Money Quote from Palin's Speech Tonight
Posted by: Amanda Carpenter at 7:22 PM
This line is going to set the convention on fire:

"And since our opponents in this presidential election seem to look down on that experience, let me explain to them what the job involves. I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a ‘community organizer,’ except that you have actual responsibilities."

For me, it's never been about quantity
If Obama had a record that displayed that he actually meant what he said about "change" and moving past partisanship, I'd have given him a much longer look. But his record is one of partisanship when he thinks no one is looking. Governor Palin, on the other hand, has a record that says she really means what she says when she talks about reform.

And by all means, Obama should continue trying to run against the other VICE Presidential nominee. The last candidate to try that trick was Michael Dukakis.

YOU brought up the inexperience issue
DOLTS. It was McCain's campaign that ran on the "inexperienced" meme, and then McCain CHOSE an INEXPERIENCED running mate. REMEMBER??

Gah! Palin is clueless and unable to hold herself to account for her lies, deception, hypocrisy and Katherine Harris scariness. How can this country trust that?

"Palin wrote the entire speech herself, it was not pre-written."

Where did you see that claim? Here's the link: http://tinyurl.com/6rumre

"Not anticipating that McCain would choose a woman as his running mate, the speech that was prepared in advance was "very masculine," according to campaign manager Rick Davis, and "we had to start from scratch."

By "we" you think he means "Palin?"

Obama surrogates are out... Bob!
You are doing your best to stifle the Palin speech. It ain't gonna happen.

This is her speech, her moment, her rebuttal on the crap she put up with since last Saturday.

"tweak... less masculine" your laughable...

Choirboy Chris Matthews
Chris Matthews on MSNBC just stated quite emphatically, (paraphrasing - words may slightly differ) "It is the job of the media to dig up the facts on these candidates..."

Priceless.

Do you suppose Obama is concerned?

Will MSNBC be digging through the Annenberg Challenge files?

Right.
Angel writes: Wednesday, September, 03, 2008 8:05 PM
Why?
Why do they release the text before the speech is delivered?? It just gives the Obama people time to prepare a plausible response.

A Tweak
Don't forget, most of the speech was written before Palin was chosen for the nomination. In fact, the writers had to tweak it to make it less "masculine."

I wonder what this line used to say for "small-town mayor." "Governor of a New England state?" "Senator from Connecticut?" "Exorcist from the Ivy Leagues?"

"In fact..."?
Link please.

Sarah Palin = Obama Kryptonite
I love it! You go Sarah!

All the MSM is in a piranha feeding frenzy over our Sarah'cuda.

They simply don't know which family member to attack next. This is great -- I can't get over all the Media Darlings at CNN & MSNBC snarling at each other trying to dig up dirt on someone as clean as Sarah.

She has inspired me so much that I have decided to take an active role in this election cycle. I have contributed money for the first time ever and intend to volunteer at our local level. Remember, "you ain't in it if your money's not in it".

I am energized and intend to do what I can to help John & Sarah win in November.
Oregon Elephant writes: Wednesday, September, 03, 2008 7:34 PM
It'll get a good ovation in the arena...
but the real test of the speech will be 3 or 4 days after the convention, in the polls. It will be interesting to see where it shakes out. Obama right now has about a 6 point lead in the RCP average. I think the magic number is about 3 percent. If in 3 or 4 days, Obama is still up by more than 3 points, he's going to feel pretty good. If less than 3 points, then I think McCain will feel like the convention did its job.

Then it's off to the debates...
CollegeRepublican writes: Wednesday, September, 03, 2008 7:30 PM
No Way!!
I can't wait for that line. Holy smackdown Batman.

And Bob, as usual, you're wrong. Palin wrote the entire speech herself, it was not pre-written.

You fail.
