Fresh from his swearing-in as Minnesota's newest U.S. Senator, Al Franken wasted no time this week in thanking labor unions for their support of his campaign. The Washington Examiner reports: Only one day in office and already Sen. Al Franken, D-Minn., is getting special treatment--special treatment from special interest groups.
Labor union AFL-CIO was the first group to cozy up to the new senator, hosting a party in his honor Tuesday evening at the union's headquarters ... He told the crowd of AFL-CIO and Working America supporters... that his long-debated election win was because of them.
"It's completely accurate to say that I wouldn't have won this without you," he said.
Not surprisingly, Sen. Franken quickly moved to reciprocate his love and support, adding his name to the list of co-sponsors on controversial union-backed card check legislation.

Stuart Small...I am good enough. I love me. yadda yadda. More proof Congress if full of contemptuous idiots accross the board.Sadly, he fits right in many ways. |

You beat me to it! Next thing you know, Town Hall will discover that some Democrats are pro-choice. |

Pull your head out. I have not heard any Republican say that what these politicians do, adultery, corruption is ok with us. But do you denounce politicians that have done wrong in your party? like kennedy, pelosi, durbin, rangle, burriss, waters, murtha, feinstein, boxer, dodd, frank. |

Democratic Senator supports union legislation.
Under the fold, sun rises in East this morning. |

"Franken is a liberal doing the job we liberals voted for him to do."
Please tell us what he has done yet? |

Most Senators get a six year term.
Mr. Franken gets a 5yr, 4 month term in which he can cozy up to Unions and start his inevitable descent into graft, kickbacks, bribes and self-dealing.
Does anyone know the line being offered at Ladbrokes or in Atlantic City as to how long Mr. Franken gets to serve in his truncated term before getting tagged for some illegality? |
