From Eagles to Adams ...
Posted by: Matt Lewis at 11:39 AM
I own every Eagles album ever made, but their newest venture Long Road Out of Eden seems trite to me.  It's hard to tell if they've changed, or if the times have changed.  While acts like Springsteen remain relevant, it seems the Eagles have flown the coop.  Still, I've got a soft spot for crossover country, and I'll be getting my fill of it tonight as alt-country star Ryan Adams performs at Constitution Hall in DC ...

Sorry, but you are wrong. Springsteen is irrelevant. Always has been, always will be. He has never been on the right side of the curve, and he can't sing. Just because he sounds good isn't enough.

The Eagles and Bruce Springsteen

Matt,

The Eagles' have been irrelevant for the past few decades because they had ingested more drugs than a lab full of rats at Pfizer---in other words, their brains are fried !

On the other hand, Bruce Springsteen was never a druggie---although his brains have been fried by all the left-wing nonsense that he's ingested.
While he's always been a Democrat, he had generally been apolitical until he fell in with the left wing celebrities when he lived out here in LA.
And now Bruce is working on cementing his artistic legacy with critics and historians---and what better way to do that than to pander to them politically ('The Ghost of Tom Joad,' 'Pete Seeger Sessions,' and the new anti-war songs.)
