One Hour to Go

The countdown is officially ON.
How are we feeling here? I'm hopeful this high-pressure situation makes Palin perform stronger. She's a former athlete who sunk the winning free throw to clinch her state's basketball championship. When I look at her, I see a "gamer" and the extra adrenaline could really help her focus and hit her marks.
And by the way, I really like Philip Klein. He's not an "elitist" and his criticisms of Palin are fair. In the original post he wrote," I don't think it does Palin any favors for conservatives to cover up for her and convince the campaign that her performances in interviews have been adequate for the office she's seeking." I absolutely agree with him.
I don't think the people, like Kathleen Parker for example, criticized Palin for "publicity." She was already a wildly successful syndicated columnist before anybody even know how to pronounce Palin. You can disagree with her, but that's no reason to intone she's a publicity whore.
Let's stop this silliness.
Time for the debate!

Hugh claims he never heard of Parker before last week. Right. |

From my vantage in the hills and valleys above and within Hollywood, tonight will be pastich.
I'll thrill to Gov. Palin being the stellar conservative speaker I know she is and then, we'll drop to Nokia Center and enjoy Carlos Santana.
A Santana crowd will include many McCain supporters. The east side of Los Angeles, our hispanic neighbors, those that send the most to war and have the most graves in Westwood National Cemetary from the Iraq War are likely to be an edge of victory for McCain/Palin.
"Oya coma va", Sarah.

Nervous. Extremely nervous. McCain's generally down anywhere from 5 to 10 points. McCain could come back if Palin pulls off a miracle, or if ads run in the last 2 weeks of the campaign are sufficiently scathing to destroy Obama. What McCain can't afford, however, is to give up any more ground, and you can bet that Gwen will be looking for any way to accomplish just that on behalf of Obama and her own book sales.
As for Parker, it's not that Conservatives necessarily mind criticism of a fellow Conservative, but giving "the enemy" ammunition at such a critical juncture allowing them to disspirit the troops and lower morale, particularly when the VP is the primary force keeping the Presidential contender viable... well, it does raise legitimate questions about Parker's conservatism, and whether or not we should expect more backstabbing from "conservative" commentators.
Liberals still know their Ceasar: divide and conquer. |
|
is what LIBs do.
"Let's stop this silliness."
Don't be tellin' us not to bash the Palin bashers because you like'em personally. We've got just as much right to bash the bashers as they do to bash Sarah. Maybe even more.

There's not the remotest possibility that McCain will dump Palin or pressure her to drop herself.
This is it,there are no do-overs. On November 5 (or sometime) we're going to wake up to either President-elect Obama, or President-elect McCain.
Sniping at Palin now increases the possibility of President-elect Obama. Unless this is your intent, there's no reason to do it. |
|
|
...but I'm sure she's wildly successful. |
|
It is not "silliness" to express outrage over a "conservative" columnist ranting against the VP candidate at such a critical time.
I for one have never referred to Ms. Parker as a publicity whore but I seriously question her authentic desire for a McCain/Palin victory. If she were sincere, she knows damn well that this is NOT the time to go spouting off vitriol against the Republican candidates. |

Imagine this is a KKK rally and the Obamanation was on the front row. Sorry, it isn't imaginary. Imagine he was there for 20 years listening to his mentor. Sorry, it isn't imaginary. This man is sick and so are his 21st century hitler youth.
