A few more thoughts about how the hurricane might impact the GOP convention ...
... Garthwaite posits the idea that Mitt Romney and Meg Whitman would be perfect to head up an effort to do a major charitable phone bank from the convention.
... Most modern-day conventions have no meaning. There is no "real" news that comes out of them -- just "made-for-TV" news. There is a chance that this convention could actually matter ... that the speeches from McCain and Palin about leadership might actually be tailored to address a specific crisis that is happening right now.
