Tom Ridge is Out?
Posted by: Matt Lewis at 4:30 PM
According to Fox News:
"As speculation grows around who John McCain will select as his vice presidential running mate next week, Republican National Committee officials said Tuesday that McCain is no longer considering former Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge."

Sorry, Qweenmum
I guess you won't be able to "watch Evangelicals' heads explode" now.

McCain/Romney, the best ticket.
McCain/Romney,this would be the winning ticket,
They would be tough on National Security, the War on Terror, and Foreign Policy,
and would be great for the Economy,
they will drill for oil, that would lower the price of gas, will not raise taxes on the American people and small business,
would create more jobs, and take care of the Border Security,
they would be Honest with the American people, and on Faith,
they know theres only one way to Heaven,
and Obama leads in the polls, Please,
John McCain is the best and safe choice for President,
McCain/Romney the winning ticket in November.

What happened to Dunk? He's my rep--a good guy. A Baptist strong on the border and con principles. We never hear about him.

Maybe he just didn't jump up like Mitt, the Energizer Bunny, and start campaigning for Mack. Hunter doesn't sparkle, but neither do a bunch on the list.

Jindal's busy warming up in the bull pen until 2012. Huck seems out. Do you like Palin?

I'm skeptical given what I've been seeing, but one word for you if Ridge is out of the running: alleluia!

I'd hold my nose and vote for a McCain/Romney ticket admittedly, but I'd much prefer a McCain/Huckabee or McCain/Jindal one. Sadly, I'm not going to get the latter.

Also, am I the only one surprised that Duncan Hunter's name has not been mentioned at all as a possible pick?

Funny and scary at the same time!

Except for the AlGore visual. I'm flagging you as offensive on that one!

PC is dead right.
Float Tom Ridge out there and freak out the conservatives. He makes Romney look extremely appealing. Makes some of the Mormon haters think twice.
Kind of like telling Kimberly, George Bush is at her house drilling for oil, but when she gets home Al Gore is running around the kitchen naked.

"McCain Walks in Beauty"
by Broadway Joe Smithers

He walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that's best of dark and bright
Meet in his aspect and his eyes:
Thus mellow'd to that tender light

Which heaven to gaudy day denies.
One shade the more, one ray the less,
Had half impair'd the nameless grace
Which waves in every raven tress,
Or softly lightens o'er his face;
Where thoughts serenely sweet express
How pure, how dear their dwelling-place.

And on that cheek, and o'er that brow,
So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,
The smiles that win, the tints that glow,
But tell of days in goodness spent,
A mind at peace with all below,
A heart whose love is innocent!

To be sung while dancing in tights and holding your nose. Great for cross-dressers like Joe.

Let Go Of Your Nose Joe
It's starting to cut off the circulation to your brain. Of course that may be a good thing so your head doesn't explode when McCain names Liberalman as his VP.

No I am not eight, but I have a seven year old who watches that movie all the time. But the name works because the idea that conservatives win by losing to Barack Obama with a Democratic Party controlled House and Senate is less plausible than a Michael Bay movie.

And Michael Moore is starting to sweat about Obama losing. http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/story/22249602/how_th e_democrats_can_blow_it_in_six_easy_steps/print What I find incredulous is there are self described conservatives who agree with Michael Moore about electing John McCain over Barack Obama. The name Defeatocons fits them perfectly.

Are Defeatocons like Decepticons? Are you 8?
Joe writes: Tuesday, August, 19, 2008 5:06 PM
Defeatocons sweating like Michael Moore
Oh no, McCain not stupid enough to nominate a pro choicer! He could win!

Obama needs to win so we can lose and thus win. Because that is what Defeatocons do. Because Virginia Patriot is a Defeatocon and Pasadena Phil is a Defeatocon too.
RASHUM writes: Tuesday, August, 19, 2008 4:51 PM
no surprise
There was no chance McCain was going to pick a pro-abortion running mate. Ridge would make an excellent Sec. of Defense.

We Know Who Sen. Stick-In-The-Eye Is
I hope he lives up to his maverick image and picks Liberalman. If only to see how much excrement the GOP bobbleheads like Joe will eat.
PC writes: Tuesday, August, 19, 2008 4:42 PM
Of Course
Did anyone ever really think McCain would choose a pro-abort? I sure didn't.

This whole exercise was to keep up his maverick rep and help social conservatives realize Romney is their dream candidate.
