIL!
BHO is telling car companies who will and will not head the company; how much they will and will not make in pay; telling the once great Wall and Broad what to do; wants to make healthcare universal like Canada which is a joke; taking over banking industry; getting rid of the free market; sucking up to every dictator Obama meets; talking down the USA; how un American and traitor like this president is.
Who in his and or her right mind would want that?
ARe you one of the 'wet ones'?? Bush would have been more of a man had he NOT signed in the first so called stimulus bill; he had bad advice.
Yes, the country had been better off had GM (now Government Motors) and Chrysler gone bankrupt. Not being pushed by the likes of Obama; little, little man. Remember what was said: "Let's not let a catastrophe go to waste."
And the little left has only one kind of weapon on their side: hate, divisiveness, class warfare, youth vs old, have against have-nots...

Remember all: the Democrats have been saying this for years and now under Obama it is true...

we now have "The worst economy since the Great Depression."
You, and you know who you are, have brought this all on yourselves. It took over 10 years since FDR death for the country to really begin to come back. Now, it will probably be more than 20!
Say hello to hyper-inflation similar to that of Zimbabwe!
James writes: Monday, June, 01, 2009 2:43 PM
O lonny
When you are so far to the left that liberal Republicans appear to you to be the far right, you are indeed in love with Marxism. These Neomarxists are now revelling in their central power and their unquenchable thirst for greater power...perhaps total power. The Constitution- irrelevant.

Blah...
"Everyone is all wet over BHO. Like a teenager with a crush on a boy that treats her like Cr@p."

Well, if you believe that, (and I think they do it for more than Obama. They unquestioningly passed on whatever the Bush (and Clinton) white houses put out as well with nary a skeptical look), then it would make sense for someone critical of the establishment journalists who has a journalistic forum to do the leg work and bring in cited sources, rather than just print what are, as of now, suspicions and baseless allegations.

And, yes, I full expect many cries of "No one could have known" or "No one could have predicted" to refrain from all quarters of the establishment should things not go well. They've been singing the same refrain since Iraq and few people have called them on their BS.

Chessmaster?
Hardly that sharp a mind. Don't confuse being clever with being intelligent. Putting FIAT in charge is hardly a move that will bring about checkmate. I give it 4-5 years before the Italians run off with our $7b saying we cannot fix it. Oh yeah, lets not forget that Qaddifi owns 3% of Fiat, so that makes him part owner of Chrysler! Brilliant!

Yes, GM and Chrysler should have gone into bankruptcy last year.

Be honest loony, do you or will you drive either car brand? Or are you the elitist type that drives a fancy LA car? You put your money back in the market Loony. Talk to me in September when the third bottom falls out.

Truly amazing
how little the drooling drones understand the pit the community organizer is digging! When it becomes the Marianas Trench, they'll chime in with "oh gosh, I didn't know!" Now this fool is going to "save" GM, of course the Union will do very well and their munificence will continue only, now, the taxpayers will be paying the tab! The drooling drones will clap and have a group hug over the brilliance of the community organizer, perhaps this will change next tax year.

Is the problem Dread. Everyone is all wet over BHO. Like a teenager with a crush on a boy that treats her like Cr@p.

When the MSM can grow some balls again we can get back to the reason the founding fathers gave them freedom; To keep EVERYONE in check.

but lets check with ElRushbo on that first.

Its kinda drizzly here this morning. I am gonna check with ElRushbo on that.

I think I may have a turkey sandwich for lunch. I wonder what ElRushbo thinks?

Great...
If you want to make an actual point, you could ask the judge if there was any pressure, or you could ask some of his clerks, or you could talk to some WH aides or staffers.

Otherwise, all you're doing is making allegations without proof.

Go get some proof. You know, be an actual journalist, and not one of the legions of sad sorry Washington sycophants.

You're always complaining about the ineptitude of the media, now's your chance to not only show them up, but get Obama in a constitutionally dubious move (if you can find some proof).
NOTW writes: Monday, June, 01, 2009 12:51 PM
deadfish...
No...BO promised to us all to bring a new kind of politics to the WH. He would never do such a thing like sending dead fish in the mail. They left all that behind in Chicago...
