"Yes, she won the debate by not imploding. But governing requires knowledge, and mindless populism is just that—mindless."
From Newsweek:
A key argument for Palin, in essence, is this: Washington and Wall Street are serving their own interests rather than those of the broad whole of the country, and the moment requires a vice president who will, Cincinnatus-like, help a new president come to the rescue. The problem with the argument is that Cincinnatus knew things. Palin sometimes seems an odd combination of Chauncey Gardiner from "Being There" and Marge from "Fargo."

You need to include Kathleen Parker in the MSM hatred of Governor Palin. If she is not removed from Townhall soon I will be canceling my magazine subscription. Parker has lost all objectivity. |

Governor Palin. She is the biggest threat to his agenda ever. That is why his unwitting accomplices demonstrate such hatred for the Governor. The devil knows her character and he fears it.
Senator McCain's performance was amazing last night. He wiped the floor with Obama, Jr. He amply illustrated Junior's lack of experience and gravitas. He also illustrated Junior's duplicity.
How weak was Junior when he said I may have accepted the second most contributions of any Senator from Fannie and Freddie, but I did not hire a former lobbyist of Fannie and Freddie's?
He actually thinks that a decision maker (U.S. Senator) accepting direct funds is less egregious than hiring a former lobbyist. What wonderland are he and his supporters living in? |
|
Obama, Jr.'s performance last night. Put them in your order of priority. Cold, calculating, phony, shallow. If a person could not see how inexperienced he is, they were not looking.
His halting and often incoherent replies are obviously a product of his having never considered many of the issues facing the U.S.A. |

Love it more when someone on the right points out Palin's weaknesses and your quick to throw them out the door. That my friends is what's known as objectivity, not the other way around. |
|
when an Obama, Jr. says it is all over, just agree with them. Then go out and tell at least a half a dozen aquaintances with whom you are on good terms what it is you do not like about Junior and what you do like about Senator McCain.
Reinforce Junior's supporters's overconfidence and use it to motivate you to campaign harder for Senator McCain.
Junior is way too cold, calculating, inexperienced and shallow to be POTUS. People are starting to feel it in their guts. We humans also instinctively know the truth long before we can articulate it. If we get the truth about Junior out, we will win.
Let Junior's supportersy baste in their overconfidence. |

For many years I maintained a subscription to Newsweek and read it "cover-to-cover". The more I read the more I began to realize that there was an underline "bias" that permeated, and got worse, each issue of the magazine.
I finally came to my senses and stopped my subscription. I'm sure that my little act of defiance did little to hurt their bottom line but, for me, it's a small victory.
I feel the same way about TIME magazine as well -- heck, I will not even glance through either magazine while waiting in the Doctor's office -- another small victory for me.

And so do we. Forget Obama. Forget even McCain. Focus on Sarah Palin. She has executive experience. She has experience changing established politics. She should be the next president. Join the movement: http://www.writeinpalin08.com/ |

Gov. Palin is scary...she really is. Not because she is a nonconformist, a woman, a conservative, a "maverick", not even because she thinks we should should hunt wolves with helicopters (but that is pretty special), she is terrifying because she could actually be our president and she knows less about world politics than a 7th grader. I am a scientist by trade and a liberal (as some of you may have guessed), when I was watching the Palin interview with Couric, I found myself coming up with better Republican answers than she could. I knew her party platform better than her, and I don't even agree with it nor have I had experts coaching me for the past 6 weeks. Call me crazy but I think our political leaders should have a better understanding about the world than I do. Couric wasn't biased just because Palin looked like an idiot. It would have taken a biased reporter to make her NOT look completely inept. |
|
I would much rather have Palin, as an experienced Gov. a heartbeat away from the oval office than to have a rookie senator with nothing to show for his record except massive spending proposals inhabiting the oval office next January.

When Palin starts giving real press conferences or when she succeeds in offering more coherent answers to a follow-up questions, then independents and swing-voters will begin to take her seriously. Their opinion, not the right wing, is what really matters. |

|
gunsngrit, I could not have said it better myself, I will not be surprise if Gov. Palin run in 2012, that will be one for the books. |

So when was the last time you were Governor of Alaska or any state for that matter? Since you say you know all the Republican platform and policies just why are you still a liberal Democrat? As a scientist you shud try to get to the bottom of that mystery of nature. |
