Who is more qualified to run for national office: Sarah Palin or Caroline Kennedy?

View in ascending order View in descending order
Lerxst writes: Tuesday, December, 16, 2008 9:50 PM
To "run" or to "hold"
With the heavyweight political environment that Kennedy must have been mired in for so long I wouldn't doubt she is far more "qualified" to RUN for national office.

With regard to who is better "qualified" to actually hold and discharge the duties of a national office Palin wins that one by a country mile.

vonryansexpress writes: Tuesday, December, 16, 2008 10:15 PM
Ms. Kennedy should try actually running
in 2010 if she wants some legitimacy. Survive a big primary season and then win the seat.

The road to the White House after the Obama win seems to some now, a "why not me" endeavor.

Hey, why not Michael Skakel? We're a forgiving nation ... Let's golf.

You forgot to mention her "liberal family mojo". Oh, I forgot you already made a fool of yourself with that statement on another thread. Sorry.

Window may be right on this one. Let's see, one was a Mayor, Governor and ran for VP. The other reads newspapers. We have a winner!

Its amazing
Someone who has actually had a job doing the peoples business was unqualified in the Dems minds, and I use that term loosely, for most dems have no mind at all.It seems the TRUE measure is Party affilation not actual ability or experience. You have a pres. that doesnt know crap of how to defend a nation, a vp, who doesnt know which foreign policy to follow when, and senatetors by the handful filling most of the cabinet post, gosh they do so well in congress why not , and now they fill the seats with people with NO experience in anything at all and yet Palin, A successful governor is still a DOLT to their mind. Why are we falling behind in the world, look at who we have making choices for us and running our schools and congress.Yes you DEMS are so very wise stick your AL FRANKINS UP YOUR ASSSSSS!!!!! your ruining the country.

That 100 IQ points. . . . . . .
So did Caroline pass her bar exam?

On the third try, like her baby brother JFK Junior did? In a special arrangement where he was the only one taking the exam with a special proctor?

I don't know if Caroline is a pilot like Sarah Palin is -- but if she is, I suspect she is a considerably better pilot -- then brother JFK junior was. Of course, that's not saying a whole lot.

But she does look like a perfect mixture of JFK and Jackie, and Uncle Teddy does have that brain tumor, so she should obviously be in the Senate.

My god there is no comparisson! Sarah Palin blows Kennedy out of the water!

Qualified to be appointed Senator?
There are thousands or tens of thousands of people who are as qualified or more qualified to serve two years as an unelected Senator as Caroline Kennedy. Sarah Palin isn't one of them.

Kennedy will probably do an acceptable job, but the governor of NY should not appoint her. Political dynasties have been disastrous for the country.

Sarah the Wise
Unlike gov blago Sarah can run a state and not buy or sell a senate seat, fly a plane, catch a fish or two, get a pipeline built, field dress a moos and raise a family.

and she has nothing to offer?

Sarah is still the arctic fox.

"Why isn't Palin qualified? Please elaborate."

I didn't say Palin is not qualified; I said she is less qualified than Kennedy. Massively less qualified.

I'm not going to run through the two curricula vitae; they're as different as night and day. stalkinghorse above lists "fly a plane" and "field dress a moos[e]" as qualifications to be a senator. I can't argue with that kind of logic, or with a value system under which someone like Palin is seriously considered as a candidate for national office. Kennedy is a successful, accomplished person; Palin is a cartoon.

Mayor, Governor, yep no accomplishment there.
john writes: Wednesday, December, 17, 2008 2:05 AM
Considering all of her accomplishments
Caroline Kennedy is certainly qualified to serve two years as an unelected Senator. She can show up occasionally to vote " present " and write a couple of books before running for POTUS.

Governor Sarah Palin by far is more Qualified then Kennedy,
there is no comparisson,
Now Andrew Coumo is Qualified for the New York Senate seat,
and if the New York Governor sticks to his word and gives to the most Qualified person that should be Andrew Coumo.

Unquestionably Palin
Comparing Sarah Palin to Caroline Kennedy is like comparing "King" Ralph Klein (erstwhile Calgary Mayor who got that city 1988 Winter Olympics and managed that well, and also AB Premier who caused Canada to replace Muddle East as US' primary oil source) to Bob Muck (accurate description of "Bob Munck") respectively.
ScarletPimpernel writes: Wednesday, December, 17, 2008 9:05 AM
the Dem/lib way
The feminists must be proud: first Hillary rides the coattails of her philandering man (whom she stood by - just like Tammy Wynette;) and now Caroline wants to ride the wave that the men of her family have created. Wow, being a "strong" woman of ability is easy if you're a Dem/lib!
RASHUM writes: Wednesday, December, 17, 2008 9:21 AM
JUST SAY NO
to Caroline Kennedy!

Caroline Kennedy has done nothing to warrant a Senate seat. She was born rich, married rich, inherited millions, never worked a day in her life and is totally isolated from the real world.

