You Gotta Have Faith? Or Not?

In a move no doubt intended to signal his friendliness to people of faith (!), Barack Obama announced, according to this AP story:
plans to expand President Bush's program steering federal social service dollars to religious groups and -- in a move sure to cause controversy -- support some ability to hire and fire based on faith.
But wait a minute. If this First Read account is accurate (and there's every reason to believe it is), Barack is flipping yet again.
The original version of the AP story said Barack would "support their [i.e. the religious groups'] ability to hire and fire based on faith." The Obama campaign said that characterization was inaccurate, so AP changed "their" to "some" ability . . .
But the campaign is still saying that the statement is inaccurate.
So which is it? Does Barack support religious groups having the ability/some ability/any ability to hire and fire based on faith -- as the AP has reported -- or not?
Perhaps he simultaneously supports and opposes it, a la his position(s) on gay marriage and the DC gun ban? Wow! The options are endless!
It seems increasingly apparent that he's the candidate of "change" all right -- changing views, that is.

...to smiley-face drooling and nodding approval of everything their combination fuehrer/kommisar tells them. The key to the election will be the conservatives who, rightly, feel alienated by McCain. In this case, it is better to go with a war veteran patriot in heart and soul than with a future would-be kommie dictator. |

trying to rewrite Title VII of the Civil Rights act of 1964? |

know exactly what in the world the Fed govt. is doing getting involved in charity work to begin with?
And, of course, why any organization that desired autonomy and independence would accept dollars from Caesar?

for faith based programs? If the government has that type of taxpayer money on hand why not just give it back to those hard-working, gun toting, clinging to religion workers who put it in the coffers to begin with?
If Obama and his liberal democrats can raise all that money for his campaign, why don't they donate their money to these faith based programs.
Now we know why those religious meetings with Obama were closed door. Now we know why Jeremiah Wright didn't really retire. Gotta have admin fees doled out of those funds.
Also, if TUCC was building that million dollar home for a "retired" Jeremiah Wright and now he isn't retiring afterall, does he still get to live there? Was that another scam? |

If the Annointed One becomes POTUS, we can rename the White House to Waffle House :-). |
|
The irony of all of Wright's criticism of the federal government is that his church received around $15 million in faith-based money in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
I'm a regular church goer, but I don't think this is the federal government's role. It's just a boondoggle for grant applicants.
This is getting ridiculous. Obama and the Democrats are destroying individual initiative. |

You're a tool and blind as an f-ing bat, monkey.. Let's say that famous line together...'kay, 'kay?
All you need is faith and trust, oh...and a little bit of fairy dust.
Yep, that'll do it, I'm sure I will wake up and see the nuanced light! Give me a break. |