A typical day for Caroline - wake up, have her personal chef make her breakfast, have her nanny dress and bath the kids, hop in her chauffer driven car, drop her kids off at private school, driver drops her off at her charitable foundation, do nothing for a few hours, has her driver pick her up, goes to the gym and works out with a personal trainer, while working out her driver picks up the kids from private school, goes home and showers and get dressed with the help of her personal assistant, hops back in her chauffer driven car, has dinner at a restaurant where it takes most people weeks to get a reservation, in the mean time her kids are at home enjoying a meal prepared by their personal chef, hops back in her chauffer driven car and goes to one of her billionaire friends cocktail party or fundraiser, goes home to bed. Repeats most days, save Friday when her driver takes her to her private plane and she flies to the Hamptons, Nantucket or the Cape.

If her last name was not Kennedy she could not even get a job at the passport office. I live in NYC and although I do not care for any of the elected members of congress, assembly, council, etc. there are many more qualified people.

Sarah Palin was elected mayor, governor and did not have a last name like Kennedy to get her elected and help her raise money.

Kennedy appears to be in position for this office simply based on being born a Kennedy ,if appointed she will gain office without ever running for any sort of public office.
Palin has successfully run for several public offices and has a very strong public aproval rating among her constituents .
We are in danger of creating ,and may already have an aristocracy that increasingly veiws public office as a birthright with elections being little more than a formality . the Kennedy and Bush family are prime examples of this and are the best arguement for term limits.

Sounds like you are envious of Kennedy. I agree, she's not qualified. But heck, palin would love Kennedy's life. After all, she' loved the shopping spree on my RNC nickle. (not a dime more to the RNC from me!) By geroge, she also discovered there is more out here in the lower 48 than Burger King and moose hunts.

I don't respect Sarugh Palin. She has and an affair with BRAD HANSON, has a knocked up unmarried kid, and then tells ME she has family values? I'll take Carolines any day over that of your goddess, Palin.

Sarah Palin - by several light years
As a lifelong Democrat I am ashamed at the people who are swooning the possibility over Caroline being selected to fill Hillary's seat.

True, Hillary was also a "name" Democrat when she ran, but she did have to run, campaign and introduce herself throughout the state, and she did have decades of actual public service and involvement in the issues at the highest level of both national and state government.

Sarah Palin likewise has served at the highest level of state government in one of the most challenging states in the country, and has campaigned at the highest level nationally. She has 15 years of elected and appointed public service, starting at the local level and working her way up. And COMPLETELY unlike Caroline, she did it all on her own, and on a shoestring budget every step of the way.

Palin, no question. It's not even a contest.
my2centsplus writes: Wednesday, December, 17, 2008 10:26 AM
Palin?
Out side of male dominated AK, whose population has more high school dropout than anyplace else, Palin would not have even gotten to first base. (Even with Brad Hanson).

Who wouldn't want Caroline Kennedy's pampered life style? Actually I would probably be bored after a while of doing nothing all day.

However, you should stop trolling this bs "BRAD HANSON" story, trust me if it was true the press would be all over it, considering how they love to miss quote her i.e. " I can see Russia from my house" when she said "from Alaska you can see Russia" which is in fact true.

Family values is having an unmarried kid have a child and supporting them. If she was not pro-family values she would have sent her child to an abortion clinic. So her child would not be “punished with baby” as someone once said.

And if Palin could not get elected anywhere other than Alaska, how come she got larger crowds than your false messiah? She is and will be the most requested person to attend fundraisers for Republicans in 2010.

As for high school drop out rates...where are the highest high school drop out rate, the inner cites. You know those places that are represented 100% by Democrats!
Yellow Jacket writes: Wednesday, December, 17, 2008 11:03 AM
The Entitlement Senator
Of course Caroline will waltz into the office of Senator of the State of new York. Afterall, she is entitled to hold a powerful public office.

Palin, on the other hand, has to work to be elected. As she has been elected to public office, in increasingly responsible roles, the citizenry recognizes that she is in fact qualified to serve in the office for which she has campaigned. A national office is the next logical progression in her resume.

How is Caroline Kennedy's entitlement different from the situtation unfolding in Illinois? Her endorsement was worth a lot of money to someone. She will likely get something valuable in return. No cash is changing hands, but this seat will be filled with a barter and undoubtedly a bit of Uncle Ted's influence.

Palin could take you out at over 1,000 yards without a site affixed to her rifle. You betcha!

You all must really be afraid of little ole Sarah if you all have to keep beating on her eday in and day out.

BTW. Caroline Kennedy is a joke, the only thing she has going for her is the Kennedy name, and that name has been in the death throws for quite some time now.

Both. If they satisfy the requirements of states and qualify for ballots, then both are 'qualified' to run for office. But I know that I am naive. Malkin throws a bone into the pit of fighting dogs and watches as they ravage with 'words' the poor bone.
I dont play that game. The bone I pick is this:
Is Malkin qualified to ask this question? Isnt this a question that the MSM usually asks?
